How are you even going to riot? Unsubscribe & and play another MMO with gender locked gear?
If anything I'd like more masculine looking mage armor for my guy character. Seriously-- we have more than enough dresses and skirts on guys
How about SE deal with more important things like bugs, gil-sellers, and working on the next expansion?
My concern is only the bunny ears. Skirt is totally nay for people.
The whole "X or riot" threads seem immature but I guess not really that surprised though.
Well, it already happens, so I'm not sure what I can tell you.

Can we add the Race Starter Gear to the list too? >w>
And the Guardian Corps and Bohemian sets?
I know some are against it and others are not, but lets be honest here, this is all SE fault. If SE had given both genders equal glamour during ARR, then we would probaly have never seen these type of threads. SE started catering (Since HW they have changed) towards releasing female only outfits, which made people ask for male versions, then SE responded that the reason why female avatars get the outfit, is because its easier to make them for females and when making outfits, they make a female first then adapt it to the males. This inturn started requests for SE to just release the female outfits for males aswell and here we are.
SE should have seen it comming, but they released Diadem and Lord of Verminion soo...
PS: To the players that are making a big fuss about what other players make their characters wear... WTF? Do you worry as much when you see a guy wearing feminine outfits in real life aswell? NO! You move along and mind your own business. Let players wear whatever they want to wear.
Telling SE "I want to Cross Dress or i'm going to make a big deal out of it" is the wrong approach. Also we ALL pay to play the game so everyone's opinion or desires should be equally valued. Telling someone to "Mind their business" in our own gaming community is an oxymoron since we all have ideas about what the resources could be better spent developing.
I'm all for equality but the Gender Neutral Issue (Period) is being pushed too aggressively. I agree some clothing should be unlocked but demanding "Cross Dressing" has nothing to do with fair treatment for gender clothing options in game and asking to be allowed to do that is taking it too far.
But can you blame them for it? They have asked SE if they could add male versions of the outfits, like the bunny one and SE have said that they are thinking about it, then they say they will work on bringing in more male exclusive outfits to balance the gender inequality between males and females. They said this back when 2.51 was released which was in the week of 24th of February of 2015. They have been waiting for a bunny outfit since then. Alot of threads were made, most were ignored and what does SE do? They release another bunny outfit for females in HW. This would have been the perfect opportunity to release a male version aswell. Players would respect SE for being true to their word.
Its 25th of April 2016 and still there is no male outfit. If this were to happen to the females instead, I would make a big fuss about it. I complained aswell when we thought that Setzer outfit was male only and I was not alone. So they might be agressive, but SE have made it known that unless we realy keep requesting for it, they will not respond to it. Look at the Magitek theme, players used to make alot of threads on here and Reddit requesting SE to add a FF6 theme to the Magitek and what did SE do? They added Tina´s theme to the Magitek. Giving feedback and requesting stuff works, SE even wants us to make threads and tell them what we as players want.
(this is not directed at you, Anima)
It does not help that whenever someone wants a male version of the female version, they get a big group of players who disagree. These players do not want the males to get their own exclusive outfits, they do not want them to share the same outfit aswell. I have never seen this behavior before in other games, FFXIV is the only mmorpg where I have witnessed that players are buthurt, because someone wants the option to wear the same outfit or let their gender have their version of the outfit. Its bringing the special snowflake syndrome to a anoher whole level.
That should be said to those asking for the crossdressing. Japan is still in the process of accepting such things, and while they have anime and such with crossdressers, they are usually of a humourous nature. The one crossdressing moment within this game itself was for humour purposes. It took alot for them to even have same-sex marriages put into this game, and to allow gambling. It could be years before they allow crossdressing to be a norm for their people, if ever in the life-span of the game.
exactly... se listen to the fanbase way to much imo if wanna wear girls clothes change to a female and vice versa problem solved... ppl who say suck it up always the 1st to complain about almost everything lol
i always just laugh when see people with male toons complainin they cant wear bunny outfits etc etc... so many people whinge n whine about wanting more content yet instead of just changin genders they scream for gender locks to be lifted... all the time n resources put into changin that could be put into somethin much more worthwhile imo
Also, we should put the Gender-lock Valentione gear on the list too (The Apron, Apron Dress, Pants, and Skirt) and the rest of the Expeditioner's sets.
Because it's been the norm, it shouldn't be gradually introduced? Males already can dye their clothes pink and the Spring Skirt is unisex, among other things. There's also means for males to dress scantily clad as well with the Coliseum gear, so naturally it'd progress into crossdressing thereafter as time goes on.
Since they allow us to have same-sex marriage in the game, crossdressing is easily something that could follow next. It's all a matter of time.
Any arguments people have against it really aren't up to snuff, as there is this one distinguishing fact: How someone customizes and dresses their character does not effect yours whatsoever. For instance, I find Miqo'te to be eyesores because the eyes disturb me but I don't say anything about it, I just deal with it and move on because who am I to say how a person wants to present their character because "IT'S NOT WHAT I WOULD WANT BAWWW~"
Ugh I hope they announce what gear that become unisex this Saturday. (Hoping for bunny ears always)
Let a person present his way according to how he wants. Chances are, reality is denying them of such freedom to express themselves. And based from experience, Those "Binkini wearing big men" are some of the decent people I befriended in the game. The crazy nutjobs are often the ones who tries to present themselves nicely.
I'm all for it! I wish they could implement some stilettos as well. I'll continue to dream.
Personaly I don't mind if people want more options for their characters, but what about being unique? It's kinda boring if everyone wanna look the same imo.
During the PAX persentation, Yoshi P said that gender locked gear will gradually be made accessible for both genders and the Devs wanted players to list what items they want prioritized first in the forums (preferable in one thread).
Uniqueness should come from the use and combination of items, not the limitation of their use.
If your going to make a list why not put them together in a set instead of each item? It makes the list longer than it really is.
SJW's are taking over the game. Rip
That's why they are doing it over a long period of time (they never said when the first batch is going to come out or even if it's going to be a batch and not individual items) versus all at once and they want to know what the players want first and prioritize them (though, I'm sure they'll also prioritize the items that can easily be converted too).
It's not like they are going to have all their modelers and riggers do this either... >w>
True :). Like I said I don't mind :). I played male char for like 2 years and just switched back to female, I wish there was more cool gear for females, I'm one of those guys who actually likes propper cool gear on my female character than wearing bikini on a tank class.
I really don't want to see male characters in a lot of the items you are requesting, just like I wouldn't want to see it in RL either. I support LGBT equality but guys in bikinis and halter tops isn't something I want.
I dont know if this was brought up, But I think it would also be nice to add the housemaid gear and butler gear that should be coming over soon to the west to be wearable by booth genders as well! I support this 100%
So far there's only 3 I really want unlocked.
Wedding Dress Set
Thavnarian Dress Set
Bunny Set
just give me the bunny ears and i am all good.
