Gotta say, it seems like they focused on all the stuff I care about least (pvp, gold saucer, crafting[i think? I glossed over it]). The relic part is nice, seems like it will be a lot less grindy and gives a decent reward. A nice horizontal progression choice from the relic. For SCH it's actually a bit tough.
like mega crit of the relic vs accuracy melds of the Lore. I think I'm going to go with the relic though.
Only problem is the Diadem items are still a fortune, fact the Straps are more then the actual item so crafting them is a bit of an issue Since i still end up paying 3-4 mil since people on my server charge a fortune for the diadem items.
Edit: Checked the Price of Ada francissa and it was 400k per item, the Straps for them are 290k per item and very rare on the mb...
This is the same story for all the items.
I love the increase of xp and MGP. And it appears all the people who complained about CT are getting their wish, well for a limited time it seems.
The rewards for the chocobo racing made it less tedious, however it's the chocobo race itself that is a problem for me. Without a perfect connection (and possibly with it? I don't think I'll ever experience that) the controls lag behind so my steering is off, letting my chocobo rest is off, I have to make wild guesses as to when to jump for a treasure box and when the server is going to believe I pressed that button and all of that lagged interface combined makes it extremely poor gameplay. I would very much like a version of it less tied to the server deciding what my responsiveness is and instead letting my computer decide that, even if it means I'm stuck with pre-made groups or npcs opponents only. Making the carrot bigger is an incentive to get people in temporarily, but making it actually fun keeps them coming back just because they actually enjoy it. (Just my opinion, I know some of you enjoy it as is)
That's not your connection or lag. That's working as designed and would be the same if you had a 0 ping. It's the same as in FFVII. You don't have 100% control over your chocobo. You guide it, but it doesn't always listen, or react immediately. In FFVII, one of the stats affected how quickly/likely the choco was to listen to you. I think there's one in this game too - cunning or something?
Yet I've had a chocobo that responds perfectly long before these races existed. Why would they ever think it's a good idea to purposefully simulate the most annoying part of internet gameplay? I already compete for my connection against a family of net hogs, I don't need a lag simulator in game!
To be honest, I actually do agree with you. I would have enjoyed it more if they based it more of Mario Kart and less off FFVII's chocobo racing mini-game.
But, I feel that my point stands. People wanted the minigames from other FF games and they obliged. I think that's great. I love it when people ask for something and then they make it, even if it isn't quite what I would have asked for if Yoshida happened to ask my personal opinion.
They gave us what are, in my opinion, very faithful reproductions of the FFVII chocobo racing minigame, the FFVIII Triple Triad card game, and the FFI sliding number game. I just hope they give us the FFVII snowboarding minigame next, and then maybe the FFVII roller coaster shooting game. And, I hope they NEVER give us the FFX blitzball minigame or the FFIX Tetra Master card game. Ugh, I didn't enjoy those two! I don't really recall any other memorable FF minigames...
Havn't tried the new chocobo racing yet but I'm very happy with the new relic step so far.
Thank you so much SE for putting item into the weekly Chrystal Tower quest people run it again and I love it:o
When it comes to the mini-games I was hoping for more control rather than general direction. All of the mini-games we are given are just luck or timing skill based for the most part. The GATEs are the only truly interactive part but Cliffhanger is the only one I enjoy of the 0:15 ones. Hopefully if they do bring the Snowboarding it has more control and response.
No 210 Relic step nerfs, new relic is i230 instead of 235. This patch blows.
For all of the relic people, I have a question.
So, in regard to the weekly CT quest - do you have to have the fully finished Anima before you can start getting the weekly item from CT? Or, does the weekly CT still give the reward even if you haven't finished an Anima yet?
They removed gender locks on a bunch of previously male-exclusive gear again.
They also mentioned a housing update regarding more houses being made available to purchase in 3.25, and the Mansion type 512-player housing for release in 3.3. Guess that was all misleading, too.
