Got boob ribbon?
That depends, can you make Spaghetti?
It's kinda a deal breaker.
Legacy tatt or naah?
I wish that the anime went on longer than it did. Despite the lengthy, and silly, title, I enjoyed watching it.
It's futile to fight a Roegadyn of any gender if they chose to pick you up. Or they will crush you like sparrow's egg.
Also: <insert obligatory girls don't play online games in real life hue hue hue tired meme>
Had a Guy?Girl? say to me in a duty the other night, "I wanna taste the salt on your skin". O.o
I replied, "Cool it, Third Eye Blind"
FYI, Don't attempt to pick me up with obscure song lyrics, I have a Masters xD
I didn't get picked up in a dungeon but I met my boyfriend on FFXIV (I live in the UK, he lives in the US) and we've flew out to see eachother. I'm visiting him again in May. So in short.. no, it's not wrong to pick up girls in dungeons!
As long as you're not creepy about it hehehe.
Sometimes I flirt with my fiance while we run a dungeon. Then I reach across the couch to high five her and lose aggro on something. It's a beautiful thing.
...and by how many assume that every pretty female character is actually a girl player who is just dying to be chatted up by some lonely gamer dude who supposes that every pretty female avatar is somehow reflective of the real player....
Grats, sometimes meeting online works, sometimes it works very, very well and sometimes it becomes the stuff of legend (not always a good thing). People often make all sorts of assumptions when you reveal how you met, but you can have fun disproving the assumptions year after year...
In my case, it worked extremely well, the resulting marriage has been going strong for more than a decade.
I figured, more or less my general reaction than directly pointed at you ;D
Especially men with female avatars being a normal occurrence, these same players reaction when they find out the player behind the male avatar is a girl can be summed up in this unfortunately:

Smh everytime
Only if she explicitly asks to be picked up, and doing so won't hurt your performance. It can be hard to do your job when you're holding a girl off the ground.
In seriousness, don't. If the girl avatar is a girl player, chances are she is in the instance to do what she needs to and get out. If you start making advances, you will probably sour her mood, and the entire encounter. Also, if you should decide to not heed my advice, make sure that you treat her with respect, and remember that she owes you nothing more than adequate performance in the role she queued as.
I'll happily tell anyone my real gender (hint: I'm 100% less female, pretty and blue-haired than Kosmos) - if asked.
I'm a bad person though; if someone starts something, and doesn't take a swift, "no" or "leave me a lone please", I'll just let them flail around and make a fool of them self. No need to add to their load by Rick Rolling them too.
However, I play alongside my wife (uh-oh, gave away my gender...maybe) in FFXIV, and we used to play in White Knight Chronicles together as well, I always play as Kosmos, I can't imagine playing another character really. But I've seen many cases of people just assuming something about my character or my wife's (she also plays a female Miqo'te - Hinagiku), and I've spoken to several female friends who play this and/ other games on this topic, they all have plenty of stories to tell as well.
So I don't feel that bad. :)
Yeah, I admit the assumptions are really stupid. There's literally no way to tell what gender a player is (even the extent of getting to know them and seeing photos could be a potential catfish). I find it kind of funny how people don't realise that by now.
My boyfriend and I were basically best friends before we became partners, so there was never that awkward questioning, but I imagine it's annoying. The other side is people just assuming female characters are men in real life, but I usually play along as I have nothing to prove to anyone. ^^
I'm an equal opportunity flirt.
Don't bully the minotaurus!
"You're so positive. You must be a girl."
I had this said to me once in a previous game.
A friend picked up his GF during a roulette. They started dating after they found out they were on the same server. It's a wild world out there in the DF..
I just had this happen this morning in ARF. Any of you single ladies want to take a shot at this tank?

Me too. Oh, and if you talk a lot (well chat in LS, party or FC chat) you must be a girl. If you don't swear, you must be a girl. If you're not a jerk, you must be a girl. If you show concern for others you must be a girl. I've experienced all of those, and more besides. XD
absolutely. This is why I make it a policy to address other players by their name and apparent gender in-game, unless they tell me otherwise. It's just easier that way, and if you're not making unwarranted assumptions or advances, there's no reason to know either way.
Exactly. If someone chooses to play a female character, then they are a female character. If they choose male, then they are male. If they choose Roegadyn they are the Hulk, is just easier that way... ;)
But really, a player's avatar says nothing about the player's real life gender, sexuality, race, politics, etc...so it's much easier to just go by what you see on screen rather than assuming something.
I had someone make the assumption that I was a guy because I played too well, and was hit on during ffxi. It was awkward, to say the least.
Haven't had any of that here, attitudes must have caught up or I'm playing at the wrong times. xD
^^ FFXI was the worst, played a female Hume; never again.

Male avatars are the perfect repellant #spreadtheword
