Good idea!
New class instead of bard from previous game sounds good to me. Keep it new and interesting.
Time mage also definitely sounds more fun than boring bard and would server as an additional mage job.

TBH I don't see why all classes need to be able to solo. I mean sure, they could put this one offensive movement as basic attack and have them dish the rest out through buffing and debuffing... but I wouldn't mind not being the best at soloing. Plus time mage has stuff like stop and teleport which would allow it to survive when exploring on its own.

Why would jobs need to solo? Thats what classes are for.

As a matter of fact, the devs were very specific to say that classes will be more solo oriented and jobs will be group oriented.

Time Mage was one of my favorite jobs in FFT, and I would LOVE to see it in 14, they could make Arcanist the req class for it methinks.

time mage would be a great edition to ffxiv class roster, it would definitely be a debuffer class. IE: improved slow, stop, mass haste,demi, regen reverse etc .while the bard is a buffer and have ability,s like regen/ mp regen . attack boost. dex boost etc etc.

I would want a true frontline mage. SE had the right concept with Red Mage in XI but had poor execution. Blue Mage is....ok I guess.

Time Mage being a frontline melee class that could actually contribute to damage as well as cast it's time magic? I have wood just thinking about it.

Time Mage won't be a class, I think. It will be a job, either from Arcanist or Thaumaturge, or probably a mix of both once they get to implementing more jobs. :D So it definitely won't be a front-line job, more of a supporter than can sometimes dish out heavy damage with a comet.

Also, what's wrong with my almighty TIME COMPRESSION? D: -knives all Leonhearts everywhere-

I think they will add Time Mage later, at first, I thought Arcanist would be Time Mage but I don't know now.

I want Moogles and Vieras as playable races but that's just me rambling. :3

EDIT: lol Yeah, I typed wrong Moogle but it was fun reading the response.

although i prefer mage classes.... bard is a very sympathetic class i think...

bard is a class which is neither a mage nor a melee fighter class...
and we have always some one with us who plays music while fighting.

so i definatley prefer the bard job...

vote for instrumental music while party leveling :)
magic buffs are nothing special, but musically buffs are ;)
