To be fair, the Dragon Quest cross-over was barely a cross-over event at all. It had the Golems from Dragon Quest, sure, but everything else was pretty much FFXIV. The girls, the thug and even ze puff puff.

Why? It doesn't mean that they wouldn't agree to a cross game event. I mean sure, their marketing department sometimes is absolutely clueless (Treasure Planet - looking at you), but maybe they would have their head on straight for this one.
I have long been a cheerleader for a KH3 crossover. I'd actually prefer if they minimized the Disney elements to be honest or make them fit the FFXIV art style (wouldn't be hard - we already have a mad hatter hat after all) .
A Doctor Who crossover would rock. Imagine a fate with a bunch of metal Lalafells yelling exterminate.
On the other hand the dragon quest event in xi literally ripped characters and creatures from that game and inserted them in to xi graphics and all (my first reaction was wondering if I was dreaming about dragon ball characters invading xi.. lol so awkward..)
I'm just saying in terms of what SE is willing to do for their events "it's not Final Fantasy" is not something that comes up in their thought process as long as they can come up with a reason why the event can take place. Kingdom Hearts characters go to all sorts of different worlds so that is a non issue, Hydaelyn and Vana'diel are apperently not so far apart since both Shantotto and Iroha have ended up world jumping (and Iroha is still in Eorzea, wondering what will come of that since i adore her in XI)
Any SE property with a possibility of getting to Eorzea could have an event happen, its just a matter of SE giving them one. I doubt disney would be hugely opposed to having Kingdom Hearts advertised, they /are/ the ones that keep asking for more games.
This is the part where I beg them for a new Soul Eater thing right? Because if they release something new....crossover can happen!
Yeah, it doesn't make sense for them to argue too too much. it's extra advertising after all.Quote:

the trolls here are so obvious.
there are FF characters in KH so an event wouldn't be that strange in principle but, idk about practice.
the only nod we have to it now is the BLM weapon in the gold saucer.
anyway, at least it sounds fun.
imagine how good xehanort and riku replica glamour would look while running void ark.
Everyone has different tastes in video games and that's ok. You dont like a game i like, and there's probably a game you love that i dont. but im not gonna tell you that your opinion is wrong because its different than mine.
and for someone that doesn't like KH, you sure have made a lot of posts in a kh thread.
I just had a fun idea that i wanted to share with everyone. I didn't think it would end up as an angry debate over intellectual property rights and why people hate what they do.
Just let this thread die.
I personally still want this event ;;
maybe when KH 2.5 is released ? :o
Which would be fine. Quest could start at the Armorer guild where a Hyur (or Lalafell) with Sora's hairstyle goes on about having a vision of making a weapon in the shape of a Keyblade (and to get the items, you do an event FATE or some fetch quest or something). It works with FFXIV's lore and still makes nods to Kingdom Hearts.
Don't worry so much, this is the internet, all fun ideas spark angry debating on the internet. This one has been oddly civil and devoid of sacrificing small animals so far, and only two floggings
I'm rather disappointed with the lack of floggings actually..
But yes~ they could easily have a kh themed event without actually having kh characters, and there is certainly enough in the way of prizes they could give out.. keyblades, outfits, minions (shadow heartless minion!) they could even do keyblade armor (Aquas keyblade armor please <3)
From a business perspective, crossover events are promotional ads. Both sides of the partnership making KH would benefit from advertising it. It seems unlikely that Disney would turn that down.
