Healers, will the VIT adjustment for tanks hurt Dark Knights somewhat?

I didn't have great reliability with it, though I haven't tested it lately as I usually consign ET to succor usage. I mean obviously if adlo crits with ET active then that's it, you're pretty much done in that one single heal as the crit shield doubling effect is still applied, but ET makes adlo into a 600 potency heal if it doesn't crit and that's actually the same potency as lustrate. So even though it's 200 more potency than casting a physick in its place it doesn't cover nearly as much as a 600 potency instant thrown on top of a 400 potency physick in the same time.

Still, I haven't actually tested that lately, so it might be worth it to spend a few more minutes with the wasps to see how it does.

My raid's drk is running the str build you were talking about and most of the time off grit even, and last 3 weeks he's been taking A1S's tankbusters with adlo+ shadow wall + DA'd Magic dmg down CD (can't remember the name but it's the one that gives 30% magic dmg reduction on 60s CD) without grit and he's been surviving it with more than enough hp to not die from following 2 autoatacks. So if SE isn't going to buff the incoming damage on tanks with them making all the tanks to run full vit I'm surprised. So I don't think it's gonna end up being like you said, quite not as needed skill.

But hey, its just speculation.

Yeah, Shadowskin (or Shadow Wall) +Dark Arts+Dark Mind for A1S hyper compressed plasma combined with Astro Disable and/or SCH Virus makes the thing hit like a wet noodle nowadays. Living Dead has never been needed for that floor. The only time DRK should ever consider using it is if they are really starved for MP for Dark Arts.

Even as a WAR, vengeance + inner beast reduce the damage to 6-7k. I compensate by using unchained because if I'm going to switch stance, I might as well not reduce my damage too much, but I'm not sure I even have to pop inner beast anymore. It's mostly a safe guards for incompetent healers

We use LD solely for the fact that our whm shouldn't and doesn't need the benedic for anything else so might as well use it for the sake of being lazy :D that also allows for quite a neat time for sch to DoT one or both oppressors depending on party's and war's hp. But yeah if SE doesn't increase dmg incoming to tanks with them making vit the go to stat I can't see "tank busters" to be even remotely threatening

I tried that today. I had never had a DRK use LD while I heal (my FC doesn't have DRKS lol). Healing LD with Scholar was a bit stressful since I knew I didn't have high burst healing, but I found it's not that bad. The "advantage" Scholar has is that not only are you getting a 600 pot heal with Lustrate and a 400 pot with Physick, but Eos will also pop a 300 pot heal at almost the same time. If you Rouse and use Fey Illumination in preparation for a Living dead, you should be able to heal the tank with no problem in conjunction with your fairy. Heck, you can even just pop one Physick, one Lustrate and leave the fairy to do the rest if you Rouse her.

Another important thing to consider is that with proper CD usage from the DRK and Adloquim timing + Virus/Disable, LD shouldn't be necessary, specially now that tanks will be walking sacks of HP.

And remember that if you're using EoS... She can provide 20% magic defense if placed correctly
Which can help in case of huge magic damage XP

I tend to prefer being AST for a1s
Synastrie do the job perfectly for the prey
And even if my tank got LD triggered...
There is always more or less 8 sec left on synastrie so.. Essential dignity + benefic II under the +20% heal is more than enough to top him

The only thing I'll say here is don't rely 100% on the fairy. Even if you macro her embrace she will still sometimes throw it out to other raid members regardless of timing or your intent. Also LD is only very rarely used as a "safety net", but generally more as a planned method to push DPS, in which case it's usually planned to run alongside Bene or, in the case of A4S, SCH limit break (which also immediately removes it). I've seen if triggered as a safety a few times in raids, but with two healers it's generally a negligible effort to heal.

I saw it happen once in a dungeon with a pull that got out of hand, but I can't even remember the last time I saw Eos in a dungeon, let alone a change to set up illumination on a trash pull. Honestly trash pull LDs might be the hardest use of LD for a SCH to single heal, in which case all I can say is use those lustrates (I do not advocate Dissipation).

I don't have a problem with LD either way, it's just not even needed when they arguably have the best cooldown with DA+DM for most of savage's magic busters. Now I have solo healed A1S and the double/busters mechanic, they both give me Holmgang and LD. Holmgang is de-facto perfect since they can equilibrium heal immediately after as well and go back to Deliverance.

The fact that there was an argument about whether or not benediction healed 100% of hp just made me cringe and shake my head in shame... Guys please... You're really breaking my heart.

Sorry! I accidentally added an extra digit and just threw in a random number for the sake of explanation. I had to look on lodestone...prior to getting my anima weapon i had 21,406 HP. I'm sure it's probably 100 points higher with the anima equipped.

Oh yeah, I agree that relying on the fairy 100% isn't wise, but it at least makes the first GCD spent on LD a 700 potency instead of 400. It's unlikely that she'll prioritize anyone else while the tank is at 1 HP, so we at least have that. I agree on Dissipation too. Dissipation is a very situational "oh s***" button. The only time I've actually gotten a great mileage out of Dissipation was a Thordan run in which LB gauge got to like 80+ or something. Fey Illumination + Dissipation, Adloquium on Defiance+Convalescence WAR. It turned out to be a Critical. We barely made it. Got lucky with the RNG gods on that critical, though.

That's literally the only time I've ever used Dissipation with a serious application, though. I don't think it's needed at all for LD.

I figured that was the case, was just teasing with you ;)

I'd imagine the devs would probably introduce a +% incoming health restoration effect to the Living Dead buff to make it easier for healers to top off the tank. Possibly along with a reduction in the amount of damage taken so mobs can't just immediately knock down the healer's efforts to save the DRK in the meantime.

You mean....Convalescence? :D

What I wonder is.. While the reality is that tanks prefer STR these days, by design tanks have been meant to wear VIT even before the patch (what I mean with "by design" I refer to tanks being able to only need vit-gear, while others cant). In that regards, by the design, there is no increase in tanks vitality from what it was meant to be when the skill was introduced, which makes it odd people cry out for adjustments due "chance".
