No don't nerf it. I enjoy watching him barf all over ppl
Thanks to this thread, I'm mentally confusing the words "barf" and "nerf".
Please barf Cuchulainn SE.
If anything they should buff Echidna to not be a laughing stock difficulty-wise.
It's really not difficult. DF is a character building experience even if it can be frustrating. The main issues I've seen on this boss is when people stray from their groups pointlessly. the arena can be easily divided into 3 segments and if you don't run around in a panic you will never out range your healers. You can pretty much stack on top of each other for 90% of the fight. The only other issue is people not paying attention or focus targeting to know when to not be in front of it or when large raid damage is coming so they need to stack on the healers.
Nothing in this raid is difficult you just need to memorise the fight like everything else. It's the same each time with very few variances.
They need to stop using iLvl as the main gate. That's too farmable, and power creeps constantly upwards. Gate with a string of required clears. It won't stop everybody from just being carried, but it will reduce the number that get through the cracks without learning to actually play the game first. This game already uses the simplest, easiest to grasp "combat" system (I can barely even call it that with how ridiculously simple and dull it is) on the market. If people seriously can't even manage that... then I don't actually know what. Stay on XIV I guess, just in lower instances? I would send them to a simpler MMO but there isn't one.
DO NOT NERF
I have never been in a group that could not make it to the end of the instance :O So where is this half the groups can't make it past the third boss coming from? It certainly doesn't seem like it to me. Then again, it's the only boss with mechanics that do anything, so... maybe that's it.
I've been caught in the center of the barf zone a couple of times due to tunneling and not seeing him turn, so from experience: It might not be that people aren't trying to get out of it. You can pop sprint and start running out of it the instant it starts and still die. Those stacks build up fast.
And I've seen groups just fail miserably on this. Still fine with the difficulty as is.
Day one was the only wipe I saw there and I've done multiple runs per week, almost all in DF... (Day one had two wipes to tree+sawtooth). Closest call recently was a run last week where a difference alliance wiped to each boss and the other two alliances pulled out the win each time. I think by Cuchulainn the final alliance did it on purpose, since they all stood in the vomit.
Its the best fight in there, doesn't need a nerf.
I quite like Chuchu, he's a fun boss. I'd really prefer it if people would stick together a bit, so I could use Eos to her full extent, but can't have everything. Sure, the first time you fight him it can be a bit iffy, especially if you get barfed on. Thankfully, lustrate+fairy+leeches solves that.
I think it's a wanting to learn issue. I'll give my sister as example; she's casually leveling a ninja. She's enjoying the game but doesn't play all that often. Recently we went into Stone Vigil, which is the first instance (afaik) that uses moves without orange markers. The first boss does that 'run to the wall and breathe on the room' thing, the last boss does a stomp or something. It's not hard, but she got hit by them so I told her to use /focustarget to keep track of boss HP/castbars. Her reply was 'Nah, that's too much effort. I don't play that much anyway.'. I'm now a sad sister. I'm also worried about how she'll ever deal with Coincounter.
My first week doing Void Ark was actually at this boss each time I got in. I never even did the previous ones until later. I didn't get my mapping achievement for a bit after it came out! By now though people should have the iLV to heal it. It was rather intense on my first go as a white mage. No need to nerf, just when the boss goes all exorcist on you, try to move..unless the tank rotates the boss around thinking it helps him dodge attacks! .....
Hah yes, very likely. Sadly, even when not-caring becomes an issue it can be compensated by people that do care. I'd suggest more bosses like Coincounter & Chuchu in duty finder, maybe with special achievements/rewards for not getting hit by barf/eyelasers/swings/whathaveyou, in the hope that people will want to improve.
It's just 2 things.
Make sure you are always facing its ass.
Stand on platform when ground turns green.
Coincounter is harder because it's so dark in AV.
Dont nerf. Please not. Its easy enough.
Realy XD, nerfing this... how this can be asked, you can't be serious.
it's so easy, i think Crystal tower was harder and was already easy content...
I think Void is like a Nerfed Crystal tower.
No
/10char
It's easy OP. If you are crap then you should do the following;
1 - GIT GUD
2 - Don't do VA
3 - GIT GUD
4 - Cancel your sub
5 - GIT GUD
6 - Stop whining
7 - GIT GUD
Better to have no solution than a cliché response in my opinion.
Nerfing content that needed skill caused the problem but "get gewd skrub or unsub" has less than zero value.
My solution is gradually add skill checks back to content until we have dungeons worthy of the title "EX Roulettle" and stop nerfing thing that don't need it. The only things that need nerfs are fights that are stupid broken or screwed by RNG. Aka Alexander Savage and prepatch T5's twisters.
Make it cast pestilence every minute.
He doesn't need to be needed... D:
I find that the fights that are more challenging are always the most fun, and it's always quickly out geared anyway.
He doesn't need to be nerfed*
It all began from December 17th, 2013. Grrraaaaaarrrghhh! Iron Giants ran like crazy rabbit, human learnt to expect drama in 24-man instance.
I just get a little sick of "Get Gewd" as a answer for a lot of things. That's the same answer given by the few teams who can consistently beat Alexander Savage give to the above average teams who are (rightfully so) claiming that Alexander Savage is even above hard core levels of difficult.
Being Anti nerf if fine, I'm against it too, and I ment my specific wording to sound like a joke and it seemed they took it that way, but get good is never an answer, its a denyal of a problem. Which is a problem in and of its self.
True, but the IGs xenowind was referring to were the Behemot ones I think ;D
It's still fun to see IGs pop right off the bat for atomos though, because people can't get behind being 4 on a pad :D
it all depends on the content. People asking to nerf already faceroll content (24 man raid, regular dungeons, or maybe even alexander normal) should indeed just "get better" as the skill floor isn't exactly high to begin with.
For Alexander Savage (3) which skill floor is way above the skill level of many of us, "get good" is just becoming an insult rather than a real answer.
Please nerf Sastasha NM too
Captain Madison too OP
This thread is everything wrong with the community.
Yes, people suck at this game. But rather than have any content that gates bad players you want to nerf everything so it's a faceroll. Well guess what, with that kind of game design those bad players will follow you through every instance you ever do. Nobody will ever learn anything, and you'll be stuck in an easy game for babies that's nothing but straight hallways you can autoattack your way through. And if you try to teach anyone anything they'll probably report you for harassment.
Keep the chu chu train where it is. It's fine, it's easy, and one good healer can carry the entire raid anyway. If you wipe once, it's because the healers were assuming the party was better than they are or they just weren't paying attention. It happens. If you wipe more than once, it's because you had at least 20 bad players out of 24 and you do not deserve to clear that content.
ANYONE asking for nerfs to ANYTHING doesn't realize just how high the skill ceiling of this game is above what's required by existing content.
Well get even more sick. This thread is stupid to begin with and the "Get Gwed" response is because people are tired of reading crappy threads and silly opinions about nerf after it has be discussed over and over again.
Only content that is messed up in the game right now is alexander savage. All other content in the game is relatively easy. Nerfing content does not make up for people just being lazy and not bothering to do the content. Hoping others will just do it for them.
I can say this after witnessing an entire party screwing around while the other two party did all of the work in VA.
Get Gwed, Git Gud, You Sux whatever the response is it's because people who complain about nerf fail to see anything other then their own narrow pov.
This is where I call both camps out as being wrong. "Nerf it cause people suck" and "Gate it till scrubs git gewd" are both wrong stances when the TRUE problem is an actual Ballence.
We have either "faceroll" or "WTF!?!" Difficulty but no where between and no Ballence with the two either. There is lies the real problem in lack of Ballence difficulty and thus what actually needs addressing.
Though "Get Gewd" is a bit of a gimmick, the core concept behind it is the proper one.
If the content is designed correctly, you should just have to practice to beat it, with the help of vertical progression, everything becomes playable to everyone eventually. Of course we have things like A3/4S that were just way overtunned and screw that up. But if people actually progressed their skill, instead of just their ilvl, then it would work.
I think people who make it to endgame, (meaning past 60, and especially by ilvl 200) and don't know basics of their role, to be very selfish and inconsiderate. But I really despise is people who enable that. (Not just in game, I don't take the game that seriously, but life in general). You should try to help people get better at things, not just dismiss them as being bad or unskilled and say "Hey, its ok to not try!". If someone has reached their ceiling that's fine, they have tried, and thats what counts. Telling them to not bother trying is a terrible thing to do to a person, and everyone who has to participate in the related activity with that person.
By asking for nerfs to simple fights like this one, that is what the OP is doing. She is worse in my perspective, because she's not even doing it to one person, but the entire playerbase of this game.
Sorry, if that's a bit confuzzeled up there, wrote it out between hunt zergs.
