Sorry if I was unclear? What i meant was that having it "break" when we removed it is fine (for anti-theft) so long as they make it available to us through the calamity salvager should we need to break it and re-buy it ourselves.

It's an anti selling real money things for game money thing. They make it get destroyed on pickup to try to prevent players trading it to others. Say, if you share a FC house, and both have housing privileges, one person could place, and the other person could pick it up, as a form of trade. If it gets destroyed on pick-up, this does not happen.
If they needed to make it destroy able as an anti-theft mechanism, then they shouldn't have made it a furnishing, simple as that. I'm sure it would have sold well as a minion or a hat or an outfit, but it's scary spending that kind of money for something that you could lose so easily. And I don't like the whole "if they have housing, they'll stay subscribed to log on and keep it" idea, because we shouldn't feel forced into staying subbed when we want to take a break, especially in the case of things outside of the player's control preventing access to the game.
They could have sold the plushie without any bonus.
I see what you're saying, but that isn't going to stop people from buying a plushie for the code, which we all know is often the case. It's basically arguing semantics. Whichever of the two items holds the most value to you is the thing you're ultimately spending your money on.
Greetings,
Thanks for pointing this out. After investigating this we found that there was an error in the description for the hatchling lamp and it has been corrected.
This item will not be destroyed upon removal; however, the owner may lose access to the furnishing under the following conditions:
- If it is removed from the estate by another player.
- If the owner leaves, or is discharged from, the free company.
- When losing access to a shared estate.
- In the event that the estate is demolished.
We apologize for the confusion this may have caused.
It's the same warning they slapped on to all furnishings. Basically to avoid these situations:
1. Don't share an estate with a jackass, or put it in the free company house where jackasses have access to decorating the house.
2. Make sure to take the thing with you if you leave your free company, don't be a jackass and get kicked from it, and don't join a jackass FC that would kick you for lols.
3. See number 1.
4. If you plan on quitting long enough that you'll lose your house, but wanna keep your furnishings "just in case" you come back at some point, take them out of your house before you leave.
This is excellent news, thanks!
This is great news.
But on a side note lets just abolish this "Breaks on pick up" stuff while we're at it. It makes no sense. Once its placed you cant sell it yea.. but the breaking is just unnecessary. There are better ways in game to keep it from trade. Certain tags keep items from storage.
It could have very well been a case of miscommunication from the Dev team to the Store team. The Dev says something like "standard furnishing rules apply" and then one of the people passing it or even the person who wrote up the ad thinks that includes "breaks on removal." The wording is stupidly common on furnishings.
Yeah sounds like a easy mistake, just copying the wrong preformatted text and then running with it for the announcement.
Unless buy the plush was for the sole reason of getting the in game item (guess some people have money to burn), then you didn't pay anything for the item as it a bonus along with the plush. They mostly would of charged the same price for the plush even if it didn't have the bonus item with it.
@RaideDuku: Can you at least be a bit more serious? Its no joke and "things" can happen even if you don't like it to happen! Your points are not the norm and pinpoint just one possibility of many, so please stop trolling and take it a bit more serious! thanks. Well... if you like to keep trolling we can make it into a war and i will give to each points possibility's too where you did not violate any "security" issues!
He was being mostly serious, with the exception of adding jackass to every sentence..
- If you placed the item in your Free Company, and are removed, you will lose the item.
- If you placed the item in your Personal Room, and are removed from your Free Company, I'd imagine the furnishing would end up on w/e NPC that stuff goes to.
- If you placed the item in your Personal House, if tenants have privleges to move furnishings, they can remove it.
- If you placed the item in a Personal House that you have tenant privleges in, you will lose the item, if those privleges are revoked.
These are things to consider before placing the furnishing.
It means I think...
1) If someone else in FC/shared house removes it and now it's in their inventory, can't be traded back to you cuz of binding (unless put in coffer or replaced)
2) If the owner of the chocobo furnishing leaves/discharged from company w/out retrieving it (since it's "bound" and they aren't in FC anymore no way to get it back)
3) If the person is removed from shared housing w/out retrieving it before hand can't get it back due to it being bound inside that house and no way for you to retrieve it.
4) If estate is demolished all items go bye-bye.
Kind of hijacking the thread a little, but can we get any updates regarding the "considerations" or removing "furniture destroyed upon removal" please? Pretty sure one of the mod mentioned it wayyyyyy long ago, but we haven't gotten any update regarding said issue.
I've always despised that function. It's beyond counter-productive and is absolutely unnecessary. I don't even like placing fixtures because of the "you lose it once you place it" crap. If I make a diamond chandelier, it should be my right to move it from my personal room in the FC house to my private house.
