yeah but i don't want to log in to empty server 90% of the day every day and only be able to have a normal server count during the 6pm-12a.m time. those are the hours i rather be relaxing eating dinner with family or watching some tv, not playing, and worse off not beign forced to show up cause it's when the server goes live. not a rant to you if it sounds that way just stating my thoughts to this. i just hate the idea of seperate servers, i hate all mmo's that have this, i end up in empty guilds that only log in for 4hrs then log out for the 2days a week they run events. it's horrible. and worse off there isn't other people from other cultures to step in so we can't just say FU i'll just go here, it's a monopoly of retards that get there way.

"I wanted to provide more details on how the servers will work because when I briefly explained about data centers it looks like there were a lot of players that had questions about it.

What's going to happen is a player will be shown a complete list of worlds. Within the list, players will see which worlds are tied to which data centers (i.e. this world and this world is tied to the data center in Japan, this world and this world is tied to the data center in North America or Europe). Players will have the freedom of selecting any world they prefer.

This means that they can select a world that’s in the data center in their own region or they can select a world that's based off of one in another region. For example, I would choose a world based in Japan because the data centers are physically closer to me. On the other hand, a North American or European player may choose a world based off of their data center centers to keep the lag to a minimum.

So let me make it clear that we're not separating the worlds by language. For those who want to play with players outside of their region, they will have the choice of selecting a world that's located in another region. Also, through the content finder, you will be able to select a language preference so for those who only wish to play with players that speak the same language, all they have to do is set the language preference to the language of their liking."

ummm you might say that, but doubt that will change anything on how they have the servers and regions set up. I mean I am agreeing with you, I love the global servers. I have a high feeling that this will not be changed because of all the money already put into the data centers.

Edit: Also if you really want to play with friends you still can just coordinate with them and all roll on the same server, on whatever world you want to. It doesn't stop you from playing with the community you want to play with. I highly doubt it will highly impact your game play, You can still choose where ever you want. So your community is still yours to choose.

Again I do like the XI XIV global servers but honestly It won't affect my game play... I will still play with my friends and make new ones in the new community. It's what I like meeting new people and playing with my friends together. I won't miss people that I never talked to or interacted with. SOooooo I guess it doesn't really impact me since who I will play with has already been decided we will stick together.

I would choose a little lag over listening to languages i cant understand in chat log all day. i live in the UK but would rather play on a NA server if it means i dont have to see french german italian spanish japanese languages in my chat box. Sorry but this just spoils my fun within an mmo completly when there is a language barrier.

So if people would choose less lag in an instant, why force them to endure lag?

Anyone that wants to continue to play with a certain region will be able to continue to do so. And anyone who wants a regional server will get their wish. Everyone gets what they want in this, except for people that are selfish and want to not only play on servers with other regions but also force people in their own region to stay with them against their will.

Just because you can still select a global server with more lag, doesn't mean the people I've played with and got to know will. Heck, even my real life friends will pick the server with less lag, thus forcing me to pick the server with less lag.

If the people you got to know up and leave you, perhaps you should entertain the notion that they weren't really your friends to begin with since they care more about server ping time than playing with you.

That is you and your friends choice to be seperated don't blame SE. You all can choose a server to be on and sure someone might have to make a sacrifice. If you all really want to play together on a "Global Server" with "Global lag" then you all choose a centralized server where most of the friends are located and you all roll/input your characters all on that server. What happens? All of you can still play and not lose playing with each other! Seriously, it isn't that big off a deal. Now if you all want to play on regional servers that again is your choice.

Uh.... Didn't you do that already? your statement like that is, yes, childish. Now a grown adult conversation in the same situation would go "Hey guys what server do you all want to play on?" "this one" "Oh okay, then lets do it" All of you select that server and all of you play together no harm done and it was all consensual and made as a group of adult community decision.
