you need to go outside ALOT more

The only issue I have with unsyncing is second coil savage. Anything else, it's really not that big of a deal. In fact, I love plowing through old content like that, practically unstoppable and everything.
The whole point of 2nd coil savage was to provide a challenge, there's no additional loot or anything tied to it other than an achievement and title, so why allow it to be unsynced and still count? With that said, I still agree with what some others said before, bragging rights are long gone. Anyone who probably cares enough can probably already tell if someone had cleared content unsynced or when it was relevant.
If you care enough about your epeen and have the skill to do T6S-79S in i110 then you should just kill the current Hard Thing and gloat about that.
This is so weird but I am sure I read your words at least a year ago when Coil was nerfed/DFed. I'm not being rude, it's just amazing how the same arguments are being had repeatedly without those complaining realising that it's cyclical & will always happen.
Elite players have their period of exclusivity when only the best can complete content. That period is the time to revel in your skill. Two years down the line it really doesn't matter. Or at least it shouldn't; if it does then you really need to review your priorities in life.
I agree with your words completely.
I think this is supposed to be trolling the *ahem* 'elite' players complaining in shout chat....
I'm far far from being an elist and I absolutely can't stand "casuals" that embraces unsync clears. Unsync option is giving players a handicap mode: 1) they don't need to get good, like ever!; 2) Unsync option should only become available after you clear it ONCE in sync/normal mode; 3) Unsync clears or nerfed content is a complete slap in the face to vet players when done it when things were "hard".
Sometimes I wonder IF current mobile game apps have a better skill building structure than MMO games....you want new contents? watch Ads or get good or pay more money...IF casuals want to pay more money for easy mode, great, I have less problem with that than just nerfing content so more players can keep playing and hit level caps and still dunno how to play their jobs well.
So essentially this thread is upset that Yoshi P made it easier to obtain the Eorzean equivalent of 8 Ball jackets, Hammer Pants, Furbys, Tamagochis and Pogs.
It's so outdated it's really not that relevant anymore. If it gets more people to go go through the game and catch up with us. I'm fine with this.
I genuinely don't get why people care what other people get to do in an MMO. So what if people clear things in higher gear than you/with Echo/with unsync? Why does that affect you, personally? How little is going on in your life that you need these achievements in a video game and if anyone else wants them they have to earn them the same way you did?
It's not a slap in the face, they had the benefit of having that gear and everything when it was relevant, just as they do now with Savage Alex etc. As I mentioned before with XI, people spent YEARS, and I mean, 5+ years trying to get even a single piece of gear, which later when the level cap was raised, became outdated and people got it in a day without any struggle. Now that should of felt more like a slap in the face. Who would seriously be doing coils if it was still synced now, with gear completely outdated, and having the gear added to craft which is dyeable. Final Coil may be ran for it's glamour still, but then new players would never get the groups together for the Binding and Second. There is seriously no need for the content to be synced still EXCEPT for allowing people to still boast about completing it.
Also, about not being good, sure, but they won't do anything that relevant recently if they aren't good, they will always lack years behind.
Do you also hate all other MMOs that don't even have a sync feature, where you are always the level you have reached with no means of going 'back' in levels when entering old content?
Also, with regards to not getting good ever, please refer to the former list of mechanics just in Coil that are essentially unaffected by being unsynced. Also please tell us how fighting Titan Ex at level 60 means you don't get pushed off if you get hit by Landslide.
Is it wrong that I think almost every thread is troll bait now-a-days?
Nope I do as well. It's why I have this as my signature.

I have a hard enough time finding decent people that want to do coil without level sync as it is. If they got rid of that option I think nobody would do it with me. Anybody that complains about the stuff not being difficult anymore obviously has not even attempted it new players recently lol. As far as SCOB savage, been trying to find a group for that for a while too but nobody is interested. I know one group that has cleared and they aren't interested in doing it again so I don't think level sync really has any effect on people doing that or not.
Maybe the community would be better as a whole if people actually stop caring what other people do or dont. I dont understand why do you even care if they got a title or an achievement or an item 4 months after you got it because they content was nerfed. Its childish. Move on, get over it.
People who validate themselves based on virtual items achieved in content in a vertical progression game are pretty much doomed. Others gaining those things today, more easily than you did a year ago should not threaten you or your ego. You got those things when it was hard, your achievement is safe. Whining about this now just leaves you sounding petty and jealous. Jealous of what? Move on to bigger and better things that those other players can't achieve right now. If you are skilled as you say, lead the way, blaze the trail, stand on your achievements, but do not condemn others to second class status in order to preserve your fragile ego.
An other "Show your big ego" topic ? Great ! Give me my popcorn !
Well, you ARE in the most populated server in the game.
The whole unsyncing thing probably has a lot more to do with people in less populated servers actually being able to find people to do the content with than anything else. It's not like people actually queue up to do outdated content synch'd, and if new players do and it turns out they don't meet the expectations of veterans, we end up with a dumb forum thread complaining about why most DPS are bad and other similar crap like that.
Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Bragging rights have expire eventually. Does it make you mad that people can get their kirin in one day? Yet the world continues to turn, good job on the unsync, I don't need to deal with that old content crap now. Much appreciated
I actually hope Unsyncing also rewards experience so we can power level new players and old ones.
From someone who has typically completed the hardest content in WoW when it was available, why the heck does it matter if people complete obsolete content by overleveling/overgearing it years later?
How does it effect your personal accomplishments and your personal gains? Is your happiness limited by how exclusive your accomplishments are? I would take a hard look at yourself. The majority of players do not care if people can easily power through old content when it becomes obsolete.
I represent a extremely big amount of people from several servers that love this new unsync'd function. This has allowed my FC and several other groups the fun of running things like EX primals and Coil when normally cause of their "being grown ups and having jobs" would not be able to waste countless hours trying to perfect the dance routine needed for such content. I love the fact that you have lot's of gear for those "leets" that currently play the top hard levels and understand that someone being prideful over years old content equipment need to grow, get a life and move out of their parents/grand parents basement. Keep up the good work, but maybe make the raid stuff hard and not just some orchestrated dance that anyone with loads of free time could do, thanks!
Even without doing those unsynched it's a whole different experience doing them @ lvl 50 with ilv 130 gear than i110s as originally implemented.
As for OP, completely disagree, not that I have to, since there's no way they can "unopen this can of worms" even if they wanted to. Which they shouldn't.
The stuff part was just trying to encompass both Raids and the new EX primals not made to be an afront to that. And I thought that's how they communicated...how are they to understand me if I don't communicate on their level of speech?
I've found half the fun of hitting higher levels and great gear is being able to revisit -old and outdated- content and smash through the whole thing like it was a walk in the park. Why even have an rpg level system if everything is adjusted to your level anyway?
Sadly I have to disagree.
In MMOs. Old content is just that... OLD
If you remove the perks of achievement, titles, ....
NO one would do it. people getting clears in unsynced parties. Aren't Raiders. Most just want the win one time.. and likely will never do the content again...
These people also don't get the same RUSH of clearing it at 50 cap / When it's current content.
Continue working on new contents. Enjoy that. Don't worry about what others are doing so much.
I disagree, if this was XI I would...having cleared cop pre nerf and the second ls to do so on that server, I can tell you this kind of bling and title bragging is mostly meaningless.
The difference between XI skill and XIV skill is apples and oranges, what you essentially have is a game that is a hybrid of monster hunter with some modern day casual mmo features, it's not a trad mmo where it took people months or years to be 1 of 1 or 1 of very few per server to have gear that actually mattered and titles that really were earned.
I love this game, it's taken some time to adjust to what it really is, but it's the current FF online game, and I understand fully why changes have come and why "serious end game" does not really exist in ANY mmo anymore.
We are living in the modern casual mmo era, we can either integrate as best we can or move onto something else.
No amount of unsyncing is going to save you from instant-kill mechanics. Most TitanEx an LeviEx groups accept a few errors here and there, but if you're consistently failing, you're going to get kicked. So even people who are just clearing and farming now still have to learn those fights. You can basically just sit on your butt in Ifrit, though, I admit.
(that being said, you can survive Levi's big attack without the shield if your HP is around 14k, so not all of them are instant-kill anymore).
I did it a similar thread like this, and people don't seem to get the point.
What I want is not to remove the option to go Unsynced. All I want is to remove rewards from doing content while Unsynced. If someone wants the reward from clearing content, it should be done the way it was DESIGNED to be done, and not by stomping all over it.
It's old, outdated, just for Glamours. Get over it and move on.
I'D LIKE TO REVISE MY ORIGINAL POINT THUSLY:
1) GENERATE AN IMMERSIVE ENVIRONMENT WITH DEEPER STORY AND LESS LINEAR FOCUS.
2) CONTINUE TO DEVELOP A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT FIGHTS, WITH DIFFERENT DIFFICULTIES AND SEPERATE REWARDS. MAYBE MAKE THE REWARDS SUCH THAT THE GIVEN ITEM HAS MORE VALUE THAN JUST GLAMOUR OR TEMPORARY EQUIPMENT.
3) MAKE GEAR MORE VALUABLE IN GENERAL. WHY DO WE HAVE ITEMS THAT LITERALLY LAST LESS THAN 2 HOURS BEFORE REPLACEMENT WITH A BETTER ITEM, BOTH ON VENDORS AND IN DUNGEONS? I THINK THE GLAMOUR SYSTEM IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. FFXI HAD A NICE SYSTEM WITH NOTORIOUS NAMED MONSTERS AND ITEMS THAT WOULD LAST FOR MONTHS THOUGH. MAYBE CROSS THE TWO IDEAS SOMEHOW?
4) MAKE IT AN ADVENTURE TO LEAVE A TOWN -- RIGHT NOW WHEN YOU CROSS A ZONE YOU LITERALLY COULD DO SO WITH ZERO COMBAT. MAKE IT DANGEROUS AN AN ADVENTURE TO CROSS A ZONE, LIKE FORGING A PATH ITSELF IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT. MAKE IT SO WE HAVE TO THINK OF SAFE ROUTES AND STRATEGIES TO GET THROUGH.
I just wish Labyrinth of the Ancients was still cool enough to be ran....
They won't do this, they would literally need to rebuild the game for it to work this way, as much as I would pay tons of real life money to play a "true ff xi sequel" this ain't going to happen.
There is a ton of this I agree with and a ton more I would also add into it to actually give people that "epic feeling of wonder" that we all felt exploring xi world, but this is not going to happen, the hardcore vets all left around late 2007 - early 2009, XI is dead and its not even the same game anymore.
What they need to do is add ENJOYABLE grind content for end game that takes months to complete, that is not pure mindless but actually something we look forward to doing daily or weekly and with the goals truly bringing a feeling of accomplishment, cause right now lets be honest if someone had the ultimate set of gear bling right now they would be standing afk or jumping around bored in idyllshire.
