that a4s weapon will be trash too, come 3.2, what's your point? Welcome to vertical progression
Bear in mind, 3.15 is a mini-patch between major patches. Everything in it was likely already made during 3.1 and was just waiting to be released. Patch 3.1 did have entirely new gameplay (Diadem, Verminion), but the problem is a lot of people simply don't like it. The devs chose to make all the new content available outside of the relic quest. There are two sides to this. One, people can enjoy the group content without grinding through a check-list of mobs and quest steps to unlock it. This is a bonus to some people. The other side of the matter is that the people who enjoyed the old quest-grind-trial model didn't get the play experience they hoped for. Would you have liked the relic quest more if it had been released in 3.1 and if it had included unlocking the Diadem and coin farming?
The relic being outdated (i.e. equal to other weapons) is expected though. Otherwise new players would never be able to get into raiding on an equal footing and the already small raiding scene would suffer. For the new player it would feel like the housing situation: too late to get a fair chance. I don't think the relic will be left completely behind though. There will be more steps to do in future patches. 210 item level will give a nice boost to tackling 3.2 content. The point when the relic will really be outdated is at the end of the expansion.
with my 7 zeta just becoming glamour pieces I cannot imagine spending the time and gil to even finishing one of these things through the entirety of 3.x
Cannot imagine being done in just a few days. That is...dedication? ....is that the word I'm looking for?
Yep, I will just stick with dedication...
The relic being "outdated" doesn't just mean that if you have your i210 version it becomes the lesser model to all the higher item level stuff that gets released in 3.2... it's actually that the majority of players (with the exception of this random Japanese nobody that apparently has plenty of time on his hands) will still be holding onto the i200 version, working on the i210, when all the i215-225 stuff gets released. Meaning they'll still have to catch up to what's released currently before moving onto the next step. This wouldn't be an issue if the relic was released earlier in this... [I'm not even gonna call it an expansion, it's just a content patch...] patch's lifespan. With that said, and this is where a lot of peoples' frustrations lie, it also wouldn't be such a punch in the face for those (like me) who refuse to grind continuously like this guy did if it was in fact released... I don't know... 3-4 months ago? Then we wouldn't be doing a couple more month's worth of daily grinding that we really could have, and should have, already been able to be doing so that normal people would be finishing it up just before, or right about when, 3.2 gets released. I don't know anyone who wasn't disappointed when patch notes rolled out for 3.1 and saw that relics weren't included there. Obviously they already had this shit made, and there's no reason they couldn't have released it 2-3 months after HW went live. "But they were on vacation!" So, they couldn't have had one person go into the office and hit the button to apply the changes to the live servers during any of the random maintenance periods? The whole thing is just sloppy. It's not what I expect from the development team that turned around a project as miraculously as can be said for how the original Final Fantasy turned around Square's future from the very beginning.
TL;DR I share the sentiments of the OP this post. I love this game for what it is. It's a Final Fantasy, and the base structure of that is what keeps my subscription... for now.
Aside from what is pretty on point in the rest of your post, this in itself is dubious. I don't know wtf kind of work ethic they have in Japan but there's no way in hell your entire staff can take off in America, especially if it affects production deadlines. I honestly doubt what they say about vacation is even remotely true.
As expected, There is always somone who forgoes any sleep or any other activity so they can get what they want. I actually expected 3 days, But this is close enough.
The ironic part of this statement is the fact relic quest has been casual friendly to this day after 2.0.
For whatever reason (likely casuals who think killing hard mode, or extreme primals were too hard), we no longer had primal fights as a requirement for anything involving the relic. Ever since then, we never had a skill wall to climb for relic. Just chores. And now you want to say these are 'less casual'? The relic since atma was made for casuals who'd rather do something mind-numbing instead of challenging.
I'll make a separate thread of this suggestion in time, but people who actually climb the skill walls that is alex savage, or at least thordan ex in this game should be rewarded heavily in progress to their relic, while the casuals who aren't lucky enough to have a static, or suck too bad to do savage can do their chore grind.
All right but I heard there were five steps?
Unless there are five steps TOTAL and I just got confused, I wanna see the next step.
While it could be just one individual going to extremes to get this relic so quickly it could be that there were several different people playing on this one character to complete this grind. Swapping out and taking breaks while the character itself was working almost non stop since the patch.
JP player completes relic. Meanwhile NA player complains on Reddit and Official Forums. ;)
You should look up some articles about Japan's problem with shut-ins, and see that it is very much the opposite of "fine". I am just showing concern for the well-being for anyone who would do this to themselves. It is not jealousy or judgment; this frightens me.
This just proves how nerfed the anima weapon questline is and how insane jp gamers are.
I honestly think the anima quest isnt that hard if this guy made it so early, i wish SE would put more hard and grind content, this isnt really enough and easy obtainable, i seriously dont understand why people complain about it
Haven't seen anyone say its hard.
I have heard:
Bland
Uncreative
Lack of effort put into it
Rehashed
Rehashed
Rehashed
Boring
Overgrind
No story
Not fun
Etc.
But none of these things make it hard the point of the questline is that it isn't hard. If hard is your cup of tea, you have your savage weapon...
Also rating the difficulty of a grind based of the one guy who grinded harder than any one else in the world...
In mathematics, hard refers to the amount of time it takes to complete some task (e.g. NP-Hard) which is what the quoted was referring to. If you read the post you quoted he even specified the ease of being obtainable. Excluding the amount of time it takes for you to complete the fight, then it will take 8 weeks to get any other 210 weapon given your weapon isn't in the loot table and you don't win rolls for the dip (you can buy either after 8 weeks, or the dip should be yours by default on the 8th week assuming you are playing with fair loot rules).
Over time it sounds pretty doable, but I just can't imagine spamming Alexander for 16 hours straight like that. Bless their crazy soul.
My condolences to his/her family and work. They probably havent seen him/her since the update.
It's not the best for black mage either...but in defense of the stats someone told me it's because it will be later when the stats are better like when we can farm content to enhance/change stats. As they told me "look forward to it" lol as of now relic is glamour over esoteric.
wow like really.... I would rather take it slow and steady..... like what's the rush?
It's funny people are calling this player insane for Alexander (or whatever he did) grinding for many hours, yet I bet a lot of English speaking players had no qualms with grinding FATEs for nearly the same amount of time when it came to Atmas, even if they did complain about it later.
It's pretty efficient in my opinion like most of the world achievement speeders, most of us would probably spend 10-100x the time and not be able to achieve the same result. Sure he's been stuck inside a room for X hours but most of would be spending a longer duration in our room in the next few months lol
attention is the main goal of "rush this as fast as possible" to be called 1st or reconized, But this happens every update when something time consuimg or told "it won't be finished quickly" pops up. someone always gets it done quickly.
I already knew a jp player would do it 1st because NA/EU are to busy trying to profit off each other making the mats absurdly expensive. and the other half are here on the forums complaining that it's "to much" and they are going to quit.
Alot of the complaints/threats to quit are from people who are pissed that this is the 'content' that was delayed for about a half a year: grind more of the exact same stuff we got sick of from the past 6 months, and the same grind they knew we hated, and said they wouldn't do again (atma).
For those people, it's not how long it takes which bothers them nearly as much as the sheer volume of old content that's been farmed to death that's required. Naturally, if the grind is this lengthy, and more importantly full of mind-numbing, repetitive, and full of sh** we've done dozens of times for months in the past, people will want it over ASAP.
I see how it's easy for you to confuse the core of the complaints as "too much" if you don't try a little harder to read them.
