This is probably one of the things I'm looking forward to most - the move back to a non-F2P crowd. While it wasn't as bad in FFXIV due to the initial payment for the game most people had to make, I still feel like it did some bad things to the overall community.

If its a whole new game then how do you figure keeping an old game running equates to a beta? A beta is to help test a game before its made available. If it is really a completely new game then you might as well call FFXI a beta for FFXIV 2.0 as well.

Yeah, I find it amazing how many people think the game is worth their 40-50 hours of free time every week, but not worth their money.

I call "BS" on 95% of the people who care enough to stay around posting about the game that they are quitting once they actually have to start paying for their entertainment. I'm kind of glad SE is calling their bluff as well.
