The Cuchulainn fight in Void Ark requires that you jump onto the hovering platforms to stay out of the poison that covers the entire floor when Cuchulainn uses the attack that causes that to happen. So there's one mechanic as an example that requires jumping to avoid it.
Return of the 1.0 graphics. PS4 is actually able to handle it.

"high res textures". These are still pretty damn bad. Define your high res, considering it doesn't really look amazing even for something that was released 3 years ago (yeah, yeah. Officially 5...)
[EDIT] Here is a 1.0 cutscene. It ten times better than the current FFXIV. Not saying 1.0 was better, but things like the cutscenes and the way the story is told is a lot better.

Fixed hair and tail clipping is pretty high up there. That, and some of the weird animations that bard gets using minuet sometimes.
More weather patterns would be cool too.

We need a better sense of terrian. For instance, if standing on a rock, step, or slope, one foot should be raised on it. As of now, everything appears to be on a flat surface and the character will stand on nothing. Also, make mounts "turn," instead of immediately changing direction.
We need Chest hair for Males thats all :P

Texturing the bottom of the feed wouldn't exactly be an impossible feat though. I believe the reason they gave was that they sandals propped you up so you met weren't floating above the ground by a few centimetres at all times, just the way the game was programmed and it's too much of a hassle to change it now I suppose. Similar to WoW's issue with the inability to change the size of the first bag probably.
Every race (Maybe gender too ) have they owns battle animation.
Actual bare feet. No sandals.
On the good side, this is far the mmorpg with better graphics >_>
I'm going to go with hair and clothing physics. After playing PSO2 and seeing the way hair and material flows in that, what we have in XIV feels so disappointing now
While not necessarily a "graphic change", it is related. Being able to turn the camera while in first person without interrupting casts/attacks. I vastly prefer first person gameplay, but it's pretty impossible in this game because you can't look around at all while casting skills without interrupting them. Even if at this point I'd probably stick with third person for hard fights, it'd be nice if I could play easier runs in first person to get a better view and sense of scale in the fights.....
The best opening is still the gridania opening to me, but because the area was so huge and everyone was a ul'dah I just chilled there. Can't deny how much area copy paste there was, still doesn't change that yoshi-p made a better looking FFXI without the amount of things you do and the amazing story it had.
I miss Depth of Field from 1.23. Especially since you cant still have it in cutscenes and /gpose but not in the actual game.
More fine detail in close-ups; if that's "high res textures" then that's a big need. Looking at the House Fortemps emblem on the new glamour shield up close... is sad.

i hate how your character's feet float on steps or stairs. i mean, i know graphically they are trying to convey architecture but really everything is just a smooth ramp up or down. there are no real stairs or steps in this game. your characters animation doesn't move or act any differently. and while it's a small detail, to me it's noticeable and i think even Zelda 64 had Link animate somewhat properly on a stepped surface, where his knees would actually bend so one foot could be on a lower surface and another on a higher one.
it's just a weird detail to leave out and kinda looks cheap.

Oh yeah. Another thing the devs could look into.
When I ride the tortoise (the tortoise mount from GS), the female sitting position will clip my arms through my clothes. Especially really revealing when you're wearing a gown.
Because the female sitting position is like sitting and hugging the knees, the distance between the fabric and legs do not re-adjust, therefore it will stay the same as if you're standing. Now try and imagine you're hugging your knees with your clothes refuse to bend as well. It's ugly and not pretty.
Maybe change the sitting position to another one that doesn't have the arms close the legs, or... clothes physics anyone?
Fix this. Like, what is even happening with my clothing? Can't believe they made half these emotes and was like, "eh that looks good." When MOST of the clothing does this.
Physics.
I have physics for everyone else turned off because of my derpy PC, but I have it on for myself. I hate when I'm in a run like Garuda and my skirt forgets that my legs are a solid object. The direction of the skirt and the way it looks makes sense, but it just seems to forget that legs are kind of a thing.
Bewbs.
I have my character's bust set to smallest. I hate when I come across clothes that automatically change my breast size to 50% or 100%. It's more of a consistency annoyance than anything.
