They said in the notes that it will come, I belive they said they'll make Company primals summonable when you've defeated them

This was not totally unexpected. It is quite obvious that SE is in full developement mode for V2.0 and everything between now and then is geared for that event. This is a massive and expensive undertaking that they are fully committed to. Charging subscription fees now is just a method of offsetting some of these costs so they are probably not too concerned if the current population drops dramatically. Though I believe they should have honored their commitment to provide use with Patch 1.21 before charging fees I will pay to play. I have enjoyed watching the Dev Team salvage something from the initial trainwreck and begin to form it into something that appears to have a future. I want to continue watch its developement. To Yoshi-P I have only 1 request. Please try to stay on schedule. As it is I will be pushing 66 at the scheduled release of V2.0. I want to make sure I am around to see the final results.
Oh, oh, another one!
Will the environment overhaul have a thematic justification or associated storyline, or just be quietly implemented and treated, in-story, as if it's always been so?
Thanks for the preview on FFXIV 2.0, i think its the way to go.
my question is if FFXIV 2.0 is tecnically prepared to allow player swiming, or personal methods of flying or sailing.
OK Yoshida-san, you want feedback, well here you go.
Concept Art:
Looks fantastic in general. Good job overall. But, I am not a fan of the Male Miqo'te concept drawings. And this is why.
Conceptually and physically, Female Miqo'te are extremely feminine in form. Out of all the females currently available in the game, they are the most feminine.
Your concept of Male Miqo'te is androgynous. And as such, it overlaps Lalafell Males who currently are the least masculine male available in the game.
Also on that scale Lalafell Females are the least feminine and most androgynous of the females available in game.
See the problem? You have a style mismatch within the race and an overlap with another race. The most feminine females in the game are paired with the least masculine males. Also, now you have two extremely androgynous boyish-looking males ... Lalafell & Miqo'te.
Now I'm not saying make Male Miqo'te look like Roegadyn. But you can add one single traditional feline male feature which will make Male Miqo'te less androgynous. Simply draw them with manes. Make their hair just a bit larger and bushier than female Miqo'te. And that will make them much less boy-like, and lore-wise give the highly feminine Female Miqo'tes a historical psychological reason why they mate with them instead of more masculine Highlanders & Roegadyn or more boyish Lalefells ... no other male race has a mane.
Just some feedback.
EDIT: If you want to see an example of what I'm talking about, just google Thundercats.
I know this is probably out of the question, but I've always liked playing a Lalafell (Tarutaru from FFXI); however, I find that they're not as "cute" as they used to be. They look a little too much like small children. Is there any plans to change some of the current character designs, aside from the graphic upgrades in 2.0?
To SE: Amazing... Thank you for your hardwork! I will gladly support FFXIV 2.0s development! Die hardcore FF fan since Super Nintendo and this looks like it will be a FF amongst the best FFs!
To the players who are complaining about paying: Save us your crying and good riddance, don't let the door hit you on the way out you cheapos :3
Guess I'll leave my thoughts here.
First, the good: version 2.0 seems to be looking pretty promising, overall. It looks like it's addressing all the main issues and is hitting most of the right notes. If everything is followed through on, it seems like it'll turn into something I'd be willing to pay for.
On minor concern is the comment regarding turning all dungeons into instanced raids. As someone who does like open world content and who also likes to be able to poke around and explore from time to time, I do hope that there will still be some open world stuff and the occasional public dungeon.
A major caveat: for me, personally, it's going to be hard to justify paying for a year of what is essentially a continuing beta while everything gets rebuilt, though that may depend on costs - I might be willing to pay a reduced cost during the rebuilding phase, but full price is going to be much harder to justify.
Either way, though, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on development and will at least check out 2.0 when it's released.
I have no questions as the first one would be my only one.
I have one demand.
Please give a hug to the guy who did the UI for this concept. Its gorgeous.
That will be all =)
When are we getting Great Swords and Scythes?
"our new graphics engine will allows to maintain high level of graphic quality while allowing us to optimize for PS3"
so in otherwords, you really are just dumbing things down to make it work while using the word "Optimize" to disguise it eh?
You couldn't just dumb down the current engine for the PS3? If you could make the PS3 run Crystal tools with FFXIII, I really don't see how you can't with XIV with just optimizations to the current engine and leaving us PC players who've paid a lot of money for high end hardware where we are.
Because I really truly doubt you'll deliver the quality of the concept screenshots.
Even the texture quality of these so-called "Concept screenshots" look suspect.
AND the line "The new graphics engine will cause certain objects to be displayed differently than they do in the current version. Because of this we will allow current players to re-customize their characters *Summarized*"
Seems VERY suspicious if you ask me!
It's almost like "We are making your characters look potentially worse, so you may not like them any more. In turn we'll allow you to remake your character"
Yes, since this is undoubtly becoming FFXI-2,I hope we get these weapons. I for one, dislike the current selection of "Dinky swords until high ranks"
"Worldless server model" , now I hope this just doesn't mean "now, everything will be super congested"
and that it actually means people will just be able to party up/sell/bazaar things cross-worlds without congesting the playing field with mountains of players. Think"Ragnarok online"
PvP seems like it will be a waste on me too. I hope to god it's consentual PvP only and not the broken gunk some games like Aion do where you can just get randomly raped by passing by people.
PvP in generally just leads to people acting like they do in online FPS games. Like dicks to each other "OMG LAG" "OMG NOOB USED *X* weapon!"
This is my take on the whole billing thing. Yoshida said it himself that the games has only 50% of the content. So i would be willing to pay for half the billing charges. SE did not realease a full game so why should I pay for one. I already put in enough money and feedback to help maintain this game. I definitely didn't get what i paid for in september of last year. Also if this is to be an investment into the future i would like to know more infomation. I really liked what i have seen so far but i would like to see a bit more and have a clearer understanding.
i worry that when the P2P comes in too many ppl will disappear till 2.0. i will be sticking around. well for the first month for sure. but if the game does as a fear become a ghost town. then i also will come back in 2.0. another fear of mine is if every1 that does stay does do as i do. will it ever get to 2.0?
Excuse me for judging based on what "Optimize" usually means in 99% of cases with games.
So dont' be a dick because I have realistic expectations of what the words developers use creatively and embellish on what actually happens in the end.
And take a look at other games such as "Aion" They merged servers sometime ago and the game is extremely congested in major towns causing extreme performance losses for lower end hardware.
They've already made statements that have turned out to be false in the past or didn't come true.
Like with the entire plans of making the PS3 version at all, and the original optimizations for making it run on the PS3 such as lowered rendering resolution and lower texture quality. Of which there were already released media/screenshots
You also must have missed the part where I say "I hope it isn't"
meaning there is a small shimmer of promise behind their "words"
and where ALL of what they say in these 2.0 documents is generally VERY VAGUE when it comes to the new engine/changes to character/world appearance.
Umm excuse me? Wtf do you think you are e-thug, calling me a "dick" in public?
Wtf grand delusion are you tripping on?
1: watch how you talk to ppl
2: gtfo this game and forum with your beligerance and "expertise".
Im positive you wouldn't say that to my face if I was standing right in front of you. Know why? Because I would bust your smartelic jaw open.
Stop being an e-thug and filling these forums with your resentment biased opinions. SE has a plan. Let them do their job. If you don't like it then go play another game and don't bother coming back.
I'm not going to state how billing for an unfinished game, blah blah blah, gets old after the first 20 people ask the same question.
Will Version 2.0 be a whole new "game" that we will have to buy? Like the people currently playing right now? Doesn't bother me either way, I'm just curious.
Is this almost the exact picture for battle planned? The concept art with the dragon? It looks amazing and I'll be VERY impressed if it's supposed to look like that.
All this is turning my eyes away from other MMO's right now. I'm a broke, full-time college student. Take my money!
It is interesting that they released all this information, files, plans, and timelines to us the day after SE successfully demonstrated the Luminous Graphic Engine yesterday.
BTW, just google Luminous Graphic Engine to see what the big deal is. If it is half as good as they are making it out to be, it will be a step ahead of Crystal Tools ... certainly won't be a dumbing-down.
I whole heartedly agree with this statement. I too believe full price currently may NOT be the way to go. 7-10$ US I would be willing to pay. I know that SE has lost close to 9 Billion Yen and the advent of the current changes cannot continue without SOME sort of compensation but, Jovy makes a mature and positive assement in regards to billing the players who bought as I did CE and did not get what we paid for nor did the retail release folks.
I think what SE, Wada and Yoshi have done is fantastic especially after this latest 1.19/a patch but slow the roll so to speak and think before something else negative occurs. Maybe a bit of a "Hey what do you guys think is fair?" type post or official poll or something should be posed? I again, do not think free should continue, as nice as it is but a full price for an unfinished anything is not acceptable. You wouldn't move into your house if it was unfinshed or attempt to drive off the lot with your half built automobile would you? ;) Just sayin'.
I copy and pasted this off the Lodestone for you:
The New FINAL FANTASY XIV and the PlayStation®3 System Version
"Between October and December of 2012, we plan to integrate the current service and the coming PlayStation®3 version into the all-new FINAL FANTASY XIV. At this time, a second free trial period will also be offered.
Among our new plans is the fundamental reworking of in-game maps. As part of this process, there will be a period required for switching over to a new client and new servers, after which there will be a large transfer of data when service is brought back online. After the new client is completed, new software for the PC version will be distributed online, and can be acquired free of charge. Character data and progress for players already playing the PC version will also be preserved, allowing those players to continue using their in-game avatars. Another announcement will be made in the future as the day on which the new FINAL FANTASY XIV software will become available for download draws near, and the PlayStation®3 system version officially released. "
1) Will the current crafting system ever be adjusted so as not to be a mashfest on standard synthesis? It takes way too long to craft even a single item with relatively small yields in exp; the current system only encourages users to bot to advance.
2) In the upcoming 1.20 patch that overhauls HQ materials and gear, will our current +3 materials be converted to HQ materials?
You can has my credit card if you want, Yoshi. ****-****-****-****
Although, I agree to come extent of what people are saying. All these changes look amazing and will definitely bring in a new flock of people, but they'll most likely come in after 2.0 is released being half the people on this forum refuse to pay.
I was here at release and I'll be here to see all the changes. Can't wait.
Please, give me the slightest hint if you plan on releasing Blue Mage. That's all I want from you :(
Also, if the game looks like that screenshot posted then I don't think I'll be doing anything else besides playing this game.
I just have a comment:
+1 for level capped instances!!!
My question is... Is there a plan to have more than 7 jobs avaliable for version 2.0, or sometime before/after?
You've made this mistake before square. Why would you start charging the same week that yoshida said that this game is at 50%? I'll buy non-SE products to fill my time while I wait for this game to be 110%.
Quote:
I want virtually no lag.
I want more than the tacky blue background for the UI.
I want PS3 version.
I don't want the wards as they are now, if I have to run to any retainers this is a no go.
I want them to remove stat variables based on color of equipment.
I want more recipes.
I want more equipment. Complete phase out of dated equipment.
What is it with the XI/XIV community making the most ridiculous generalizations about PvP? People act like dicks when it comes to MMOs whether it be PvE or PvP, only difference is that a PvE douche will steal your drops or kick you from a PT while a PvP douche will just beat you down at no real consequence to you (maybe your pride). It's not open PvP anyway, doesn't affect people who aren't interested.
Okay here I go! "dives in"
1) With billing you mentioned more information at a later date. But I would like to know what sort of changes e.g "we will be stopping click and buy services etc"
2) I have grown quite attached to my character. I'm one of those people that loves to mess around on sliders for hours (I exaggerate there a bit) making my character just they way I like it (fallout 3 was very bad for me wasting my time lol) will you be adding to existing model archetypes? or will you be removing some?
3) How much of our characters will be exported to the new game I.e will any aspects be left out of classes/jobs when 2.0 is launched?
4)You mentioned you will be handing out 2.0 free of charge when it is released. Will this be a download update or a posted copy to existing members?
5)Will there be any special items for members that started on original release? (like me :D) wouldn't have to be something major but a nod to community that started way back in September 2010 would be nice :D
I'm sure there lots of questions I have but they will have to wait or I've deemed them not too important. anyways all of this should be interesting to see and with that Good health "Drinks some tea"
From the last Q&A list I could see that some question come in form of 'asking" too right? so here is my part:
1.Please give a way for R50 DoL(gatherer) and R50 DoH(crafter) to be able to form spirit bond. Currently, only R30-40 could get spirit bond well, while R50 face nearly impossible wall to spirit bond.
2.You removed "evasion" from equipment, so do you plan to make any balance adjustment for "light equipment" to have something equally reward for its loss of "Defend" compare to "heavy equipment" ?
Dear Yoshi-P
You have announced "Market improvements" for 1.20, Could you be more specific as to what type of improvements we can expect? Will this be an Auction House, or will the Auction House not be available until 2.0?
I would like to play as a male miqote and I would like to have the option to have a more masculine bodied one. I just look at the concept art and see all the Japanese male classmates I go to school with here in Tokyo, one actually looks creepily like the concept art... Now I don't mind the models as they are but at least have 1 body option that is a bit more beastly looking I want the option to choose
I'm currently a high-level player but I have a few friends that are waiting on the PS3 version, who will be starting anew. By the time the PS3 version hits I will probably be out of low-level classes and will be unable to assist them with a lot of things in the current game aside from PL'ing. Will there be a lot of content that I can do with them at low and mid-levels that I won't be able to trivialize with my high level?
Are there any plans to re-introduce Level Sync? I have no problems with Powerleveling but it's a lot more fun to be a full-fledged party member...

Cheers that's, that question done with. I have egg on my face now though since I did read it all. lol I'll blame that I'm working on something right now to excuse my self :D
The new changes are amazing and I cant wait to try these out, especially the pvp zone. Wont need Rift to fix my pvp needs, now i can play FFXIV for the Pve and Pvp.
I agree with holding out for pay tell. 2.0 UNLESS you all will be putting out just an onslaught of new content in that time. And my only other question would be are we buying 2.0 as a expansion or players currently don't need to buy it?
Other then that breath taking sooner the better i rather have the game go down for a week and come back re done then wait a year + that's just me~
PLEASE info on the LS system changes " set for 2011 sept-oct "?
