This is the 'filthy casual' people seem to want to blame for the rash of failures. I'm a 'filthy casual' and I got everything I wanted out of Alexander a month or so ago. The problem isn't the people who waited whether due to schedule or prior engagements. It's the overgeared 'hardcore raiders' trying to push phases. One of the members of my company, someone more casual than I, tried healing Alexander recently and has shared that people are getting the worst kind of tunnel vision. Focusing on only one of the bosses and ignoring the spiders in Floor 1, ignoring the bombs in Floor 4. I've never been so dumb as to ignore mechanics, but I have been in parties where people have said to do just that. We wiped, of course, cause I'd be left hanging dealing with the mechanics. This is the problem. Just because it's 3.1 doesn't mean you're overgeared enough to ignore Alexander's mechanics.

I really hope you're being sarcastic and don't actually think that any 'overgeared hardcore raider' would be ignoring mechanics to try to push phases on a fight that doesn't actually have any pushable phases like a1, and that's ignoring the fact that nearly no one doing savage would be doing normal right now in the first place, except maybe to help lower geared fc members.

Edit: Also the situation you described your fc member having sounds much more like what an overgeared non raider would do.

Yea Alex is a mess and I have seen that DRK without provoke lol like why are you here in A1 with no provoke...I mean u can get away with it in A2 but that just confused me

Dps always focus on 1.0 everytime also dps is horrible my DRG was solo on .5 and its health was far below 1.0 I'm starting to hate Alex NM granted I will continue to do it to quickly gear classes for newer content also I was stealing Argo in A4 as a DRG I had to stop dps for a couple secs :/

Void Ark didn't have a weekly lock out Alex NM would probably not exist anymore lol guess I'm one of those rejects still doing Alex NM

I just leveled up a second job finally and wanted to get the Alexander gear out of there for it. It was mostly a terrible experience with the chief problem people not killing the adds properly in A1 or not killing them at all in A4. It's like, look, if I can kill adds on SMN, you can definitely kill them too, Mr. Melee. Same deal on A4 with orbs. No one's grabbing those. No one's blocking lasers. People with lasers keep moving. It go so bad that I would run straight at the source of the lasers and stand right on top of them to maximize the angles I could block on a runner.

So I got the loot I wanted out of there. I'm never going back in.

Watch a guide, queue in df and practice. if people are not used to the fight, learn with them. If you already know the fight, help them anyway, they'll get it eventually. Give out tips if you have to. If your sensitive to rude comments, then turn off chat, easy fix.
