20 million. Been playing since Early Access 2.0. Just saved it all up over time, while buying things here and there.
I did meddle in crafting in 2.x, getting a Weaver Lucis. That was generally my go-to craft when I did decide to craft, alongside Alchemist. But I am not a career crafter who earns money from that. In 3.0, I've barely touched it.
50 mil
but gil is useless anyway, its just a number for now.
i cant believe a currency is this useless in a MMORPG GAME, awesome SE, good job
I have a few mils but I am an FC leader and I donated a lot to helping members succeed. Mostly through crafting gear for them and helped buy a few houses. I would have more but Rip crafting materia prices. :3
A little shy of 4 million right now. I also own a small private house. I don't consider myself "rich" but I never hurt for gil in this game, ever.
Currently sitting on 6mil, waiting for the relic weapon which will probably end up being a Gil sink at some point.
Current balance is 1,554,127
I was approaching 3 million over the weekend but I hit 60 CUL and dropped 1.5 mil on the level HQ 60 generic crafting gear. I've since made back 300K.
Money is easy come, easy go for me. I know how to play the markets and I craft obsessively, so I can always get a few million gil within a week when I really put my nose to the grindstone.
I have a small house. I paid 4 million for a direct server sale when the lot opened up by a miracle.
Anything over a million gil is considered healthy on Lamia server. Anything over 10 million gil is considered wealthy. My FC mates tease me by calling me the "Iron Bank of Mest" and the "Eorzean 1%" but that was back when I was pushing 5+ mil regularly.
400k ish since my server economy is like "running daily duty can make you rich" things.
68m saved. 9m on my character, and maybe 25m in assets if I sold them. I also have a few starlight bardings I'm holding onto. Having 4 airships helps immensely in keeping my money current. The only time I even spend gil is on repairs and housing. But since all my ships are done for now, and I finally found someone to make my emperor throne, I think I'm done spending.
7.5mil Started playing at the end of ARR and most of my gil is spent on buying minions and skins/meats for crafting.
Mine is long and interesting tale going from rich to bankrupt, love and loss, and playing every new system on the market. So I guess it's easier doing it in a timeline. It went roughly like this:
[2.0] - Made 3mil from Crafting and Gathering and selling wisely. Maxing all Crafting and Gathering classes and completing the Crafting Log 100% every patch.
[2.1] - Made 50mil buying thousands of Coke, Peacock Ore, etc, and selling the HQ'd products 24/7 for two months straight.
[2.2] - Spent 3mil for a small FC plot of my own and 18mil for a medium FC Plot for friends (lived beside each other in The Goblet.). Sold Glazenuts and Thavnarian Onions via Gardening making all my money back.
[2.3] - Friends (and static) quit for Wildstar. I sold the small plot and FC for 8mil. I sold the Medium Plot and FC for 30mil. I bought a 100mil Plot for 35mil from [FC] Bad Touch. (Short story: They wanted to server transfer immediately. Happened to be Ward 1, Plot 11 in Lavender. My version of winning the Jumbo Cactpot, every week, forever, multiplied by bacon.)
[2.4] - Met a girl. Loved a girl.
[2.5] - Spent 100mil on her two relics, minions, glamors, and a medium personal house. Was down to 287gil with the release of Subdivision Wards. Worked my way back up to 30mil (one of the top crafters at this point with all Lucis, Master Books and a large customer base.)
[3.0] - Began making first Thavnarian Body on server for girl for 10mil. Fight began. Sold first Thavnarian Body on server for 13mil instead and broke up with girl. First on the server to be able to craft new bardings. Made over 300 Ravana bardings and 50 Bismarck bardings (for a customers mats + 90k gil) for 30mil profit. Got up to 70mil just before 3.05 thanks to making anything anyone wanted for 90k + Mats.
[3.05] Started Red Scrips on the very first day. Sold 45 Purified Coke each week for 400-500k each. Sold Red Roundstones, Dragon Warts, Clusters, and overpriced Airship venture mats. Made 180mil from then until now. Purified Coke still sells for 300k each x45 every week.
[3.1] Sitting at exactly 250mil. New Goal: Gil Cap of 999,999,999.
160mil + I own a medium house.
7mil. Couldn't care less. Yet to spend gil on a teleport so it's either glamour prisms or up up up.
Not enough.
Not to be "that guy", but A) 7m is not hard to make. B)To slander players by saying they promote RMT by spending their money however they want or selling runs in game legally, is stupid, to say the least, and rude. I can make 5m in a matter of days, with no effort by just selling unhidden maps. Heck, I'm at 10.2m after a WEEK of selling airship repair parts, and unhidden leather maps. You don't have to buy gil(want to reiterate you never should, seeing how it's not only against TOS, but it's just a dumb thing to do), or craft, to make money in this game. You sound jealous, more than anything. Your comment is extremely bothersome.
320mil... spent a few to rush my crafts to 60.... regrets now since nothing worthwhile to craft.. rest was minions and buying mats to make the new 2 star crafting sets.keeps a low income of 2-5mil a week from materia or random pieces of gear ppl dont make for mb
After reading some of these numbers, dear dev team one of the most valued actions in FF games is Steal. Make it happen.
I only have about 120k right now, after buying my Thavnarian Bustier. I waste Gil on minions mostly, thought considering I don't have any crafting/gathering classes to 60, I find its actually rather easy to make money, at least on my server. My fiancé has a house we're going to houseshare in 3.1. He always has much more money than me. We both started playing in May.
1k Gil. Blows all my money to buy Small Plot lol. Worth every gil I Spend.
In before house reclaiming: not a concern of mine.
as of right now 234k
edit. I'm a 1.0 player and I don't own a house.
133 million
I loved reading everyone's ideas on how to make or save yourself gil.
Got some awesome ideas and I feel like I'm about average from anyone who has also been playing from aug 25th 13. or 2.0 launch
I have about 3m, some from just not spending but most due to just trying to focus more on getting a craft and gathering class back up again.
I've had up to 6m on my old server by selling drops and dabbling in crafting and gathering.
Sakuraluna go gathering! :D
Between ephemeral nodes, folklore/legendary nodes, unspoiled nodes, and collectibles I think I like department of land classes over department of magic or war loll.
I mean with good music and you can socialize over voice to talk programs and in gamee chat, gathering is awesome. Then with gathering you get the ability to do anything else in the game you want. Either crafting it for free or buying it out of convenience with what you earn from Providing for the Realm!
My mate and I both gathered 65 million and have a house worth around 80-100 million counting the expensive furniture in it.
I Spend about 2-3 mil a day, then make it back crafting. Imagine what I would have if I saved my cash ^_^
It really is a relaxing activity. I think part of my issue has been not really needing loads of Gil due to there being nothing to spend on outside of a few glamours here and there, but the housing reclaim system that's coming has renewed my interest a bit. I've always thought it would be nice to own a personal house, but... Excalibur... O.O
I have a little over 1 million gil. I also have a small personal house (minimally furnished, mainly with festival rewards and random stuff I got from ventures).
The only time I've actively tried to make gil was while I was saving for the house. Besides the house, my Direwolf mount is the only other semi-expensive thing I've bought. I tend to be stingy about expenditures, preferring to get or make things for myself rather than buy them. I won't even spend money on teleports unless teleporting is the only way to get there on time (most often for hunts, but I've occasionally teleported somewhere to help a friend out with something).
I craft and gather, but only to make stuff for myself and for friends. I haven't crafted stuff to sell, and the only time I've gathered stuff to sell was while saving for the house.
My FC will be hitting rank 6 soon, though, so I guess it's about time to start trying to save up again. My plan is to abandon my personal house in order to re-purchase the plot as an FC house once my FC is eligible for one.
1mil on you + 100k per retainer.
I had a little over 15 mil before server transfer.. Gave 5 mil to the FC I was in and bought stuff to get under 1 mil. So far I'm back up to 5 mil (some things are slow to sell). I never really intentionally make gil.. Just sell random retainer stuff + some unneeded gear/mats. I try to be self sufficient and avoid spending gil.
Since so many crafters on my server are too busy boycotting red scrips thinking SE will change the system I've found myself quite comfortable on Gil, 5-8 mil per 170 accessory has treated me very nicely :)
Im at 75mil in retainers, 2mil on character, and with everything in my retainers probably about 40 mil in assets. Plus I own a med house, which I bought back when housing was first introduced and cost more. I don't spend much unless I need something. But I have occasionally held raffles for my fc, as im more of a vet player, and they are still kinda new. Giving away 3mil to the winners. Plus I heavily funded our fc house. Otherwise I cut back at earning, and started leveling n stuff more.
2 mill on Ksenia. I leveled all three DoL and Weaver to 60, got all the other DoH to 56 without ever setting foot in HW though and there was a price to paid for that. I don't know what I'd have if I had been able to gather and craft on my own, all the way to 60.
at
1.0 few k
2.0 1.5mil
2.1-3.0 taking break
3.1 2.8 mil
i have no crafting, no gathering
saving the gil bit bit by running dungeon and daily
seem DoW and DoM are the poverty group:(
Sitting somewhere in the 30 million range. I practically never spend money. I buy Dark Matter to repair my gear with GC Seals. I do my weekly hunt marks and use those seals to buy aetheryte tickets for free ports. I craft and gather everything on my own. Money's kind of worthless at the moment. :-/
438k.
Almost all my gil is made from running roulette.
Hey Misutoraru not so anymore, There's materials now that sell for lots and drop by 3-5. Umm Deepeye tears and dragon skin are what comes to mind. Anyways hope this helps some :)
Just broke 15 mil here haha. I started playing probably 2 1/2 months ago, a bit after HW was released.
My first 9mil or so early game was from buying and selling cheap items for higher on mb, and also buying commonly sought provision items from NPCs and selling those for higher. (most often 2k-9k each)
Then after doing provisions daily for all my doh/dol classes they reached around lvl 20-25ish before I actually touched any of them haha. Now after actually getting into crafting they are all around 40-50+ and my gil return rate is quickly snowballing as I continue to lvl my classes up. Now I currently just sell hq items I craft ranging from 9k-30k and I imagine much more once I get higher lvl. I also am stock piling many crafting/gathering material by immediately crafting more equipment after I spirit bound them.
Haha tbh all I'm really saving up for is a house to call my own one day. Also since its fun just crafting. I still buy some mats from board if its certain one off items I need, but other than that I usually bulk gather most of my mats (Don't sell any gathering mats though, just crafted items).
Enough to live comfortably for the rest of my life...if I was to die by tomorrow in Eorzea.
i got an ok amount but im at the point where idgaf about making gil anymore b/c idgaf about anyting being sold. I dont care about furniture, housing, crafted gear outside of a glamour piece that may cost like 1-200k. I dont buy glamour weapons that cost tens of millions b/c new weapons come out fast enough in patches that look good. I dont buy minions, just got gaelikitten through running the dung over and over while leveling a class. If i never got it I wouldnt care. Im not gonna do relic depending on the grind b/c of other ways to get weapons.
Gil has nearly no purpose for me. Except maybe teleports.
I used to make a killing off of Dragon Skins, Dragon Blood, Dragon Scales, etc. but now the market has tanked on Tonberry. Down to a low 300 per and if you try to sell more than one stack you'll get undercut to hell until it's 200 per, and then back up in a week.
Although that happens every time I farm a specific item, maybe I'm breaking into people's markets? :p
