Thank you for making yet another thread about something we already have 50 threads on. I'm sure the dev team is totally unaware of this problem and it was this one thread that made them aware of it.

I see your point, and I think the CIA did the same thing when they introduced crack cocaine to urban centers across this country. Powerleveling, crack, they are the same thing. Intensely and physically addictive after a very short time of use.
Thee words: FFXIV methadone clinics.
Even if they remove power leveling at this point..... imagine the withdrawal symptoms.
The only way to gets things like this fixed *is* for people to take advantage of it and bring to light the issue. You can say, "Well, I don't know where you'd find people to do it" or "You shouldn't do it, it's unfair!" but you're ignoring the real issue: OP isn't screwing over people, Square Enix is. Square Enix said, "Sure, go nuts, this is the system we made, we know how it works, and this is allowed."
If anything, OP did you all a favor by collecting concrete data on this, that we can show SE and say, "See what your system is allowing?" and maybe cause them to re-evaluate it.
And if you support PLing anyway, why do you care? You should again thank OP, this is exactly the sort of data that should thrill you, proof PLing works to an absurd degree!
We are an endgame group, our goal is to advance the ls as fast as possible.
Atm this is the optimal form of leveling, and the producer OKed it as being fair game (aka not an exploit). So we are going to take advantage of it until it is changes.
But everyone in the group knows what the outcome will probably be if nothing is done. We will get everyone geared, people will have to wait for content and people will stop logging on and playing. <= this is the issue.
Other linkshells not going at it as hardcore will see this slower, but the same thing will happen.
The game does not have an endgame large enough to support a game with 80+% of the population at endgame.
For a real life example: If you could make $40/hr for sleeping at night or you could make $20/hr working in heavy construction somewhere. Which one would you choose, which one would you do more often if you could only choose 1? This game is the same thing, 1 is compelte bs and takes no effort at all... but it is more rewarding then the hardwork is. AKA all rewards and no work (SOMETHING THAT IS A MAJOR ISSUE IN MMOS NOW DAYS)
Bring back fatigue system ! ! !
jk.lol
The glorious tears make me very randy.
Here's a suggestion: MPK the powerlevelers.
I'd choose construction job. $40/hr isn't worth it with all the money I'd have to spend in medical bills for being a lazy ass who sleeps all day.
But then again, I choose to only join traditional exp parties too. So, you know. Call'em how you see'em...
The rest of this is self-defeating. "Hey, look at us, we're digging our own graves!"
Early XI was designed around slowing down the select few who had 19 hours to devote to something like grinding exp in one sitting. I wish I had 19 straight hours to play a video game. But the majority of us don't, and therefore SE does not need to act based on this example. No more burning down the forest to remove a single tree like they did in XI.
Yours is the LS that had most classes on most character to 50 prior to this anyway. So why complain? Because those of us with commitments outside the game have a chance to keep the pace slightly?
As I've said before, there's still crafting, materia, catalysts and Gil that requires dedicated grinding. This is a non issue and if the devs were going to do something, they would have.
That's idiotic, then. You're going to have an LS full of people who have no idea what they are doing and no skills that can be got with guild marks at all. I wouldn't want to be running Ifrit or DH with your crowd.Quote:

So why are you rushing people to the endgame? This is dumb, dumb, dumb of you to do.Quote:

You assume people cant learn how to play if they get powerleveled.
Let me brake this down for you:
Get powerleveled to 50 in a few days,
Learn how to play that rank 50 over the next few weeks.
STILL FASTER than leveling to 50 and learning along the way.
"Learning how to play" isn't rocket science.
It's hardly ever the RIGHT way to do things. It's the lazy way to do things, it creates high-level players who don't know how to use their skills properly, and - let's be honest - it's not fun. You are robbing these people's fun away from them and they don't even know it.
A lot of you guys have a screwed sense of Right and Wrong. Just because you CAN do it, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.
To be honest, I stand by Yoshi's opinion on PL'ing, but they need to tweak this so everyone can just go back to AH debates.
So lets whinge about it, all the while, lets do it just like you probably took advantage of every other exploit so you could get to endgame. I see it now...
You only care about this cause more people are doing it.
Oh, I'm quite sure they can't learn how to play it right if they get PL'd. Quite sure.Quote:

It's one thing for some high-level folks who already have one or several 50's to do a little PL'ing. No big deal. I don't want people to have to repeat the same grind 8 times. But it's a whole other taco to take noobs and PL them up. It's totally wrong to do on several levels and you should quit doing it immediately.
Very cools 1.2m in 9hrs, PL me *cough* =P
PV, anything for you man.
Roll on Istory.
Get you a 50, say, tomorrow?
Yea I mean you can't learn to drive a car unless you build one right?
Not as ridiculous as you think -- We're glorified beta testers currently, they're focusing heavily on a PS3 relaunch, they even admitted they're trying to get this game ready specifically for the "2nd chance (PS3 launch). They've done a server rollback before (not planned) and people were upset for all of 2hrs, if they felt things are too unbalanced to fixed, the only people who will suffer are those who got powerleveled from start to finished -- Some people will lose money they made ripping everyone off, some will lose materia, but that's the nature of the beast, and this is the ultimate leveling tool to get everything back in order.
Remember: We're not paying for this game, hell we're not even getting generally rewarded for playing during the overhaul (key word), which can include rollbacks if it's necessary.
And then when we get an influx of some low level content we get to hear people like you bitching and moaning that they are not adding anything for R40+ or 50+? We get to hear you piss and moan about how all your characters are capped and the lower rank content is no fun?
Sure the system is effed up atm, but if you take advantage of it its YOUR decision, plenty of people are not bothering to PL the hell out of themselves, that's their decision.
If only there was a mechanic of some sort that slowly reduced the amount of xp one earned after a certain point . . .
this reminds me of acts of domestic terrorism that cause a ton of collateral damage to the environment when those who performed the acts were trying to make a point about saving the environment
you basically are causing the same damage you outcry against in order to make a point
I feel dirty. lol
You'd have to be an idiot I guess not to have taken advantage of guildleve group for really very little effort (less effort I think than being powerleveled to 40 and doing stronghold to 50) to rank 50 in all classes pre- 1.18 (I mean unless you weren't playing this should have been an easy task for anyone playing ever reset).
You'd have to be an IDIOT for not taking advantage of the initial XP system to get your mages to 50 in the first couple of months.
You'd have to be an IDIOT to not have soloed Archer to 50 on Coblyns before they were nerfed.
People are such idiots... Arrrrrrrrrrrgh.
This is a game. It should be bound by rules set by the developers with the intent of being balanced, fair and enjoyable. If developers give us the tools to do something, and it is intended, then it should be used to the best ability of all players in the game.
My issue with the system is that they went overboard.
No more, no less.
People putting words in my mouth need to stop.
The issue isn't whether or not DocMog decided to PL their friends, or get PLed. The CORE issue is that the option is there, which, as Mog has said, will be exploited while it's there. It's not a matter of "don't do it because you're a better person", it's a matter of "get it out of the game/tweak it so people can't exploit it, get tired of the game, and leave."
I don't care if they leave in PLing, just don't make it SO obviously broken, and deny the fact that it is a broken mechanic is blind optimism at best.
