Pld in 2.0. Took that to 50 within the first week and attempted to get relic for it (cockatrice blocked for like 3 months because other people couldn't dodge on titan :/). Eventually stopped tanking since I kept running into those dps who'd constantly go balls deep on crap before I pulled, as in, all cooldowns on something I've either barely touched or haven't gotten around to getting hate on yet etc. Leveled everything else to 50. Stuck with brd until like 2.3, swapped to blm until 3.0 and have been mch since.
-
Beta: I was a THM
ACN patch: I was an arcanist.
2.0 in general: BLM, then SCH/BRD
3.0: SCH/AST
-
I started as and mained DRG at the very beginning, clearing all EX primals and Coils as it. I also leveled up a WAR cause I had a slight interest in Tanking, though I only used it in dunjin roullettes for faster ques and to gear up my DRG more.
Then when 3.0 hit I started maining DRK and never went back, mostly cause that the class I wanted to play as from the very beginning but unfortunately wasn't available. While I haven't touched Savage Alexander due to being in a more casual FC with members not as interested in clearing it like Coil, I have been able to do things like solo Tank Ravana with my static when half of the members haven't even step foot inside (my FC is just that awesome.)
-
Beta I was a monk, then when game officially came out I started as a War.
Did that tell second coil then became a SMN. Been SMN sense then. Most fun in a job. At less I think so.
-
Started as GLA in 1.0, but because I wanted to start ARR in the same city as I did in 1.0 (Gridania - in 1.0 you were free to choose any class to start in any city), I had to start ARR as a CNJ.
Which was no real problem for me, as being a 1.0 player I started with all my levels and exp intact and furthermore could change class immediately (without having to play through the game first to unlock the Armoury System), which I promptly did as soon as I arrived through the gates in Gridania. I've been pretty much maining GLA/PLD ever since. :D
-
Started as an ACN and since then my main has gone
SMN>SCH>WHM>SMN>BLM>MNK>PLD>SMN>SCH
When 3.0 dropped I was still maining SCH but now tbh I play SCH, PLD and MNK in equal measure.
My friends joke that I main everything (except NIN which I can't play with my latency)
-
I started as an arcanist and mained summoner until somewhere around 2.4 I think, when I went black mage since summoner needed fixed at that point. Now I'm back to summoner as my main.
Sometimes I like to take a break from dps, though, so I'll hop on dark knight or astrologian.

In 1.x, played all jobs, all were fun and useful and could play any job as long as you had the basic AF for it it was fine..so ofc I played all, no weekly lockout crap and so forth
Since they put in the lockouts to contradict the armoury system, I played SMN in 2.0 EA, and been main ever since.
-
2.X start: BLM
2.X end: SMN
3.X start: SMN/SCH
3.X now: AST
Currently seeking to replace AST with WHM in that statement.
Coming from WoW, i didn't think healing could be fun, ever. Glad i gave it a go here.

Started as BLM, and I'm still loving it two years later. I have dabbled in the other caster classes though.
-
I started as archer/bard. The. I leveled white mage on my alt (whom i started as lancer/drg). Fell in love with healing in this game because people weren't as much of dicks about it like in FFXI.
It happened to me in FFXI as well. Started as Red Mage. Later got an exp group that said. Red mage heal/haste/refresh ONLY. *cast enthunder, booted from party*... okay dancer it is.
-
Start from arcanist->Scholar, and after knowing everything in end game is gated as fish, i throw my book and turn into crafter and gatherer, and now enjoying my game as Fisher/Culinarian selling 1 star food and fishing pipira pira
-
Started cnj with intention to play thm, I just wanted the crossclass heal and protect. Not knowing how long it'd take before I could switch...or that blm needed arc, not cnj.
Not wasted though since I eventually settled sch as my 2.0 main which did need those cnj levels with brd as my off dps.(Though I played everything but tanks)
Heavensward went ast main because cards are neat and oh god I have no more keyboard space for five new sch abilities. Went mch next to 60, but really cooled off on it. Gauss barrel just got less and less fun the more I played. And that meant brd was definitely out too. So currently ast main and ninja off dps.

For me, choosing Lancer as my initial class was because it was the name of my high school's sports teams. Even though, I have played as a Dragoon for a year and a half, it's still the origins and the roots of playing as a Lancer that even though I have reached Level 50 on 7 other classes/jobs, will keep me true to myself and what I wanted to honour when I first played this game.
-
1.0 Lancer: I usually play a healer so I just wanted to try something different which led to...
2.0 White Mage: more healer play time. It didn't take long after getting to 50 and my second job was...
2.0-Current: Scholar. White Mage just seems too simple and boring in comparison. Don't think I'll ever switch mains unless Red Mage comes.
-
startet in 2.0 beta as a white mage and it's still the only class i'm playing ^^
-
Started as LNC/DRG, now maining BLM. DRG was still my first lv60 class, though.
-
I started in August 2013 as CNJ. I got WHM to 42 then started ARC. BRD got to 49 then I went back to WHM and got her to 50. She was my main for a while, but I ended up going BRD and made it main until ROG released.
Now, while I heavily think NIN is my main, I have a heart for PLD, but that's only because I like to spam dungeons and queues are faster. However, if I could do it all over, I'd still WHM main.
-
Started in Beta as BRD as mained BRD in Rift before. After switching FC and joining a static I switched to MNK, wanted to try MNK after seeing the preview of AF2 XD. Been MNK now for most of FFXIV and only job I'll probably change to if they add it is DNC. Problem with MNK, is that after you get used to it everything else seems so slow ^_^

Started as a conjurer way back in 1.0, and I'm still playing it as my 'main' now.
Originally, Conjurer wasn't merely a healer. They were a master of all the elements. To name but a few, they had Stone, Wind, Fire, Thunder, Blizzard and Water spells. They had access to their trademark Cure spells, along with Raise. They were effectively a Black Mage and a White Mage rolled into one beautiful package. How could I not play such a devastating combination?
Of course, I also played Thaumaturge since the two neatly complimented each other. The cross-class system was also far more forgiving in those days, allowing you to choose from any of the skills to support your other classes, meaning I could also get those elemental spells on my Thaumaturge. It also meant I could equip a heal which didn't have the downside of dealing minor damage to myself. Unlike today, however, the cross-classing used a points system so each skill would cost a number of set points which meant you had to be careful which skill combinations you chose.
Incidentally, the Arcanist's 'ressurection' spell used to be a Thaumaturge spell since both Thaumaturge and Conjurer were the healers of 1.0.
As I levelled-up both Conjurer and Thaumaturge in tandem, it should probably come as no surprise that they are both among my capped jobs, supplemented by Paladin, which was ironically my lowest level job when I transferred from 1.0 to ARR.
-
Started as mnk in 1.0, blm upon relaunch until they broke it, now smn and very much enjoying the change. :)
-
I started as smn, did scob as smn, fcob as nin, now I'm smashing face in Alex savage as mch. Might switch to drg soon. I like trying the hardest content with the newest classes whenever it's possible within my raid team.
-
I tried Gladiator and Lancer in the 2.0 Beta. For 2.0 proper I was Marauder/Warrior for the first half and Arcanist/Summoner for the latter half. For the 2.1 - 2.5 patches I alternated between Summoner and Bard. Now in 3.0 I'm exclusively Summoner.
-
Started from the bottom now I'm here.
-
Lets see..1.0 alpha/beta I was playing marauder and loved it. Then for some reason never got around to it when the game officially launched, I pretty much only played crafting/gathering and I think towards the end I stated playing CNJ and ARC...getting to about lvl 25.
ARR I started ACN with the intention of playing SMN, but ended playing SCH instead as my main. I dont really play SCH now though I was playing SMN so...it's sort of the same? DRK is my main now though, and I may be retiring SCH for AST
-
Started as Pugilist and levelled it to 15 before switching to rogue with the intention of ninja being my main but due to mudra lag and me discovering i loved bards playstyle i switched to bard until near the end of 2.0 where i raided as a War, i always intended to be a Dark when it finally came out so i switched to Dark at the start of 3.0 but due to my static needing a bard im back on bard.
-
warrior, warrior. warrior. it is glorious
-
Started SCH in 2.0, still SCH but i need a change........raiding on SCH for so long is a tad boring.
-
I started as a white mage I begun raiding as it from T1-4 then I was asked if I would change to Scholar because we was 2 white mages and they wanted more variety in the raid team. I took my scholar to some dungeons and I must say I didn't like it to start with however I went into T5 with it, got that down and it started to grow on me. Fast forward from T5 TO A3 savage I am still a scholar and I love it. My main <3
-
Started out as THM, got it to level ten. Back then there was this quest which was pretty hard and it even got nerf'd. The instance was broken so only one player at a time could actually enter the instance and people had to built a queue for it. So since I died to it and didn't want to wait again just to die, as soon as I hit level 10 I ventured all the way to Gridania (on feet) with a friend and got myself CNJ. Once I had BLM, I tried out ACN. I raided with BLM and SMN (whichever was better for the turn) for a good time. At t8 I left my static cuz drama and healers just had a easier time finding a spot in the party so I used WHM a lot. Then I joined a static as SCH and have been raiding as SCH since then. However I LOVE all my mage jobs and if someone asks me what my main is, I say "All the mage jobs and currently I raid as SCH ;)"
Everyone who knows me knows that I only use magic. Though I must say, I did like MNK too :3 even had my first T12 kill as MNK!!!
-
Started with Conjurer, got White Mage but I tried everything to 50 in ARR to learn right what I like and what I don't. Dragoon became my second job.
The tank role surprised me cause I liked it even if I thought it would be just hard and boring at first when I started. That said there were no tank job that I really felt mine due to themes.
Now I'm main Dark Knight and I love it, to be honest I'd probably be DRK from the start of it was there.. though luckily FFXIV lets you play more than one job and I still enjoy playing WHM.
Now my rooster is: DRK main, WHM/AST and DRG as second jobs.
I didn't find a caster or ranged that gets me but FF is about jobs too, and even if DRK will probably be my main forever, who knows about future releases..
-
1.0 war
2.0 war
3.0 war
I have more jobs but war will always be my main character. Love it!
-
I was originally a dragoon.
I wanted to stay dragoon.
My server called for tanks though in Final Coil so I answered the call. There was no room for a dragoon.
When 3.0 came, I was still a paladin. I leveled to 60 and when the time came to recruit me for statics, they wanted warriors.
This time, they directly asked me to change to warrior if I wanted to raid. I answered the call once more. I've been a warrior ever since.
I just want to be the dragoon I was meant to be many moons ago.
-
My very first Class was Marauder/Warrior. I got Bored of the typical Shield and Sword Tanks from MMORPGs so i wanted a change.
I did play other Classes but i sticked to that class ever since.

Started in beta, playing WHM purely for Stoneskin for SCH....but decided "I LIKE WHM"
Then after 2.1 I decided I wanted to try something new, so I played MNK all the way to HW level 60 cap...decided nothing changed enough in the MNK rotation.
Now I play AST :3
-
Started as Conjurer and still main as White Mage. I only just started 2 months ago, so there's other jobs I wish to level, but I just really like healing.
-
Started with pug because in 1.XX they had a hidden ability that was ever used that would have lead them into thf. There was a dat files for it.
WAR because I want to get the most out of the game and waiting for queues would be a waste.
-
Started as Pugilist and am a Monk now. Never felt the need to change it, since Monk provides me with everything I want and need in a game.
