Class you started with vs. your job now.

So my last question got me a bit more curious about something else..
how many people still mainly use the same job/class they picked when you started the game?
Or did you find a job/class that you loved better? Did something take you by surprise?

For example I started the game as an archer and my main is still bard...boring yeah but I knew what I wanted (bow/arrow classes in any game are my favorite also BTW protip do not play Dark Souls as an archer it is just constant pain and sorrow).
Though my secondary job I intended it to be ninja, but I found I love scholar much more, of well.

Started as an Acrher, then switched to BLM.

I had problems with healing due to personal reasons, but now I main WHM and I think it's gonna be like that until the game servers close.

Started 1.0 as a Paladin -> 2.0 Monk -> 2.4 Ninja.

Loved PLD back in 1.0 for the skill required to be exceptional and I don't know, I just loved PLD a lot back then lol. Not so much now.

I went MNK because we had 50 tanks in our FC of 30 people, that and it felt challenging, I like challenges.

Then I went Ninja because I've wanted that Job since 1.0. Loving it.

Not I. I started as a Bard, then moved to White Mage for the majority of ARR. Currently a Machinist because I love its style and was tired of only healing content, although White Mage will forever be my love.

I'm so behind on Bard that I've literally forgotten what its moves are called, sold all my endgame gear (which, at the time, meant anything purchased with tomes of mythology and maybe some soldiery) and I have no clue what people are complaining about when they mention Wanderer's Minuet. I'm not even sure that that's the right name. And I'm okay with that.

I started right at ARR launch. I always have felt mage types were my thing, so I set off for Thamauturge. Since that fateful day, my go to job has been BLM. I picked up WHM(2.0-2.55) and AST (3.0+) as my healers. I don't think I could ever switch mains. I just love my BLM waaay too much. :3

In 1.0 I actually started as a Blacksmith - but yes I still craft, heehee.

In all honesty Machinist (back then called Musketeer) was supposed to come out a long time ago - so I leveled everything up to 30 so I would have whatever sub job abilities I would need... then kept leveling because it hadn't come and then they said they were remaking the game.

Played Warrior and Archer the most near the end of 1.0

When I came into 2.0 I fell in love with Black Mage.

Now it's 3.0 and I FINALLY have the job I wanted to be my main since 1.0, so I am a Machinist main, but now I also play Paladin and working on Black Mage and Summoner.

Started as Marauder, but once at Sastasha I wanted to try out both tank classes so I levelled Gladiator to 15 and eventually got PLD to 50 before WAR. But a bit later, I levelled my WAR to 50 and loved it much more than PLD. Looks like my first choice was the good one. I switched to DRK at 3.0 and I raid as DRK but I still play WAR a lot outside of Savage and I still consider myself a WAR in the heart.

I also wanted DRG to be my DPS job, but when I levelled MNK, I loved it so much that I completely left DRG behind.

Started as MNK on launch until I quit shortly before SCoB.

Came back started as NIN changed recently to DRG main and loving it now!

Started as a Conjurer in 1.0.
Changed to Arcanist and SCH in 2.0
Now I changed to the newest healer, AST, for 3.0. They're very powerful in pvp

So yes, shiny new healers. Stronger, Faster, and Better.

I started as a DRG at launch. I loved DRG, and still do...even though its i193, and (technically) my secondary job, I've used it in maybe 4 or 5 lv60 instances. And I got it to 60 within two weeks of the HW launch...

Sometime early 2.3 I switched mains from DRG to WAR. Still don't regret it. Funny thing, unless I'm leveling, I'm usually on DRK in instances lol. Unless I'm raiding. Then Fell Cleave everything
