You can still do the 1-50 content as a lv 50. Or since you'd have choice you could level normally, experience it all, then for the rest of your classes, opt them to 50, because why do the same thing 19 times over?

And that's an equally dumb analogy.
The end game is "the best part" to some not all.
As usual, people are thinking only in terms of how it would benefit them in the short term, and not of how it could affect the game long-term.
What happens in practically every single MMORPG when the population levels off and not as many new people are playing? The game becomes top-heavy. What's the result of that? Lower level players complain of having not enough people to partake in content with, they get discouraged and leave.
What this "suggestion" is promoting is a similar outcome.
You might say "well if they want to do content with others, then they have the option to skip to level 50 also". But that's defeating the point... The point is, people who would like to do the tougher lower level content - without being PL'd through it - will have a tougher time of it due to a decreased low-level population.
What you're basically promoting is the potential increased frustration of future players, because some don't know how to to enjoy anything but level cap/end game in a MMORPG.
I know it's easier and more self-edifying to think in terms of solely what you want and what would benefit you and make the game better for you without regard for how what you want would affect many others who may not share your preferences.. However, please try to remember that you are playing with many others and that you do not speak for all of them.
Implement Level Sync, new player asks around and joins a good LS and they sync to his level to experience as if they were his level. Solutions!
Also lets not talk to much about new players when they are already being turned off by the difficulty lol. Fix 1 thing at a time.
This is the stupidest post I have ever read... just close it.. K thanks.. no point in arguing with lazy people who don't understand what kind of games Final Fantasy is.
Players' reaction to the difficulty of the game =/= giving everyone a "Skip to 50 Free" card.
I have no problem with a level sync system, as long as its more carefully planned out and implemented, so it can't be abused the way it was in XI. The ability to sync down 50+ levels and ding 75 in a level 30 area effectively killed any high level groups in that game as well. If it's implemented in such a way that the ostensible purpose of it - friends and family able to group together without concern of level difference - but that can't be abused as a PL'ing system (the one currently in XIV due to the xp chain system is quite enough I think, considering how quickly people are packing on levels with it) - would be fine, in my opinion.
Referring to the Original Post:
In moments like this one I'd like to have the "Dislike" button, to spam Enter on it... Probably this is the most funny idea that I heard from last October.
I just hope that all of you, people, are aware that the big work about balancing the game is still continuing. So if something NOW could appear strange or broken, it will probably be fixed or it's just caused by the fact that we played since now a totally different game. ( luckily the game is improving, even if a lot of stuffs should still be fixed )
Sorry for bad english.
lol I used to joke around about WoW... Saying that even if Blizzard implemented a "Win Instantly" button that automatically completed all content and gave all the best rewards, there would be people complaining that they had to press the button and it didn't happen automatically.
I said that a few years ago and it was completely in jest.
As time marches on, though, it seems we're getting closer and closer to it.
Once upon a time, the mere suggestion of this thread would have been seen as so unthinkable as to be ridiculous; who ever posted it would be considered either a troll, or paranoid.
Yet here we are.
Anyway... Yoshi's indicated his ideal time to reach 50 is about 3 months as I recall. So I think it's a non-argument anyway.
I actually laughed when I read the title. Auto 50? Are you KIDDING me? Some of the people on this site are just unbelievable.
how about NO NO NO!
why do people even bother playing video games anymore.. today's generation would have slit there throat on unbeatable games! When I was a child there were games that just got harder and harder until you died... Kids today would slit their wrists.
While we are at it
can I also start with 50mil gil.?
and all the vendor items should be for free
we should have an unlimited leve stash
and finaly all mobs should only have 1 hp
If you dont then don't play mmorpg. People would quit if this was in the game. They want to earn their gear, level, strength by gameplay. Not being offline and log once in month or two to see if he hitted 50 already. Auto-offline ? No thank you !Quote:
Therefore I propose that SE makes leveling completely optional. If you wan't to have fun you can team up and go do it. And if you don't, you can just auto-level to 50.
I completely disagree with idea of auto-leveling to 50. If you want to play mmorpg, then you have to try to play a bit as well. Leveling is now fast and easy to chains = very lot of exp.
No, that's not how new MMO's are.
Rift... New MMO... requires you to level from 1 to cap
The Old Republic... Upcoming MMO... will require you to level from 1 to cap
The list goes on.
Guild Wars 1 lets you create a level 20 PvP-specific character... however you still have to unlock all its skills by playing through the campaign... or by buying the skills in their cash shop. It's also not technically a MMORPG.
Other than that, every other MMORPG out there requires you to start at level 1 and progress - by playing the game - to the end. There's always some form of progression. Any MMORPGs that do offer that option would be so obscure as to be irrelevant or, at the least, vastly outnumbered by every other one.
So, no.. that's not "how new mmo's are".
Stop revising reality.
i wish that was true, but sadly i don't think that many people on these forums actually do want that. seems to me like alot of people here want no grind at all, just a free ticket to level 50 and end game content. maybe optional leveling or getting rid of levels altogether should be considered.
sounds completely retarded i know, and i would ditch this game in a heartbeat if that were to happen, but you gotta give the masses what they want.
Not sure if serious, or troll thread.
This is the craziest idea I ever see =='
What's the point of playing game then?
(Unlike)
I highly, highly doubt that an instant ride to 50 is what the masses want.
It's what a few rather vocal folks on a message forum - which doesn't represent the entire community itself - want.
I think the replies and reactions to the idea over the past 6 pages pretty much demonstrate people's thoughts on the idea.
See there are lots of ppl like the above, who don't want to have to deal with people who have time to play and can put an effort into leveling. Is it fair to them that I get epic gear and get to do fun endgame stuff while they have to mindlessly grind away?
no!
They should be able to have all the same stuff I have without having to spend any time!
thus the auto-level function would help make the game fair to players like this.
I think a lot of the people posting here are the ones who invested time i the game and just don't want to all of a sudden have people able to catch up instantly. And thats understandable. But think how unfair it is to those people who don't want to play the game? Don't they deserve to experiance content and get the best weapons without wasting hours doing the same raids or grinding?
Might as well just watch videos in youtube of a lvl50 player beating things for you if you honestly want to start off as a lvl50....
I think people need to escape the idea that we need to tip toe around ideas incase SE accidently slips up one day and drops one in by accident. If the general consensus is that it's a good idea, it's not usually that bad.
Anyways, I think the obvious answer is to make the levelling process fun by including lots of events, battles and story missions along the way so you feel fully involved, not just that you're pushing for endgame.
I hate being a kid! I wanna grow up RIGHT NOW! I wanna be BIG so I can do all the fun stuff BIG people do!
This thread made me throw up in my mouth a little
Oh ffs... Stop with the hyperbolic, bleeding heart, self-entitled, spin-doctoring BS already will you, Azury?
There are not "lots" of people who agree with you. Continuing to insist there are only makes you look willfully ignorant, or completely oblivious to the reality that has plainly played out before you in this thread. In this thread alone there have been far more people who've said "no" to the idea than have agreed with you.
Take a hint already.
If someone refers to playing a game - something they are doing completely voluntarily - as being "torturous" then they should probably reconsider their choice of pastime. If they continue to engage in that activity - despite feeling "tortured" by it - they should probably seek help, because there's a much deeper issue at play there.
And, no, it's not fair to give some players an easier/faster time of achieving some thing that others put the time into simply because some people "don't feel they should have to".
Everyone plays the same game. Everyone has the same content to get through. No one deserves "special treatment", 'cause they think they're a unique case.
If the game is so bad and torturous for someone to play the way every single other player is experiencing it... then the rational thing to do is stop playing and find another game that better suits your tastes.
Is this a troll? Sounds like it...
I don't know why you guys insist on feeding this attention-seeker.
successful troll thread is successful?
This is the dumbest thing i've ever heard. Oh let's take away half of the damn work in an mmo so I can be lazy and have zero skill on my class when I get to end game. Yea, no. Level like everybody else.
Oh noes, azurymber is back!!! Didn't you leave earlier? :(
This... I am kinda shocked someone would actually even fathom this let alone suggest/petition for it. I will respectfully disagree, the people who want the insta win button are those who do not know what they want so they beg for everything. In no way should these people get everything or else they will carry that mentality over to future MMOs until you just click "Buy Game" amd start with every item possible in game and every class/craft/whatever maxed out.
Wow this thread is still going please kill it now, where are the forum GMs??? or are they too busy laughing at this thread?
lol at this topic. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4020/...102779e9cf.jpg
I agree though with the point it tries to make.
