Tornados. The new divebombs.

all the bosses in neverreap are annoying as hell , 1 one vanish and u need to look for it , and kill its shadow....and repeat....
2nd one with totems....stop attack to pick up totems move outside ...i tho was funny the 1...2....3. time after that ugh
last boss , is the worst , gets evasion buffs, goes inmune and run around ,while there are tornados and adds to kill...then run to boss since he does knockback...bah...
while the mechanics are cool ,we get to do neverreap over and over , we can blame neverreap , but the real issue here is that we only have 2 dungeons in expert ...getting never reap 3 days (or more) in a row is not rare....
cant wait for pharos sirius HM ;)
Just remember that the siren was singing that lovely music in Pharos Sirius "Normal." The Hard Mode version will most likely have different music (possibly to what we'd expect of Kobolds).
As others have pointed out, Neverreap is pretty much universally detested by DPS due to the sheer amount of disruptions that all of the boss fights have. The second boss is cake with a coordinated group because totems are never stacked and the tank/healer will grab any in the circle, leaving DPS free to go HAM, but the other two have massive periods of invulnerability that cannot be bypassed in any way.
Sounds like people don't like being made a fool with the Tornados lol. It really isn't that serious people. Neverreap is more tolerable now than when it was first released. #personalproblems
The last boss tho is only immune to damage recieved from attacks. He's not immune to debuff damage. I know this because I've seen him die during the add phase.
It gets pretty boring. I used to cap on Eso by doing multiple dungeon runs a day, but now I just do pvp since even though I go to the same map, the outcome is always different.
What about the Main Scenario Roulette, then? That one has been having only two options for over a year now, and no one has said anything. I'm growing horribly bored with Praetorium and Castrum Centri all the time. >_< Please SE, add something to that roulette! Like Ifrit NM, Garuda NM, Titan NM, Cape Westwind... all those duties that are in the Leveling roulette despite them giving no exp (aside the roulette exp, of course).
I think the main problem in Neverreap is that every boss has invincibility phases. The 2nd boss won't if you can move the totems fast enough. This makes the fights longer. At least in Fractual, there's one of that nonsense (unless the bosses take the same amount of time to kill and the length of time it feels like to kill Neverreap bosses is a placebo.
No not really. I find it hard to muster the willpower to do the expert roullete for my daily esoterics when I am so tired of the same 2 instances.
oh go dnot the bees
Would players be more interested in the EX Roulette if the dungeons had RNG pathways? Running them the first time (and if anyone new to the dungeon is in the party) will follow the current paths we're all bored of by now, but imagine if running it a second time with players who have also already done it opens up a different path (while closing off the other). Could fight different mini-bosses and a different final boss. Probably won't ever happen, but it would be something ARR never did.
Actually 1.0 Tam Tara had 3 different bosses depending on what path you took.
But like all things I got chucked with anything g else good 1.0 had going because it wasn't mainstream yo.
I'd be more interested in dungeons if they weren't completely linear... It's something that obviously got phased out over time, early dungeons did have optional side parts, but very few did them so we've been left with entirely linear dungeons... It's a shame, because the optional side rooms in places like Qarn aren't what I was ever really after... They're nice, but I'd rather have a situation where I can pick one of two ways, and end up facing different enemies and different bosses... I'd also really like to see more puzzles... Just incorporate them to such a design; Rather than having a situation where progress is blocked because you can't work out a puzzle, you have a situation where the puzzle unlocks one of two paths. Get the puzzle right, and you progress one way. Get it wrong, and you progress another way. Have both paths still result in the same final boss, but it would be nice if things weren't so linear...
I'd honestly be OK with them putting out a single dungeon every update, provided it is well made and robust, instead of linear and boring...
I recommend not having a dependency on Expert roulette for tomestones. It's an example of people making themselves tired of the game by only focusing on one thing. Do some Frontlines PvP and Alexander raids, then you can do Expert less often or not at all.
But yeah it would be nice for Expert to just become Lv60 dungeon roulette and include all of them, even the story aetherochemical research facility, then there would be 5 dungeons in this roulette come the next patch. And High can be renamed Lv50 dungeon roulette, since the level is what defines these things, not their difficulty.
Hmmmm. A dungeon with 3 paths, each having it's way of clearing (like 1 path has bigass mobs that are best dealt with by killing 1by1, the second path it's pack 'em all and blow 'em away with casters / AoEs and the last path ...a puzzle jump!!! If you fall you die and have to come back !).
Well not gonna happen yo, mainstream linear dungeons are mainstream yo!
Rant asside, Neverreap is a pain for me, don't like it.
But I really hope the 2 new dungeons won't replace the 2 existing ones for the Roulette Expert.
4 dungeons on the roulette sounds good imo.
I think the official reasoning we don't have non-linear dungeons with branching paths is that they would take more time to complete resulting in less of them.
Yeah I'd have to agree that a single dungeon with more work put into it would be an improvement instead of just higher quantity.
I didn't really dislike either as I was only running them as healer. Since Alwaysreap, while more annoying, is easier (I have not seen a wipe there even once, and I've been running these since the second week of the expansion, so most people there were new and only clad in lowest possible iLvl), so it balanced out with the more enjoyable fights but higher difficulty of Fractal.
Then I got a 9-day streak of ONLY ALWAYSREAP! Which really made me fed up with the dungeon and its mechanics, also it was later, so people stopped dying in Fractal, so one of the advantages was gone.
And now I have finally hit 60 on DRG and went into Expert roulette, ofc got Alwaysreap, and the untargetable mechanics are SO FUCKING ANNOYING! It's almost on the same level of annoyance as The Vault. Also I really have no idea how the phases are triggered, but they feel really short for example on the first boss, I can't count the amount of times I lost Blood on him.
