This will not end well.....

SE only responded in the red scrip is not casual friendly thread. You should have seen it comming. They made it a bit more casual friendly since they need less money/time now to cap their scrips.
They were never planning on easing this stupid favor system for the hardcore crafters
I guess we'll find out soon enough exactly what this means. It actually could work if the time out is about 5 mins (not 30) as that would keep them out of rejoining most of the time without having a huge penalty if they're trolled.Quote:
"The Duty Finder has been adjusted so that players who have been vote-dismissed are not immediately available as candidates for joining a party."
You can get booted for no reason and have a lockout penalty. Troll tools at is finest. This was a troll of a hot fix cause it didn't fix nothing.
People automatically assuming majority of the FFXIV community are trolls and will kick people for no reason other than 'lol just because.' It's basically the same gloom and doom people went crazy about with the Loot Master system.
If you're kicked without warning or unfairly (newbie), report those players. However, if you were kicked because you weren't meeting the expectations of majority of the group (BLM only casting Blizzard, for example) and ignored the requests of the party to improve, then you can't report them. You were kicked because they thought you were trolling (that's how "I play how I want" is seen).
I've been vote kicked many times with no reason.
Party:
Me: Heya All! :D
5mins later:
You've been dismissed from your current duty. "Uhm.. WTF? :("
I guess I look to cute for them. I put it down to jealousy. Usually nothing is said. If people talk, I always be nice, talk back, have a giggle. No one likes a boring duty!
It's like my friend always says. You have nice players, who are bad at the game, but you are always assured that you'll have fun with them, no matter how bad they are. State of the Art players, who take the game too serious, and have a massive attitude problem.
The only reason why I even care to go into Duty Roulette's is to earn Commendations for doing an outstanding Job. :)
It's a shame that this feature isn't monitored closer. And I can understand what they done, if someone is trolling, but if the feature is abused to say.. "get a friend in", or to "leave w/o earning 30min ban", I'd say they should be punished for that.
Maybe so, but the biggest complaint was the time and effort required to cap for both crafting and gathering more so than the cap itself or any other issue and as Chrolo pointed out, that's the one SE understandably responded to and ran with. You should be pointing a finger at the people who (apparently) complained about the wrong thing instead of at SE for actually listening to players.
Every time I've seen a vote kick come up there is never a reason why, unless its someone who is doing nothing. Running Neverreap the other day at the first big pull in the middle of the tornados we wipe. I always chalk it to being my fault, I always lose sight of the AOE's. But then a vote kick is initiated, not for me but another player, no reason given. I could've sworn I voted no, but they got kicked, and then someone said "they were not putting out enough DPS". Though we had to eventually abandon it as no replacement came.
I dont understand why you go out of your way to claim this. According to the entire crafting and gathering base this wasnt anywhere near the main problem? You seem 500% clueless on the topic, so why even bother to comment at all?
The biggest complaint was the time and effort required to actually craft items. Time that is of yet unchanged.
I hope that makes it clear for you.
That was NOT the biggest complaint AT ALL. Hell that wasn't even the biggest complaint thread on red scripts. If they actually paid attention the item scarcity and why they are priced so damn high u would think they would fix that first. Cause we all know SE is all about anti gil buying but the ITEM ISSUE just screams RMT. They helped the gatherers but flipped the damn bird to crafters by NOT listening to the main con plant which is still the reason why these game world economies are stagnant.
The duty finder change will not increase unjust kicks (people who like to kick for banter's sake are already doing so), but it will reduce trolls rejoining the same instance AND (if the penalty is not per instance but for re-queuing) get rid of kick beggers who want to circumvent the penalty. Sounds good to me! Just report unjust kicks like you would have before.
I think true unjust kicking is very rare anyway. Yes it can be frustrating to get a penalty if you're completely innocent, but I imagine that in most of the "unjust" cases there is a reason for the kick that the kicked person doesn't realise. Some possible reasons for kicking could be: making things harder for the group with knockback or pulling before tank etc, pulling extra mobs and wiping the group, trolling with encounter mechanics (like that guy who likes to eat all fruits in Aurum Vale), refusing to play the intended role for the class, playing so badly the group cannot progress, being cheeky or rude or spamming the chat with some nonsense. Or even just constantly falling back so you're not contributing or people have to wait for you. These all fall in the category of "playstyle differences" and are justified reasons to kick.
Consider this: out of all the ways you can make the dungeon hell to your team members, only being verbally rude is punishable! I don't think it's right in an MMO that someone can act like a total c*** and get away with with no penalty whatsoever and, in the case of tanks and healers, even get an instant queue pop right away.
Ya the update notes are a little misleading.

The following items can now be traded in multiple numbers at once to the Idyllshire NPC “scrip exchange”:
Rowena’s token (red crafters’ scrip) / Rowena’s token (red gatherers’ scrip) / Rowena’s token (blue gatherers’ scrip)
I thought they were going to let us put in the amount we wanted? I mean I guess this is better then nothing, but it's not what is actually needed. And what about the other npcs that desperately need a change, like the GC npc, where you have to buy coke with single clicks 200+ times. If they make this same kind of change to GC vendor its going to get very cluttered imho.
That's how I see it and why I don't see the problem. I've only been kicked once in the entirety of ARR's (and HW's now) life span and that one was kind of justified. I said I had one more attempt left in me, but instead of doing that one attempt, the WHM and I argued (they apparently disliked me for standing behind them, which made them move out of Titan's Landslide AoE if I was targeted... which then had them say I sucked at being a BLM, which unfortunately goaded me into arguing) and I was booted.
No AasT buffs again?
Well these are the most boring notes we've had since HW.
Really disappointed in no Job balances... I hope the DF is...
you get the boot, but are not able to join the SAME party you were in.
Since when?
I started a Vote kick, and did it again minutes later because we had 2 afk's in Alex for like 10mins.
The DF change makes it so that you can't queue in progress after being kicked, but you can still immediately queue.
In case anyone was wondering
I really don't get this doom and gloom over the new kick adjustment (then again ANY change is doom and gloom around here), but people fail to realize that anyone who starts a vote kick can't make another one in another 4 hours. Do you really think a troll is going to waste their 4 hour grace period just to kick one person for giggles?
I am withholding judgement until I see how it's implemented. It's important to balance this - there are trolls both ways. My nearly 63 year old father in law gets kicked from groups because he has a difficult time with mechanics in 4 mans, and this (if implemented poorly) would kill the game for him.
I've only been dismissed once that I felt was unfair. Those players were then reported.
Other than that I have kicked people on several occasions for attacking other players personalities and all together being turds. Only to have them pop up in my instance three more times and waste 8 more minutes of everyone's time cussing at people.
I've never kicked anyone for lack of skill or knowledge though. Those people should be taught and directed... not ignored. I'm so excited that this is in place now.
It sounds like it just prevents people from joining in-progress. That's perfect.
So, what are these adjustments to the newest maps? I hate when SE says "has been adjusted" instead of just being totally upfront and telling us they increased or decreased the drop rate.
I noticed I got a lot of HQ stuff from maps, so I'm guess SE just lowered the HQ rate on them.
just did a Wyvernskin, seemed the same but obviously we need more people to do some to see any difference.
90 lightning shards
1 titanium ingot
2 bolt of hallowed ramie cloth
1 bottle of growth formula theta
10 law/~2k gil
Really wish they would change the dragonskin to 4 player maps and/or add very low drop rate thavnarian stuff to Wyvernskin.
I notice the delay issue with MCH's GB actions been fixed as well.
Rapid Fire effect delay being one of the issues fixed.
Don't know about BRD with WM though.
I wonder how that works.
Lately (only when im playing om my machinist) I have been vote dismissed 3 times. Not a word has been said in chat or anything. Everytime two people had the same surname in my group. It's weird cause during entire ARR I was vote dissmissed once for no reason, and since heavensward it has happend 3 times since I hit lvl 60 (one week ago) and doing Ex roulette.
I dont have much play time so I've always had to log out if that happens and miss my daily reward. But assume I would need to requeue and I would have to wait because dungeon is going a bit slower than usual due to mch low damage
Well idk what's been done to Archeo and Wyvern other than potion changes. The only thing I've noticed out of 72 maps is that I get barely any Draconian Potions, at all. But I still get the exact same amount of unhiddens as usual in any given day. I see absolutely no change in shards, cloths, or any other HQ items. Dragons shot down to 50k though, so I guess I'll test those. If they were going to just change one thing, idk why they didn't just say "We are giving you less Dpots".
