Umbrellas would be fun.

An umbrella huh, I can imagine a Roegadyn holding an umbrella next to a Lalafell waiting for a chocobo carriage to pick them up at night. :) Thanks for the idea, we have relayed your request to the dev. team!

I'd like this. They could also make the colour/look of the umbrella class dependet for some diversity.

I've had this thought since 1.0 because it breaks realism for me.
It's weird to be fighting a fat dodo in the pouring down rain. You'll catch cold!

Even these days I always stand under cover when it's raining (and I'm not actively doing something).
I avoid Idyllshire because it's always raining there and there's no cover - fun fact: Only Rowena has cover in Idyllshire (but rain clips through her kiosk anyway).

Oh, amazing! I just had this idea myself. So happy somebody else thought of it and made a thread. Here's an idea for the umbrella: make it an offhand glamour, like for shields.

I would love an umbrella emote/minion. The plush cushion is my favorite minion because it gives my character a little convenience he should have (warrior of light!), but he's still stuck out in the rain. I would love an umbrella emote or minion to keep him dry!

or create an emote that makes an umbrella or other objects appears like 'Dissidia' weapons
like how Bartz make his weapons appear/disappear

or

or like how 'Kingdom Hearts' keyblade wielders make thier keyblades appear, you know the magic-flash thing

Not that I'm against the idea in the slightest, but you could just use what I imagine is the more common option of a rain cloak? All of my characters bar my Au Ra have one(since I get the impression they really don't care, haha).

I want umbrella glamour weapon for warrior. For the longest time I kept thinking the icon for deliverance was a warrior holding an umbrella. Could imagine applying fracture opens the umbrella facing the monster xD

On a related note, a giant fan would be great, or maybe 2 fans for ninja

This would be soo cute! I'm guessing a minion would work if you can hold it and twirl it. But I would prefer an actual prop so you can have better control over it. Plus as a prop you can dye it and customize it maybe the minion probably would be only one color.

There are npcs in Kugane with parasols too! I'm in favour of both. I can imagine it being implemented as an persistent emote, maybe doing an occasional twirl of the handle :)

If your browser has a 'desktop' option, switching to that should give you access to the edit button.

Would be good if we could add a class like "civilian" just so we could hold non combat item eg. umbrellas, fans, flowers, book ect.

Likely not exactly what you're after, but they did excitedly mention in one of the live letters that an umbrella mount was being made for the mogstation. It was around the time they were discussing the Krile outfit being looked into I believe? (also mentioned here. :))

They could just come out when you stand still in town or in the field.

Discussion of raincoats has me thinking I may have finally found a use for those ARR-era mages' cowls....


(Also, why is it that seeing your character out in the pouring rain make you feel almost as miserable as being there yourself...?)

Wonder if this is still in the works? I was just thinking how nice it would be to have. Especially if you hang around Gridania a lot! Hope it still is being looked at.
