Yes standing still to shoot a bow is a competition/tourney thing, not a combat style. Being a bow hunter irl as well as a competitive archer, I can vouch for this.
Adding a cast time to the shots when in WM is just ridiculous. That's simply not the way real archers works lol.

I'm happy with the changes to Bards. Instant cast WM and a further boost to attack power is pretty much all I wanted! The big potency reduction for Sidewinder is a shame, but overall we're in a much better position than before.

Not an expert of BRD/MCH, but entertain me a bit on this idea:
What if you introduce positionals to BRD/MCH? (pause to dodge furnitures being thrown by outraged ppl...)
WAIT! LET ME ELABORATE...you'll do higher potencies when hitting WS from certain positions roughly equivalent to the dmg buff with WM/GB on (maybe lower since you'll still have your auto-attacks) AND the positional dmg bonus does not stack with WM/GB buff. BRD/MCH still retains WM/GB mechanics, which means you can CHOOSE (and it will be truly between 2 GOOD CHOICES) whether to play as a stationary 'caster DPS' with WM/GB on OR a mobile DPS with WM/GB off (pre-HW) and still be able to do comparable amount of dps.
It won't be OP as if you're standing further away from mob, you will need to walk further than melee to reach your optimum positions and if you decide to stand close like melee you'll 'suffer' the same consquence as the melee dps so it would still be 'balanced' in a way.
Just a silly thought maybe?

The majority of BRDs don't care about the mobility loss. It's that the WM playing style does not suit the sheer number of oGCD abilities BRD have. Toggling off WM to move is fine, toggling off WM to weave in oGCDs is counterproductive yet is how we are forced to play right now to keep everything on CD. (So that's toggling off your damage buff to fire off damaging abilities or use other buffs, totally makes sense)
