Fresh retail start

Most of you would restart as different characters anyway, but if there was a character wipe you'd quit? lol

yoshi-p said they giving everyone a free char change when the missing race coming out so that not a issue. But i did reroll as a elvaan but i have no issue if they hit the reset that mean that everyone is also level 1 so i wont care lol i can just meet up with all my friend make a party and get 50 together.

And there are plenty of us who made our gil via craft or in my case gathering 95% of the time. If characters were reset to level 1 I would leave and not come back, which would be sad I put alot of work not only into into my own character but also into helping others in and out of game.

I actually like the idea of a fresh start. I might consider doing it whether Yoshi resets or not.

Everyone can play the PC version before PS3 release.
If someone wants to wait for PS3 Release, its only his/her problem if the others are higher in ranks.

So theres no need for a wipe. And just because it feels like a beta, it isnt one. Its retail and retail MMOs usually dont get resetted a year after Release just because some did want to begin later.

I wouldnt play after a wipe. Even if i did not paid any monthly fee yet, i still put alot of time in my Character.

I do see a wipe regardless what Yoshi-P said. It would be beneficially to the community. Not this one, the one we have now is extremely small and punitive. I will keep playing regardless of "if" they wipe or not. I will reroll on another server if they bring out new ones, and if they don't I will quit. Too much damage has been done.

Translation: Too many people have way more gil than I do now.


If they can roll out a fundamentally sound system, the economy will survive and thrive regardless of the presence of the ultra-rich, although some people e-peen may not. If they don't, well, then even a reroll will merely delay the emergence of the ultra-rich anyway, and you'd still have a crappy system.

When they open the doors to ps3 players they should open the gates of Ishgard to PC players.

Oh, cause the XBox 360 players did so poorly when they were introduced to FFXI. You guys have no idea what you're talking about. New players rush in for god knows what. Developers don't drop all players down to make it fair for them, in fact, they do something a little more logical.

They edit new player content.

Whoa! I just blew your mind, ya? Anyway, if PS3 players were that worried about being on the same level as the players who have been playing for a year now, they'd be playing the PC version.

This question shouldn't even have to be asked, come on man think a little bit. Dropping all of the current playerbase back to level 1 would lose more subs than they gain on ps3 release.

Remember i said i would not like a reset i would like it but then again i don't want to redo the work. When i did it 3 times rerolling and even in beta o.o getting 15+ was hard and starting over each beta was pain in the ass when you want to test out the harder stuff.

people really think that just because he said no reset on PS3 release there will not be one? The game's state it/was horrible, people leveled and are leveling now in a manner that is not normal, everything is unbalanced....... when PS3 people join in, do you think that is really fare?

It is clear you guys didn't play FFXI from the beginning. I was there on PC before PS2 and Xbox360 releases. We helped them out, leveled new jobs. It was fun. Stop whining, servers won't be wiped.

Servers won't be wiped but it would be nice if at PS3 launch we got a new class or two to level. It was always fun on XI when an expansion was released to see all the 9000 of lv1 <new job> running around haha.

I remember being in a Valkurm Dunes PT with 4 Blue Mages 1 Puppetmaster and a Corsair haha next to two other parties with pretty much the same setup rofl.

EDIT: To answer the OP, I'm at the point now with XIV where I'd pay for a subscription fee for it. I'm having fun, a lot more fun than my later years of XI grinding at least. So for that its worth the $15/mo.

I'm a player who might start from scratch after playing on the same character for a month or two, just because I grow bored of how the character looks like, so personally I wouldn't mind them reseting everyone, hell I've done it like 7 times already and I've played this game for around 5 months total, but I wouldn't like the fact that like 80% of the other players would quit because of it.

They already said they wouldn't reset. Don't worry about it.
