All signs point to Black Shroud restructuring.

I like the Ixali. Was a really boring movie though.
Ixali couldn't get a stronghold in Black Shroud. The hedge keeps them out. The best they can do is send in scouting parties to hunt for food.
If there was gonna be a beastmen stronghold in the Shroud, it'd be for the Sylphs.
Still, yeah, Black Shroud is gonna be restructured, along with other zones.
Makes me wonder why they are going to the effort of adding things to zones if they are going to redesign them. I guess they have to add something though, redesigns will take months.
They can revise the map without completely changing every single detail.Quote:
Q: What is your favorite zone in FFXIV?
Yoshida: Central Mor Dhona, where the remains of the fallen airship can be seen. The place oozes with a sense of adventure. I'm hoping to create more places like this when we revise the map - and make sure there's plenty of content to compliment them!
This. The Ixali venture into the woods for hunting, not because it's where they live. Not to mention the guilds in Gridania is constantly working to keep they away. Even now there's already an Ixali camp in Coerthas and a smaller one in the Black Shroud, near coerthas exit.
I wonder if the spelling of U'Ghamaro is just a romanization of the Japanese name, or if it's just a typo. Because the name is clearly O'Ghomoro, as evidenced by the world map and items/NPCs in-game: http://ffxiv.yg.com/search?s=O%27Ghomoro.
They are not redoing all of the zones, Shroud will get a massive over haul but the main changes to zones will be to make unused and under used area appear thematically different from the rest. They are not going to redo the entire geography of every section of every zone.
Always nice to see new areas...
I just though, these strongholds look a hell of a lot bigger then our city's, with places the npc's could actually live an work, an then in comparison to our hamlets just lol.
those beastmen have fire, technology, and flying shtz. And every one of them fight. \o/ we doomed!
Wow, I wasn't expecting much, but these look pretty good! I just hope they didn't plop them in the middle of somewhere they would get in the way . . . but the Thanalan one is supposed to be down near the Red Labyrinth, so that should work nicely.
Kinda sad about no Black Shroud one, but it makes sense. The sylphs are pretty friendly, and they already have a little sylph area in the Black Shroud up past Nine Ivies. Sorta like a small, non-hostile Beastman Stronghold. ;) Well, maybe one day they will use Moonspore Grove for something besides the storyline quest.
*Gets Conjurer Ready* Your Gonna Need Those Heals!
Looks like Grid is going to get a massive overhaul unlike the other zones who might just be getting spruced up.
Gridania's beastmen aren't exactly a threat... they haven't even summoned Garuda 'cause they're wimps like that.
I was def worried when I seen the SS's but this actually looks awesome and did you see the big treasure chest @ 2:06 I wonder whats inside them and the Kobolds and the Ixie's look the best.
Those critters in the 1st stronghold need to lay off the caffeine and put down the crack pipe...they are spazzin' out.
ouuu looks fun:) music sounds great too
Cannot Wait!
the Alm'ajaa (sp, w/e) all look way to similar.
I dont know why, the others are the same too.
Differentiation please. at least like 3 models for the moment.
simply sad.... 3 stronghold is nice but everyone check your beast coins. oh thats rights right there is 5 beast coins so doesnt everyone else think 5 strongholds should have been done... the materia came from the goblins and im sure thye are not happy wiht one of there own giving us the know how to use it...kokoroons ppl im sure would have been a nice stronghold also since htey like shiny items.
i just feel with the 1yr mark coming and forcing everyone to have the same stats as the next guy, thye really need to give the fans that have held on this long something that doesnt take under a week to do again. Also give some special items for the 1 yr... if u kept ur onion helm from special release we shud get something and if you got the game on normal release and kept the neat head wear you shud get something also.
once this patch hits say good bye to your nice hp and mp gamers and say hello to being average. No more 3039 hp and no more 1600 mp.
Look everyone!
Places!
TO GO TO!
thanks on the correction on the qiqirn race on kokoroon.
i just maint thye could have made a nice turn of events wiht the materia system that the goblins are angry and unhappy about one of their own giving up something so sacred as the materia. From my ff11 days i have feard these crazy sneaky ninjas, if u happen to doze off at the early hrs of the morning you had something to fear because a goblin had his crossbow fixed on your back side. im not a fan of these happy go lucky goblins in xiv, im still waiting for me to pass out in a mine and wake up dead by some dirty goblins making stew by a fire.
i also noticed mariya you didnt coment on the other 2 ideas, i know htye was not on topic but id still like to hear what u think
For Natalan, this is just a guess now, I believe they placed it in Feathersgorge Coerthas, since it was the only place looking similar to there and already had Ixali presence. But I could be wrong.
For the kobolds, the "O'Ghomoro Mines" (SE spelled it wrong, its actually spelled the way I typed it as in game from NPCs and the world map) are actually found none other than... O'Ghomoro. The entrance is North of Camp Iron Lake, La Noscea. Its been blocked off by some prick guard since launch, until now.
Here's a video showing off the kobold lair and where Titan resides inside, along with the entrace~

Hope that helped ya man! =P
That's what I thought too, but Gifthorse brought up a good point:
O'Ghomoro looks to be an entire map area, similar in size to Paglth'an, for example. Notice Natalan and Zahar'ak don't have their own labels on the maps.
exciting! . . . . .
Yeah, he does have a good point. I'll give him that, but the dev team is also notorious for spelling errors. But who knows? You guys are probably right. LOL I'm usually wrong most of the time anyways.
However, I did notice they even typed Final Fantasy XI Lodestone on the Final Fantasty XIV: Chocobo video's info box, don't know if they fixed that yet, but it is a possibility it could be the spelling. But its nothing major to get crazy over. :p
Anyhoo, I'm excited to see what else is inside and what else we can fight amongst the beastmen! :D
I think I know where to go for spiritbinding some materia!
