TY Victor if people cant see ^^^^^^^^ that then i feel sorry for them....its the first thing people see when playing for the first time how boring combat and no jump or character control movement etc.... and they simpley say it sucks and move on....which the point in FFXIV fixing is to get MORE people to join and not just keep the people who like it the way it is...
Well, then get a petition going to bring back 100% collision. That's a start... Then make a petition bringing back the old style and slowly turn it into more action rpg.
i dont want collision its fine the way it is this has nothing to do with collision its a fantasy game....i dont want the old style either i wanna dodge jump and cast while running simple as that....
You can't have an engaging game like that without collision.......... It wouldnt be fun to JUMP inside the mob or just run through it......... gosh. The game would be waaay to easy if you could do that..... Think a little harder for the next post please, thank you ^.^
I'm all for a more involved combat..
Not really fussed about it just looking more fancy alone though, a lot more important things to get working before they just add polish to the game again..
Collision in combat is a must to me, i'm fine with it reduced to a point for general game play, it makes most people happy so fair enough, power to the people an all that shizl...
But id love to see a better AI and combat being more involved and dynamic, with players having to think on the spot and react all the time.
And not just stand on one spot or run though the mob to get behind it, cos that looks so *bad words* its untrue.
Oh and yeh attacks while moving would be nice, maybe reducing Acc/Damage by 25-75% at random to cover that your in motion so there is a trade off for it.

Keep autoattack then if you have such a crush on it, but still make combat not suck.
Lol at Gramul saying this is "fluff". In case you hadn't noticed, combat is a pretty big part of the game, and obviously Yoshi thought the same since it was apparently his biggest priority of his entire life to add autoattack. (even though it fixed nothing and only added more problems).
Fixing the combat system does not equal automating it.
fix =/= autopilot snoozefest.
Look, they've already made combat boring and now they want to make crafting boring too. What's left? Sidequests? Yipeee. (owait, no)
We can still kill things the same as before. I don't see how auto-attack caused any 'problems' apart from causing a small minority of players to complain about it.
The only thing that can be said, which has been said time and time and time again only people don't listen, is that since they're STILL fixing the games core system and mechanics, auto-attack is not the end of the changes to the battle system, it is only the beginning of the changes. As more patches come out to alter the battle system, it will be changed and enhanced so that players won't care about how long auto-attack takes.
The only options open to players who don't like the current battle system 'whilst we wait for the rest of it to be enhanced' is to either go and play another game untill the patch comes out that finally marks the totality of the battle systems operation, or deal with it like the players who aren't complaining about it are whilst waiting for the changes. simply complaining about it's current operation isn't magically going to make S.E change it within a matter of days or weeks, it takes a lot of time and hard work to rebuild a games core functions, and it's not just the battle systems they have to work on right now, it's pretty much everything. If they focus all on one thing, such as the battle system, then players who are more interested in crafting, exploring, doing leves, dungeons or quests will all have to wait even longer for their changes and content.
The way they're doing it now is to have each patch change and fix multiple different parts of the game which benefits EVERY player, not just the ones that like to fight all the time. Give them a bit of patience and eventually the battle system will be what you want, untill then complaining about it isn't going to change anything. If you really want to do something about it, offer suggestions and ideas of what you'd want the battle system to be like when it's finished.
The OP offered suggestions such as being able to move around much more during combat, which is a constructive idea that S.E could consider. A little more detail as to how this would operate and be used would be good so as people would get a better idea of what they'd see in a fight with functions such as that.

I can understand your frustration but you're going a bit overboard with this. Calm down and offer constructive ideas on what and how you would like the battle system to be changed.

Not gonna happen i love drugs and good games and rage on bad games and this is just one of those games....this is no matter the "Creative" or new battle system idea ANYONE offers them it cannot be put into effect because it took them more than half a year to release a simple autoattack that did nothing and they will not spend time redoing for a better physics system or a better battle system after all of that....both of their battle systems have failed....and its taken a year to release 1 major patch (which wasnt even that ground breaking or massive) with 1 more patch released after the year mark.....nothing has changed nothing will change for the next 2-3 years and by that time its already outta date hell its outta date now
thing is behind all this rage i have i wanted this game to succeed so badly i was a fan of FFXI cause it was decent back in the day but i cant go back and play it now its to stiff and boring. i have NEVER in my whole life anticipated a game as much as i did FFXIV and when it came out last september i said (ill give it a few months) well its been a year now and i still look at it in dissapointment.....im so angry.....cause they took the 1 game ive been looking foward to for YEARS AND YEARS and its a mess...

Even chess is more fun than ffxiv combat. there's more strategy, more actions.
And even it's faster.
Even S.E admitted it shouldn't have been released in the state it was in when it they sent it out. It needed at least another 2 years of development but Tanaka gave it the ok for release.
As for the constant myriad of complaining about when the battle system will be changed that's mixed into the confusing spam of your writing, I'd like to draw your attention to this Letter From The Producer XVII.
As you can see in there the battle system will be tweaked in 1.19 which is very soon, and the adjustments to the battle system will be in 1.20. Since S.E have currently been releasing patches at a reasonable 2-3 month gap, the thing you're screaming so loudly for isn't too far away.
If you can't be patient and wait a little longer for this change to be put in, well, that's your problem.

Autoattack was a waste of time and only gave the developers more excuses to make FFXIV even slower.

... Um, then take autoattack out.
It still has positioning.
Example:
1: There's a PUG skill where positioning an enemy behind you will enable you to evade it's attacks more often.
2: There's also a PUG skill which increases the damage of your next attack if you're standing behind the enemy.
Haven't played much of the other DoW classes so don't know about their skills, but that was too perfectly good examples that you can't argue against.
But if you actually played this game instead of just complaining about it, you'd know these things, which you clearly don't.
You can position yourself to dodge some aoe attacks and backward and frontal attacks
