You're totally not going to have a login rush when people want to play content that JUST CAME OUT YESTERDAY.

Problems with that that I see if SE does not want to have more servers ( which I financially understand by the way:

1) Stop promising early access, you are unable to deliver it

2) If I am in queue and I get kicked out, don't push me back at the end of the queue, its infuriating.

Maybe they should make more Data centers and have realms moved if this is an issue, kinda seems stupid. I am a new player, and as a new player this is not a good first start with the game

your sec token won't run out of battery power that fast, even IF it does, you can just go on mogstation, use the code on the back of your token, and get it unregistered to your account, then use the FREE smartphone app made by SE that acts as a free security token and use that instead.

in the decision holders eyes of SqEx, if the problem dissipates after x amount of time without their intervention, it does not require a fix, also SqEx has stated in the past they want to maintain a 'healthy population' and have 'exceeded' their expectations for a population, which translates to, 'goal met sit back and stay at the norm'

Not solid reasoning. If it's a temporary issue that they know for a fact is going to last a few weeks, then they need to allocate extra space for those few weeks. From a business standpoint, it is a bad idea to take someone's money and then refuse them access to a product. Temporary inconvenience or not, this is an ongoing problem that Square seems to have, and has made zero effort to recompense or help dislocated players, instead relying on silence.

Aside from that, being unable to log in after subscribing tends to leave a pretty shitty taste in one's mouth, and reviewers don't tend to look kindly on games they can't even play.

I am on Cerberus and don't even get to log in, error 2002 server error.

Oh I know I was only kidding, fact is, I still got my original v1.x security token to use as a backup, then the ARR one I got, I am still rocking the one I got for FFXI haha, but cheers anyway!

@Blamebot: I dont think they really care. Enough ppl will pay and play no matter how bad stuff is,cause their is enough excuses.

We need separate European servers to the U.S.

Ughh it's annoying having to input a password AND security token each time, especially if you have a strong password. Makes me want to disable the security token and change my password to something short and simple.

@SurfChemist - I almost said the same earlier, I logged in and was amazed that on a Saturday evening (8pm local time) I got on without any troubles.. then I got booted an hour later and everything went to pot.. as I said earlier, this happened roughly same time last night for me, but I thought it was all sorted, and was about to say "good squeenix"

Really frustrating...same time as yesterday with this problem.:(

Just tried to log in again and got server error 5006, which is a new one for me. Still can't log in though, maybe we should just play Bingo with the numbers instead?

Why are we happy to get early access, when we know we're just going to be guinee pigs for the servers? :mad:

@dudedukeston: tbh, I told friends before "lets see how much we can play at early access"........and I was right. We can and have to expect that stuff coming when SE do early access

That would probably be suicide for your account. The next thing you know you would be appearing as a Gil seller, Then you could be everybody's "friend"!

I't doesn't take a genius, or even someone mildly intelligent to expect and prepare for a mass of extra log ins during a mjor patch.

ipconfig /flushdns

Looks like this may be related to a DNS caching error?

Diablo I agree. I mean I did expect that issue and I dont work in that business. So where is that guy in company saying "oh yoshi, maybe the server might have issue like 2.0 at early access"? 2 years ago we had that example: Why you invite 1000 people to a party but dont have enough space for everyone`?

I have A Realm Reborn on PS 4, i might try logging in on that.
Won't be the new content but at least I can play and level a character.
Anyone else tried a console log in, must be a different access route surely? :confused:

Can you walk through exactly how you did that? Is it...:
-Start menu
-cmd
- ipconfig
- /flushdns

Need free transfers off overpopulated servers, with compensation for property owned.

It is not a DNS caching error else all data center would not work for those getting the 2002 errors. This is purely a server side issue that the devs have already been working on. Everyone just needs to exercise some patience. I believe it is a domino effect that started with Balming. Supposedly it is the most popular server on Aether DC and the extensive login rush crashed it and then it trickled its way down.

And for the record, this is nothing compared to original launch and ARR launch.

I just was able to get back in.
Suggestion. Take your younger sibling for a walk, your niece/nephew, son/daughter. By the time you get back, you will be able to get back in.

I love how when we pay for games they never seem to work for too long, never had this issue with free to plays.

As much as I appreciate this sentiment the opposite is basically my reality: I'm a parent who only has time to play at night, in primetime, and as such I've been functionally locked out of early access (as has my husband).

I can connect.. almost, I just get into the login queue and the number doesn't move for 15 minutes.. /sigh

same problem: code 2002 for 2hrs +

now almost 5 hours later and i got 1 in queue then waited 10 mins then got 2002. Tried again but could not get to character screen and I got a 5006 error. Now back to repeated 2002. The funny thing is i can log right into the japanese elemental data center and unicorn server in less than 30 seconds. :(
