The fact that /cpose does not actually change your default pose, so in cut-scenes you are forced to stare at yourself using the default one that you hate so much.
Also, the lack of glamour options for DoM classes (DoW's get to use our stuff because it's labeled as "all classes"). At the very least we should be able to cross glamour between healer and dps stuff.
Thanks everyone that answered me.
One of the coolest mounts in the game (Twintania) being locked for most of the playerbase who have already referred friends (pre-referral code) or those (like me...sigh) whose friends don't play MMOs.
I don't see how or why they would need to balance anything...if all DD or all healers go in they have to figure out how to deal with not having the required jobs in the dungeon...if its designed to be done a certain way then that's how it has to be done...but nothing wrong with people taking the initiative to try and do things differently...they'll just have to find a way to compensate for the design...
That one basilisk in the middle of the intersection between all the cobalt ore nodes
everything about materia
You could do that with 1.0 and how it went is you would go with a AE jobs for the trash, then switch to MNK for the boss, if you didn't have that job, no dungeons for j00. When theres no tank, you should be able to fill that spot if you have a geared tank job, but being able to switch just because you want to, no. As can imagine now players queing as tank, then switching to DPS when they are inside. People are stupid, plan for it ^_^
My minor annoyance is players confusing an Auction House with a marketplace, with an Auction House you bid. Marketplace you pay or dont, the set amount. But yeah tis a pain the limitations on how many menus you can have open at once.
They are making it so trial players cannot send friend requests which will cut down on that due to trial accounts needing zero investment for a throwaway account (aka they know it will get banned).
No arguments there, also Not so sure they would need reducing in potency as the strength is based off potency + stats which would be reduced anyways with level syncing.
Good, it was a waste of space in FFXI and a serious cause of balance issues due to power being divided, plus DRG is a Dragon killer, not a Dragon breeder. Wouldnt object to a minion tho. Job minions would be cool.
Skill chains in FFXI where really used as it was more efficient to just TP burn than SC. Also it increases the difficulty of Balance, and I would prefer to have a game that is as close to balance that every job is viable for all content than more flash and pazaaz and balance falls out the window.
But to one of my niggles. Not being able to mail bewtween alts, painfully obvious it didnt stop RMT so no reason to not add it, plus the ability for alts to have full access to private homes on the same account.
Having no access to friends list, linkshells or FC while in dungeons/raids.
Having to dismiss my Chocobo to queue for dungeons.
Urianger's dialogue.
I feel like I'm the only one who understands how the tab targeting system works in this game. This "Can't see the health bar" issue IS annoying and I'll give you that one. Otherwise it's not hard to understand. When you hit tab and nothing's selected, it'll target the closest target to you (In front of you). When you hit tab any time after that, it'll proceed to the right to the next target on the screen regardless of distance from the player. It goes to the right. If you hold Shift when you hit Tab, it will instead cycle to the left. It worked the exact same way in XI. In this way, a savvy player can angle the camera, or change their facing on the fly to tab-target directly to the target they wish to select, knowing that the selector will proceed to the right from the current target.
Things that actually annoy me in-game: The Materia system, not being able to mount anything other than my chocobo when my chocobo is out, not being able to queue for things with my chocobo out, my inability to dismount automatically upon using a combat ability, housing costs/availability.
Lack of in game curves
(THIS PICTURE IS A LIE BTW SQUARE)
Lack of housing,
Lack of blue hair for elezen
Lack of water spells on WHM
Gaius card. (Beginning to think it doesn't exist)
When playing in a DF group there is always a person that constantly brags, complains, and lectures another person about how he or she would play their Job/Roles because they think they can do better and player better than that person.
On this note,
I once ask this type of person "Why don't you play this *job/role* if you want *this thing* to happen?"
and the person says...
"I hate playing this *job/role*."
Then I ask "How long have you even played this *Job/Role*?"
Then the person replied "I haven't played this *Job/Role* ever since I maxed level it to level 50"
Then I finally ask "Then how do you know you'll do better than me if you never use that *Job/Role* for the level 50 contents?"
Then the person went on a Rage Rant on the chat cursing at me and bragging about how his FC member can do better and how they have better gear then me and beating Coil *insert Turn Number* and how I suck because of my gear then after 10 minutes of constant ranting he finally rage quit.
Then another person in my group said "Well he was a As*****."
and I just said "Yep".
Then DF found a replacement with a better and nice attitude.
Fate's spawning on top of things I want to access.
Underrated post.
EDIT: On-topic, Thaumaturges (and Black Mages) that don't understand how Astral Fire and Umbral Ice work. Leading from that, players that don't read the tooltips on their skills after they get new ones and thus don't know how to use them. Summoners/Arcanists that don't understand that Summon II is not meant to replace Summon (which, again, is rather handily discovered by *gasp* reading the tooltip!)
I guess, in general, I dislike players that don't use all of the resources at their disposal (and there are many, most without needing to tab out and open a browser window, at that) to learn how to play the game. I understand if you still have a green sprout next to your name, but there are folks at ARR level cap that don't understand how their classes work!
Mobs that cast Heavy on me while I'm trying to get somewhere, who then REAPLY Heavy for a full 20 seconds... Again. -_-
People Who spam abilities like Holy, Blizzard, Jump (Drg), etc in town. I know I can turn other peoples sounds off but I don't want to/shouldn't have to.
Characters fighting armor glamoured in bikinis. I don't know why but whenever I see it I *eyeroll*, can't help it lol.
Not being able to stay logged out inside my FC house. I get why they did that at first, but since you can run through everything I wish I could get it back so I can log out in my bedroom & my big fancy bed :(
I'm sure there's other stuff but those were the things that annoy me the most that I could think of haha.
Oh gosh, this I can definitely agree with.
Um, I do hate how the story centers around there being only one warrior of light. You see other Warriors of Light in the epic cinematic that ended the original FFXIV game (you know, with bahamut blowing stuff up like a jerk), and you'll see your party members in some of the MSQ cutscenes. It throws me off, honestly.
Miqote tails. I feel like most of the options don't really look kitty-like to me, and the fluffy one (which IMO is by far the best) looks... odd at the back. Like instead of it being a fluffy tail, the fur joins together to look like a flat plus sign (+) at the tip of it. That used to drive me crazy, lol. If I didn't feel like such a zombie today, I'd go through my screenshots to find an example.
I had someone like that but he immediatly wanted to start picking apart my gear and telling me how under geared I was for Wanderers Palace Hardmode before we even began, think I was ilv 97 so he ended up ditching and being a DPS himself, had to suffer the wait while just us 3 cleared to the first boss when a Summoner joined in with no issues at all.
- Gear! :- the fact that every single piece of gear is disposable / throw away junk. there's no long term goals or real lasting sense of reward or accomplishment because everything is junk a month after you get it.
in turn this kind of kills content. you can have really hard content like coil. and players don't even try it. why? because a, the gear is disposable junk, and b, they know it'll be nerfed in a month and made easier, thus you get a huge chunk of players who simply don't bother trying until it's been nerfed.
I read that 3.0 will have a really hard alexander extreme mode, that's cool, but everyone knows in 2 or 3 months it'll be a laughably easy joke of a fight. so why even bother with it...
the very nature of gear design also kills long term goals and focus in ffxiv. everything is so quick and easy to get. with exception of artificial barriers such as poetics caps or 1 drop limits.
kinda why I'm not to fussed about heavensward. my only real interest is in the story, so may as well wait till 3.3 or 3.4 and do the whole lot. skipping all the gear grinding and junk collection from 3.0 - 3.3 entirely.
basically repeating what I did in 2.0. I came back 3 months ago burnt the main scenario, got myself access to crystal tower and went straight for the i120 gear, skipping every thing that players had spent ages getting cos it's all worthless junk., and from there started working on poetics.
oh and chocobos :- summoning your chocobo means you can't queue for duty finder.... why????
Something like that happened to me two days ago!
I was healing, and the tank kept complaining about what I was doing, even though we were going just fine! Even yelled at a poor bard for using aoe skills! Then he got his supriority hat on telling me how he could just leave and screw us over... So I told him to stop being a big baby!
And then he called me a mean name and left!
And then I left and quickly rejoined in-progress as a Paladin - and we did just fine! :D
Point being: I hate people who think they are the only ones capable of doing their job, especially when they really aren't all that good at it! How very obnoxious!!!
My biggest one is latency. I'm in Australia, closest data centre is in Japan. I'm always dodging an AoE ,such as landslide in Titan ,and I see myself get out of the way of it with time to spare and I still take the friggen damage! UGH
Heavy (it's like there's fat guy sitting on top your head, 20sec hurry up with that burgers)
ppl cry about how easy this game, just give us one boss open world that we can't kill and one shoot us every time (no not Sephiroth)
yup this one can't queue up with your pretty chocobo out
To many AKF players (wait..they he go afk? when? is he/she coming back?)
The mute game in dungeon not even hello and thank you (dummy 101 where not machine)
RMT (always in busy mode)
#s 1-100: Targeting.
101: Not being able to glamour a slot instead of equipment. i.e., I'd like to be able to see my WoD gear on LNC and not on DRG but still be able to use the same equipment for the two.
102-200: Targeting.
The fact that a rank 10 chocobo is a worse healer than a rank 9 because why spam medica for 200hp? (not even spam he uses choco surge waits 10sec casts choco medica and waits 10 sec for another choco surge), my chocobo casted medica when i was dieing, and he had full hp and then another fight after i died my chocobo died and he proceded to choco cure me for 800hp when i was full hp and he died.
Oh and at Rank 9 he spammed choco cure when i was below 50% hp almost literally.
People with lore-inappropriate names
(YES i am aware of the irony, shh)
Bard! I just refuse to use it. Most stupid job of all.
My nitpick is when you have 24 rings in your armory chest and the game tells you there isn't enough armory space to change gear sets
#1 and #2 - most annoying for me is I HAVE NO DIALOGUE...just those ridiculous nods. That is just so completely inappropriate that the most important person in the game never says a visible word... and even worse my face might as well be made of stone for all the change in emotion that crosses it
All the other NPCs show emotions, why not me?
#3 = TAB TARGET - fail target 90% of the time!
#4 = Doors I must click multiple times to get through. ONE right click please!
Why not simply have the blue dotted line which just changes zones? No clicking needed!
#5 = not being able to change the size of INDIVIDUAL UI elements! I want an adjustable size mini map, enemy list, main and focus target...oh hell just about all of the UI elements. Yes I know about the % slider bar but that's for the whole thing, not individual bits.
#6 = There should be a setting to allow for autorun of cutscenes so no constant clicking is needed!
I like tab targeting and yet I hate it sometimes. The idea is you change targets and the order you change depends on where they are placed in your field of view. Because of this I can sometimes angle my camera so when I tab target I completely miss a few mobs so I target what I want.
I don't really have any rants, at least any I can think of.. Sometimes a lot of the issues in this game aren't because of the game, but the players(trolls, gil sellers, ect.)
I play with a friend, we're both dps. When we sign on every day, we have to split up to do our duty roulette, which wait time/dungeon will usually take over an hour. So if we only have 1 - 2 hours that day, we pretty much can't play together.
People calling it Mana, it's called MP people...
Now something like that doesn't bother me. It's pretty interchangeable since so many different games use different lingo for that same resource bar. MP, Mana, Mana Points, Magic Points, Magic Power, etc. I usually try to correct myself with the appropriate names for each game but most people play other games as well and/or can completely figure out what I'm saying.
A tank once said taunt it, and i kept dpsing and he started spamming and i didn't understand at all then he started calling me names for no taunting the mob, i went ahead and asked wth is taunt and he stood there quiet then told me and i was like oh, i never played wow so you where just shouting me random stuff.
Don't use other game terms even if its ff11 expecting for everyone to know what it is.
DPS usually being the last to ready up in DF. You would think with the wait times DPS would be the first ones to hit ready but for some reason they take their sweet time.
With the wait times, DPS are more likely to be doing something else, anything else, while they're waiting. Fishing, crafting, gathering, or even just finishing up a fight, TT match, or cutscene from an different quest. Healers and tanks don't lose a lot if they just sit for the usually short wait, but a DPS generally can't afford to just sit and do nothing, hoping the queue pops.
And I still get annoyed that my fishing rod doesn't have a line.
Mine's really more story related but...
*Our character's pretty much doing nothing dynamic in cut scenes.
I would love if we actually locked swords/weapons with a big bad or something. Instead we're pretty much a glorified errand boy, our max gear might as well be a maid suit~ (not that I wouldn't mind tbh)
That's my only complaint that comes to mind.
Long queue times.
Not being able to queue with bird out.
Not being able to understand anyone in DF groups (Japan data center).
You can also resize elements that don't appear in the UI like character menu, fishing log, golden saucer menu, ect... the same way.
