This is also how I see Raubahn and Nanamo; they really seemed to mean the world to each other. Adopting a Lalafell son is kind of like the child they would never have. D; (But then again... fantasia is a thing! XD I would have loved to see lala!Raubahn or highlander!Nanamo, lol!)

Other pairings I forgot to mention earlier but I do really like are Yda and Y'shtola (the scene where Yda literally punched a bullet back into Livia's gun to protect Y'shtola was so great!), Godbert and Julyan, and Jacke and the Stray. Also, because I am total trash, I like to pretend that Cid and Nero was a thing in their rebellious teenage pasts and now they are really awkward exes poorly dancing around the elephant in the room. It just makes every one of their scenes twenty times funnier.

A question relating to allusions to Thancred and Minfillia...

According to the opening CS in 1.0 Thancred is like way older than Minfillia?

I never thought of a physical relationship before that son popped up and imagined them more in a relationship of trust and reliance maybe with a hint of bittersweet love on Raubahn's side for he knows an actual relationship will never work out (since she is royal & a lala). But when that son popped out of nowhere and was a lala....and the son of Raubahn who has about as much lala genes in him as a strawberry has rabbit genes....I was like, wtf, what are they hinting on?! xD

After defeating Ravana, Eistienin w/e was saying how worried he was about us....Something like a maid worried for her master?
So cute when it seemed like he was blushing and stuff and walked away.

Also Eisetien w/e and Iceheart please.

And their names and faces are so similar that I constantly mix them up..

I liked the MomodixThancred relationship that was implied in the ul'dah story for 1.0. Momodi's so no-nonsense, and Thancred is so damn flirty, I would love to see them interact more.

Agreed. By the time you finish 3.0 you've learned just how devoted Lucia is to Aymeric, and how much she's given up to stay with him. 3.0 spoilers:

-She can never return to Garlamond, she has wholly devoted herself to Ishgard because of Aymeric
-He doesn't care that she's Garlean
-She doesn't care that he's the bastard son of the pope
- Everything Aymeric does is for Ishgard, and everything Lucia does is to support his dream of Ishgard, in whatever way she can

I know them having kids would be frowned upon by Ishgardian society (mixed races and all) but can Garleans even reproduce with other races, what with the third eye? Is it a genetically dominant trait? Will something horrible happen to their foreheads?

I don't really have any feelings either way about most of the couples in game, but one thing I do know...

Caitlyn of Camp Drybone looks like a woman in need of meat.

Leveva and Jannequinard's bodyguard (his name escapes me)! I'm only a level 51 AST, but it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to see there's something there between them. When talking to him during one of the level 50 quests and he said that he'd have to hold Leveva's hand on the way home (to keep from being seperated, of course /wink), I started grinning like an idiot.

Other than that, I am a big fan of Nanamo x Raubahn and Cid x Nero.

Yeah, I think they are as confirmed a couple as can be given the state of Ishgard at present. She basically gave up her entire life for him.

Raubahn and Nanano is definitely my fave. You can feel the chemistry between them, and it becomes even more obvious at the end of 2.55 and during the Heavensward story (desperately trying to avoid spoilers here!).

Raubahn even has an adopted Lalafell son, so it just feels right to pair those two together. Maybe it's romantic or maybe Raubahn see's her as a daughter, either way it's adorable to see them together. And during the Heavensward plot, let's just say I got through a couple of tissues wiping away those tears.

Isn't Nanamo like 20 years old? And how old is Raubahn, like over 35 years old? More? I could see him thinking of her as a daughter mostly.

For those who have finished the 60 BRD quest: Sanson and Gydelot.

Even the NPCs say they bicker like an old married couple.

Uptight lancer and glam bard ftw.

I feel like I need to hurry up and get BRD to 60 just so I can see this couple that everyone seems to love :3

Slow as I am, I still haven't finished the 3.0 story, so now that I'm finally close to finishing it...I get the feeling SE just hates us pairing up NPCs xD
Even couples I didn't like at first but warmed up to at some point get destroyed in the meanest ways possible ;_;

(namely Ysayle and Estinien this time, I already complained about the others before, like how Raubahn and Nanamo seemed impossible after 2.55, or what happened to Ellie and Briardien)

1. Lucia and Ameryic
2. Yda and Papalymo (Papalymo is alot older, so maybe there is more of a father and daughter relationship between them.)
3. Wedge and Tataru


I dont understand why people are shipping Ysayle with Estinien? They were bickering most of the storyline and at the end I felt like they had only respect for one and another. I did not sense any hint of love and there was no friendship at all.

Also Haurchefant x my character. I know, our characters don't count but he's the only NPC the WoL's had any on screen chemistry with whatsoever, come on...

Ditto on both counts. Estinien is the type of guy that is focused on what he does, and he seemed to be growing and learning from his experiences with the WoL and Ysaile during the MSQ. And yes, I saw it too; a squabbling couple of different idealogies.

That's not how it works. You can't actually love something you hate, because then you wouldn't be truly hating it. You can be mad at yourself for liking it, because you maybe know it's bad for you, but no actual hate. Rivalry, different ideologies, bickering - those aren't hate. And of course, a strong obsession with one person whom you hate can turn into liking or even love at some point, but it's simply not making any sense to say it's possible at the same time. If you hate everything, you can't love any of the things you hate, that's it.
(Although, honestly, Estinien doesn't have that kind of deep feelings for anything early on. He just considers himself so high up that everything else is weak, disgusting and not worth his notice for quite a while, except for his hometown which he seems to deeply care about)

But if you read my comment on the last page, you know that I already succumbed to that couple :o That only happened though, because Estinien changed a lot after he found out the truth about the Dragonsong war.
He is still true to his somewhat sarcastic and prideful character, but he stops looking down on EVERYTHING like he did beforehand, and that was the point where I could first see him in any kind of relationship like actual friendship or even love, in Ysayle's case.

I never said it was possible at the same time, but the line between love and hate is so thin that it's fairly easy to cross.

Before the Aymeric thing came out of left field, I was thinking with all the talk of Ishgard not having a king until someone worthy came along, I figured Estinien would learn about stuff over the course of the journey, and by the end of the storyline (3.5 or whatever) he'd somehow decide to rule over Ishgard, having grown to understand more than just the "man vs dragon" bit, including the importance of unifying the people of Ishgard to bring about a better future. Maybe bring in Ysaile somehow to help bridge that gap between the former heretics and the people inside the city walls. A campy solution but I'm a sucker for characters that become better people over the course of the story.

Still trying to decide which I like better between "guy that learns he's had his head up his ass and becomes better for it" (Estinien) and "illegitimate son that's always wanted to do good but until recently lacked the power to do so" (Aymeric).

Tataru and Wedge, they are just so adorable even if Tataru doesn't know he exists most times.. lol..

I loved seeing Estinien warm up to others, but I couldn't imagine him in the position you suggested, so...

But I'm glad he's not dead yet. Although that actually came as a shock of some sort xD I thought he had died (or well, his consciousness and soul) and been reunited with Ysayle in death, only his lifeforce left in this world now used by Nidhogg. Going around talking to NPCs after the great finale, Alphinaud suddenly said "Ok, time to get Estinien back to normal." and I was like "Oh, we can get him back? xD Didn't expect that.." xD
We'll see which direction they take with him in the next patches, but even if Aymeric hadn't taken the leadership role already, I doubt Estinien would have been the ruler type sitting around doing deskwork and stuff.

Also the pair from the machinist story. Totally ship them. Like. Stephanivien and Joy.

And sort of the pair from the drk post 50 story. Maybe not now. But I could see it happening as she gets a bit older and they spend more time together
