Just let lightning's connection with ffxiv die alreadyyyyy.
Some people only want it for them self and not for others.
There is no for you, only for me.
Nothing can hurt you if others can have that.
Oh wait.. maybe your dignity because that's the only thing that you can show off.
At this point, I would rather they just put the hairstyle in the cash shop and call it done!
Forget Lightning, bring on events for Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, and Xenogears!
If the items aren't brought back in an event, I would much rather see them in the Gold Saucer than in the cash shop.
Saucer needs more stuff.
They did the event twice and it usually happens around early/mid september...so if they decide to do the event again or even put the hairstyles in the shop, september is when it'll happen
Would be nice for those who missed the event, I don't really care if it came back on repeat. I think SE should 'try' to do what they say, so if they say it is exclusive to particular scenario then to keep it that way (and if said scenario can or cannot repeat per logic then it can or cannot), but I think a lot of times limited time event and similar wording is misconstrued as "once ever only". A limited time event can be placed on repeat, if it has a duration it is limited and timed (like the sales we are inundated on specific time frames the same time every year). Similar wording issue we also have "the following 1.0 items will become unobtainable in 2.0" does not lock in status for all eternity but only notates that at least the short term future opportunity is restricted, but that does not require long term restrictions.
Of course they can just do what they said they wouldn't too lol. I don't remember the specific wording on the Lightning event but I imagine it was "limited time special opportunity" and not "we'll never do this event again, ever".
Saucer seems a good as any place to pack FF crossover stuff, plus that seems like a good relation.. More players play the saucer due to desireable items which means a more effective use of development time vs hours players spend in the saucer - leading to more and better games for players to play with, and more prizes, making more players play in the Saucer.
I'd be fine with a Xenogears only event, those other Xeno games weren't nearly as good. Also, technically Chrono Trigger did get a sequel. An absolutely terrible sequel that I genuinely wish didn't exist, but that's besides the point. I only brought those up because those are my favorite SE games, although I rank Chrono Trigger as my single favorite game of all time.
The problem with releasing it (once again) before heavensward is that there will ALWAYS be new people that didn't do the event. The cycle begins again that the new person will come to the forums and ask for the event (once again) to make the event go live (again) It's gonna be an endless cycle. So a proper solution? Just make the hairstyles/weapons obtainable via Gold Saucer. That way everyone gets a chance to get it. Now the less appealing way is via Cash Shop buttttttt let's hope that isn't the way.
I don't think limited events should be brought back all the time because people say so. That kinda defeats the purpose. It certainly won't hurt me, but it doesn't make much sense either. The Lightning and the Shantotto event were brought back eventually in last August for the one year anniversary event that was heald as a thank you for players. That's when I did them both. It is not impossible that we will get a second year anniversary event as well. However I don't think SE will or even should bring back a limited event just because people don't like the current hairstyles.
Why Lightning?
We should bring Cloud into all this that gives that SOLDIER uniform (Not the advent one)
I mean... you know DRK and buster sword and all.
OH AND SQUALL FOR THAT GUNBLADE.
I'm sure MCH would like that.
But why stop there? Let's just bring ALL the main FF chars together, so XIV can be called Dissidia: Reborn!
I don't really care if the event comes back again or if some of the glam items manifest in the cash shop or gold saucer. What does bum me out a bit about people wanting the same events to come back over and over again is that it's recycling old events and i'd really like to see some new ones instead. There's many more final fantasy characters that I'd love to see visit eorzea at some point.
Why did you cut off the last 3 words from each bolded section? Becasue it didn't support your argument? Yes I was glad I could do it. But I didn't ask SE to bring it back for me because I didn't like the other hairstyles. Again, it was first done to promote Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII and was done again to thank players who gave ARR a chance in the year after the re-release. If it comes back be glad it comes and enjoy yourself but don't pretend that selfish people want to deprive you of your rights.
Look, i don't expect from anyone here to support my wish. And i don't think that it is my right to get the Hairstyle from Lightning. I didn't say that i don't like the existing Hairstyles.
And i don't want to argue with anybody.
I was just thinking that it would be fun to meet Lightning ingame ( i liked her) and her Hairstyle would be a "nice to have". I like to play around with glamouring my Chars.
I said it already, if SE does not bring back the Event, I'm fine with it.
So are most of us forgetting that the event has actually played out three times so far? I mean, even if just twice people can say a special encore, but it's happened three times. I think it's safe to say that the event will be making another debut; whenever it happened.
Lightning Returns is due out on PC in the next few months so there might be a *chance* they'll run the event one more time at that point since it's a good promotion for that game. It would certainly explain why they haven't added it to the cash shop already since they surely can see how many people want the hair and how much money they'd get from it.
I hate to be the one to do this, but. If I can't have the Goobue/Legacy Chocobo/Dalmud Horn/White Ravens/Dated Gear/etc., you can't have the FFXIII/DQX/FFXI crossover stuff, either. Limited event is limited, yo.
Besides, there's already been *three* chances for it (so far), while those of us waiting for the 1.0 stuffs we were denied (by the version planned for our platform of choice suddenly getting cancelled) have had *none*.
(Though the appearance of the Moonlet in the Cash Shop does give me hope...)
Honestly, I'd rather they didn't. Being limited time award sort of makes it special. I mean, I'm not really a collector or anything, but having everyone being able to grab the hairstyle for a few bucks or a handful of mgp would certainly take away from it for me.
So tired of people asking for this, for the love of god put it in the gold saucer so these ppl will shut up. I dont even care about it being exclusive anymore. Just put it up for a million MGP or something because the gold saucer needs some revitalization.
Just sell the stupid things.
People have had 3 opportunities to get it for free.
It stops being a 'special edition' thing if you just keep releasing it over and over again.
I have no interest in the hairstyle since i'm a male (I don't even think males can wear it, but I dislike it anyways.)
However, hair and beards and colors and such that changes your appearance greatly should be something that should always come back eventually.
Ok, I withdraw my question.
I don't want to be responsible for the heart attacks those hateful people might get if they are losing the only thing that makes them exclusive, a Videogame Hairstyle.
I'm not exactly dying to get it, but if they did add at least the "Grimoir Wing" arcanist weapon to the Gold Saucer or Cash Shop, I'd pay MGP or a couple of dollars for it. It easily looks better than 90% of the other weapons that are available for the Class/Jobs. The only real weapon for it that I like more in terms of appearance is possibly the Poetics one, and for someone like me who doesn't want to grind for them, that's still quite a ways away......
Actually, (they even stated this, and it was also obvious) they did the even the first time to advertise the game when it launched in Japan and the second time to advertise the game when it launched internationally. Similarly, there was some event in FFXIII:LR were you can get a Mi'qote costume (the racial clothes) for the effect of advertising FFXIV since the during the International release, it was close to the launch of FFXIV on PS4. The only chance for this event to be offered again is to again advertize the launch of the game (which means that if it's not near the PC release, then it's not coming again). That being said, they don't do this for all of their games (e.g. Type Zero) so I wouldn't expect things from FFXV or KH3. Although most people don't remember, but they also did a Dragon Quest event for the same reason around the same period.
IGN stated that they would be doing an event for FFXV. I don't know if they are doing one for KH3 though. I really wished we had one for Type-0 though T-T, Type-0 battle music in XIV would be epic!
Linkies ^^ http://au.ign.com/articles/2015/05/2...nal-fantasy-14
It would be overall pulled from the Seiken Densetsu series and Chrono series (all of two official games), so not hard to do if it's, for example, a reference to a tree of great power or Lavos per se. On the note of Xenogears, yes SE has the rights and ownership to it, which is also the reason why Xenosaga and Xenoblade can't outright make connections to Xenogears in the first place aside from references with just enough ambiguity to not get in trouble; they are, really, different beasts now, so it technically should be a non-issue for them to pull from Xenogears (like Weltall stomping around, since that is specifically Xenogears).
Why do people like Lightning?
Snow's better by a long shot.
Actually it IS kind of an issue for one kinda sticky reason.
See, Xenogears' producer was the same guy that SE FIRED before they put Yoshida in charge. Add to that, many or all of the writers for the game, and thus the people who created the assets, either don't work for the company or, in one case, are actually dead.
Thus they'd have to shell out royalties to a lot of people they would probably rather not shell out royalties to in order to use anything from Xenogears. Chrono Cross and Seiken Densetsu were also produced by him.
Remember that even getting Terra's Theme into the game, which was created by Uematsu in a main series game, had legal problems before it could be added. Content involving royalties being paid out to people who don't work for the company or were flatout FIRED is very unlikely to happen unless there's a lot of call for it to make it worth paying all those royalties to get.
Sooo yeah we're talking cash shop or nothing here.
