It never was. It's always Fuuton -> Suiton -> Raiton, with an additional Raiton thrown in thanks to Kassatsu. In the future we'll just have even more Raiton. Hardly exciting - especially considering they nerfed our mudras back when they made our poisons Physical only. Of all the classes, NIN was a huge disappointment in the live letter, and sadly it's exactly the class I meant to play. An aggro reduce skill, and more Raiton. And positionals. Hooray. Especially after they showed what MNK and DRG will get, it was painful to behold.Quote:

I like everything so far EXCEPT Bard stuff and SMN stuff.
Summoner - Being a Pet/Summon class with no new summons is hilarious.
Bard - I'm happy for the people who wanted to be a more DPS side of the class, but I want support stuff too...
I feel like the stuff AST will make me incredibly happy since they have more supportive skills...but those skills I wanted to see on Bard.
I have to see what MAC has in terms of support but I think I'm hanging up my harp and bow for BRD. -

I don't really like the addition of more positionals to nin as the lack of them was the main reason I enjoyed it, but aside from that everything looks really neat. I think they're being clever on how to solve complaints people have without making it unbalanced. The bard stance is brilliant, I think the summoner dreadwyrm thing is the most exciting thing added, and changes to tanks makes me actually have an interest in tanking in this game, which up to now has been the only mmo where I don't main tank.

I love the new styles and its not overly complicated which is what I love. I just hope they fixed the clipping on cloaks/robes that are below the ankles. Its really distracting.

It's a mixed bag for me. There are some exciting changes and some less than exciting changes. There are a few huge disappointments and some really solid additions which I'm looking forward to getting my hands on. I doubt that many people will agree with everything that's being added or changed, and I know that I'm not alone in being disappointed with some of the changes.
The big one for was summoner. Right now it's one of my least used classes. Our summons are pathetic, our entire job role relies too much on our DoT damage and all they're doing to appease players who wanted new summons is give us some reskins. Thanks SE. Making the same summon look different is totally why we were complaining in the first place (/sarcasm).
The main issue I have with summoner is that because of their heavy DoT reliance, their damage is quite slow compared to other classes. We don't have any strong AoE 'nukes' and Bane only hits a maximum of 3 other targets. Against trash, this makes us THE weakest class in the game, since it's entirely reliant upon our ability to cast 3 spells on a target and bane repeatedly until everything is hit. For fights where adds need to die fast, this is a REAL pain in the backside and is the core that needed to be addressed. It wasn't.
At the very least they could have given us a Ruinga or something. Summoner needs some decent damage skills which don't rely on DoT. -

I'm very excited for the changes. Each job is getting a shake up and everything is going to be fresh and new. I can't wait for 3.0. 2.0 was a blast but it's time to move on to a more mature more developed game experience.

Between the slashing debuff and mudra lag, it is actually a slight DPS increase over Raiton if you are weaving it into your rotation. Use Raiton if you are moving between targets or there's a disconnect that'll take longer than a single GCD.Quote:
