Or you're unlucky? I mean, nobody really has any actual evidence except anecdotes. Not sure if it's fair to assume anything regarding the overall trends.

Yeah, I probably am just unlucky.
I worded that in a neutral way because I'm not sure if it's overall more common or less common to have no history of being kicked.
Either way, he is luckier than some people such as me, whether he is exceptionally lucky or I am exceptionally unlucky. That much is definitely true.
Wrongful kicks definitely do happen more often to some than to others. I've actually witnessed it happen to others more than to myself even.
You forget to mention that people have a tendency to exagerate to try and prove a point also. Or at best, only one side of the story. None will admit they are wrong and prefer to play the victim to garner support Never been kicked from a dungeon, none I know have been either. That's with DFing solo a helluva lot since launch.
If one persons being a jerk to you, it's on them. If everyones being a jerk it's on you.
I'll share some non exaggerated experiences then:
In one run, a CNJ was provoking mobs off me and pulling massive groups of mobs. I complained, they used me to get to the last boss, then kicked me and completed the dungeon without me.
In another run (Praetorium), a newbie got lost for less than a minute and got kicked.
In another run, 2 dps accidentally queued for the wrong dungeon. I joined in progress, them and the healer who was there to do a book dungeon were arguing. He refused to vote abandon because he needed it to be completed, they kicked him.
These are my experiences, believe them or not. They are not exaggerated, but does it change my point? No. I also have no reason to only share "one side of the story" for people I do not even know, as I am a third party in these cases.
Yours may be different, but consider yourself lucky and be thankful. You haven't had to endure the foolishness of this community in this regard like I have. Seeing any of these people or myself slapped with a penalty right after being kicked for BS reasons would be extremely frustrating and wrong.
I don't even know what to say to this. The majority is always right I guess? Guess that explains why so many times in history, the majority has been justified in its less than civil treatment of the minority. Or why peer pressure is always a good thing. Mob mentality is a real thing you know, and it isn't exactly uncommon.
I'm sorry to say it, but if you really believe that it's rare for someone being ganged up on by a lot of people to be in the right, you're quite naive. It may be less common than the alternative, but it is not exactly rare, especially for unlucky people. You don't even need personal experience to know this, it's happened all throughout human history and only takes a little thinking to come to logical conclusion that it's possible maybe the majority isn't always right all the time for some people.
Not to mention, vote kicks in FFXIV have a bias towards Yes since the person initiating the kick gets a vote, and the person being kicked does not.
And are you saying that you've never been the victim of abuse from a group of people? You are VERY lucky if that's the case.
No way anyone should get a penalty for getting kicked often FCs will enter a WoD with 4 people and kick the other 4 for the lulz. I seen this happen several times. You can't penalized kicked people cause a lot of times it was a unjust kick.
30mins lockout for being booted out will actually clearly -increase- the abuse of the kick system!! >_> because those little kids and trolls thinks its "funny"
So NO THANKS(!!!) to a timed lockout.
Make it so you can only vote-kick once per 24 hours
