What doesn't mean, it must be directly at the start ;) It sounded more like its getting wider and wider the more you step forward in it.

Whatever the case is, I'm actually NOT looking forward to another gear treadmill. I really hope that they look at the expansion as an opportunity to expand sideways instead of merely upwards. With each new item almost indistinguishable from anything else of the same level, there's very little variety beyond 'getting a higher tier'. A far removal from many other games which have a distinct amount of variety in each tier.
And no, I don't merely mean fashion. I'm talking statistics. Whether you choose spell speed over crit or accuracy over skill speed, what real difference does it make at the end of the day? A few points of DPS here, a few points of healing there. We need real differences. FFXI had the right idea with its equipment, and they need to take a leaf out of its book.
Yay more tomestones for another 2 years or so.
Wtf. I swear it better not be a weekly cap thing.
TL;DR anything, so idk if this was said.
I'm willing to bet these ToL will be used to buy the new AF gear for level 60, don't know the ilvl on those. But They did say ToL are uncapped from the start for EA/3.0 and the ToE would be capped.
This. SE really needs to do something gear wise. Getting burnt out on having to get BiS only from two ends.
I'm almost certain this is what it really is.

Those rouges in that photo look like they could benefit from Tomestones of Erotics.
They might not understand the Philosophy; maybe they will think it all part of Mythology. But at the end of the day, their Soldiery can be very Poetic with a bit of an illusion...

Reason being because SE isn't pulling a Genkai like XI so everyone will have access to lv 60. Also because it is pointless to keep both. If this was the case, why change tomes in the first place when all they had to do is just remove items from the NPCs. This game has a lot of limitations because of character data being "overloaded" and the fact that SE can't apparently just increase storage. Let's say you are locked out of tomes, that doesn't stop a non-expansion player from gearing up to 60 from the MB or crafted gear.
There's no chance of players without Heavensward being able to level to 60.
There will be players that don't have the expansion right away, which certainly includes any new players because the expansion offers them nothing beyond Au'ra existing. So those players will still have to be able to buy things with tomestones at 50.
Rolling soldiery into poetics and uncapping poetics makes the most sense here. It eases the gear grind significantly for newer and transitioning players and keeps the player currency count where it is.
Definitely agree Lemuria. :)
I really hope Yoshi P looks at 3.0 as a chance to focus on the Breadth of (Variety) of Gear. Unique Stats, Meaningful Secondary Stats, etc.
We don't need a faster Vertical Progression. If we did, is Yoshi P trying to catch up to WoW and end up having to "Refactor" (squash) all Stats down after they got so inflated their Stats were comically too high?
I don't want to see Item Level 700(!!!) when we're only Level Capped at Level 60. Ugh.
Give people choices and creativity in their Gearing, not the boring Itemization we had in 2.0.
So technically its going to be the same gear progression as 2.0 but this time we are doing this in ishgard etc.
Wow i felt so uninclined to cap poetics due to the fact that we all were like gasp must cap tomes since we first unlocked tomes of philosophy.
-Philo tomes
-Myth tomes
-Sol tomes
-Poe tomes
-Erotic lol tomes
-Law tomes
It might turn out to be another ilvl zerg fest where at the end of day variation in gear won't do much.
