NP! I'm sure we will get more info hopefully after 1.19 or 1.20 since the major changes should be coming to a close at that point.

My problem with Gridania is that too often my attempts at leves are blocked by higher-level mobs that are difficult to sneak around in the narrow paths. It's just morre effective to do leves based in LL or Ul'dah ( and LL is more enjoyable because Thanalan is just an ugly ugly landscape ).

I make my base of operations in LL, as it's the region I am most comfortable with (leve-wise). Though for grinding I head out to Coerthas. I just hit R33 with Marauder so I'm thinking of giving Gridania a try for grinding. And Thanalon is so ugly looking... I hate it when I go there.

A few days before I left on vacation I decided to walk back to Ul'dah from the Darkhold via Mor Dhona. It was fun. I had to avoid a lot of scary stuff, and I met a level 99 Goblin along the way.

Wow can't believe the hatred for Thanalan in this thread. Thanalan has always been my favorite zone, and always felt it had the best tileset.

It's also funny to see the complete dismissal of players who want revamps by saying "they probably haven't seen past x area".

I enjoy LL UD and Grid all the same really, LL is my hometown, but I usually do leves in UL'Dah when I'm in a hurry. When I want to enjoy my gameplay and just relax and do a few leves, then I'll go to grid.. or maybe LL

It deters a lot of people from Ul'dah because...

It's not their favorite landscape.
Not their hometown.
They can't sucessfully sell things outside of Ul'dah.
No party /shouts or /say.
No people outside of Ul'dah.

When you add all those things up.. it sucks.

I spend most of my time around Limsa and Gridania. I do Cul and fishing leves in Limsa, botany/mining and combat leves in Gridania. I only go to Thanalan if I absolutely have to - it's by far my least favorite region in the game.
