But SCH has unlimited MP http://i.imgur.com/IdqrJav.gif
I've played both classes in end game content and each has their specific role. I love teaming up with a WHM and vice versa when I'm a WHM. SCH really does excel at mitigating damage and during a raid my goal is to shield and prevent as much damage as possible, debuffing and stacking DOTs the mob, while having the WHM focus on big heals on tanks as needed (Chrysalis - Triple). In anycase I love both WHM and SCH and look forward to playing AST and learning their new role as well.
I am "literally" rolling around on the floor laughing XD XD Best post I've read today.
I'm just going to state the obvious here... Never once have I heard anything like this being said, and I played Scholar for about a month before I missed Holy spam. I'm guessing there was a conflict of personalities and things were said. If you are hearing this a lot, then I'm guessing you are getting into a lot of conflicts.
Didn't mean the skill of players specifically. I meant that White Mage being Job being as good as Scholar Job. I created a thread about "White Mage Lacking compared to scholar" and people thought I was just hatin on White Mage when I have just played both jobs and found Scholar better in a lot more situations. That's why I made that comment.
Fixed! I prefer WHM to SCH for almost every situation except sub 45 roulette. When Eos is my healer. I prefer WHM for EX/High Level roulette and 45+ dungeons. My preferred party layout is Warrior, Blm, Blm, Whm for all dungeons that are 50+. When I run most raids I prefer a WHM and a SCH for the ability to heal and shield. As a tank I have died with SCH and WHM healers alike. It is all based upon skill and the preference of the player. Just because it is your preference doesn't make one inferior to another.
I think the fact that there can be such controversy over the issue is testament to how well the dev team balanced the two Jobs.
SCH rewards not only planning and anticipation, but good "twitch" ability and micromanagement skills. WHM can feel like a slower and more methodical Job by comparison, and I think it gets thrown undue shade from people who don't appreciate how important that strong healing backbone is to most full end-game parties. As for lower level duties, SCH for boss fights, WHM for trash-compacting. Gotta love Holy.
SCH is a fancy multi-tasker, which is part of why I prefer to play it overall, but it's hardly the master Job, and I don't understand why people keep trying to put down WHMs.
That's what I mean too. I am equally proficient at using both tool kits, and can achieve the goals I want with both. The implementation will be different due to the available tools.
I know, I've seen it, didn't really comment on it, but I disagree that White Mage is as lacking as you claim it to be. While I do believe SCH has an edge on WHM, the difference isn't so wide to start abandoning the WHM ship.
Funny enough, this thread is about how someone on SCH is being told that SCH sucks and they should main WHM (also, lol?). Both healers are equally as capable, with different pros and cons. WHM has an edge on 4-man dungeon speed pulls just on the power of Holy alone. However, since most players compare classes/jobs/roles at the highest skill level (raiding), that pushes SCH slightly ahead as it does offer more diversity versus WHM usefulness during massive trash pulls (which is non-existent in raiding).
And with that being said, every time you see a super overpowered SCH doing their thing, there's very likely a super overpowered WHM right behind that SCH allowing that SCH to shine in the spot light. Where do you think that SCH would be without that WHM? At the heart of the it, the pair have a very symbiotic relationship. Let's hope the introduction of a third class doesn't disrupt that relationship too much.
Not into raiding stuff yet, but both my Scholar and White Mage have just arrived at level 50. For me personally I prefer to heal as White Mage. But so far I have managed as Scholar as well. Both can get the job done just fine. It's all about personal preference which one you prefer. They just do it differently.
