Is the Physical CE a SE store exclusive?

Well it does come with a Fantasia potion, 10$ worth if you intend to change to an Au Ra there is that.

As of right now Amazon and Gamestop don't have any indication of offering a CE version on their sites. It's just the basic version. Might change after tomorrow though.

Best Buy has pre orders up but only for standard. Not sure if they will be getting any CEs.

So.. if it's not exclusive to the SE Store, then why are Amazon, Newegg, Gamestop, Walmart, and the various other retailers having no information regarding the CE pre-orders? I'm going to be totally annoyed (just like I was with the way Fanfest tickets were handled) if I lose out because SE's playing cards too close to their chest.

I'd rather order locally.
I'd rather pay up front so it's done with and I don't have to worry about it.
I'd rather not have to pay for shipping.
I'd rather be able to pick it up in person day of.

The lack of information on anywhere BUT the SE store is astounding. If you're going to play the "Limited Quantity" card, then I want to know where, when, and preferably some way that doesn't make me have to miss out because pre-orders start while I'm at work.

They mentioned Gamestop and Best Buy in their post for physical stores yet I see both of them only have the standard edition. Maybe they will put the CE up tomorrow but they already put the SE in their sites and with the correct release date of 6/23. They should have a CE option but yea it isn't up. Check tomorrow maybe but I don't know if they will be getting it.

I wish SE would have a post of what physical stores they are shipping some of the CE too like they done in the past so I know where to look out for.

Ya but i can just get the Download CE version and get the fantasia so once again we paying 50$ more for the dragon. But i guess that ok for people who want to pay that much for it. If it had a token and more stuff but for 3 item is just not enough for the 50$ for me.

Does anyone have a clue how many pages the artbook with the CE will be? The pre Heavensward one is over 300 pages... The one shown in the unboxing video looks like it's barely even 30.

Just checked the art book that came with the 2.0 CE and it is 80 pages hardback. If I'd bought it separately I'd have expected it to be £10 at the extreme upper limit and more like £7.

Think I'm possibly just gonna wait then... I collect art books in some form or another.

US CE $130 = £87.95, UK CE £130 = $192.15 so paying £42.05 more... what is this shit?

Silly! The $50 charge isn't for the dragon toy! It's the OCD tax for players that simply MUST have the "perfect" version of the expansion. Seriously, for the CE they could have made it identical to the regular, but with a greasy black banana peel added with the word "SUCKER!" stamped on it (all this told to the customers in advance) and plenty of players would STILL line up for miles to pay extra for it.

Just checked Gamestop this morning. They have no indication of CEs being sold by them.

Checked Walmart and BestBuy as well. No dice.

This is obnoxious. The question "Where can I pre-order this" should not be one I have to fight over.

So. I just left the Gamestop across the street and they had NO IDEA if they were getting Physical CE boxes or not. Now, I don't know if we are supposed to WAIT for a yay or nay at 2 PM EST but, that does not bode well. If they were like, "Yeah we are but, we can't place your order until 2." I would have waited. but with the advent of JP orders selling out in 1 hour AND the crash of EU store orders, I'm not taking that chance. Someone at SE dropped the ball on this.

Yeah, I've been checking NA GameStop too. I called my local store earlier and talked to a guy, basically he said it wasn't in their system and to see if it gets updated tomorrow..... I don't want to wait for tomorrow if it's a limited quantity item. :/

I just called Best Buy. They also said it's not in their systems to pre -order. Lady told me the company is wait for SE to give them the ok to put it up for order. So..it may just take a bit longer for it to pop on those retailers.

Not surprising really. They get a larger cut if we buy directly from them. They'll open the floodgates when most of the dedicated fans have already pre-ordered from them.

Kinda interesting how this is worded. This seems to imply that the SE has unlimited quantity. Does this mean everyone who tries to purchase through SE is guaranteed to get a physical copy of the collectors ed? Right now trying to buy off the SE online store is just as much a nightmare as when Digital River was their online partner. SE has picked some sketchy affiliates with click-and-buy and digital river. I really hope that by forcing the consumer to do buy directly from SE promises us the physical CE, because honestly I'd rather give my business to Best Buy, Amazon or GameStop. If the SE site is going to sell out, I'll take my chances with other retailers.

theoretically, SE should have unlimited quantity because they should be able to make more physical CE with the more people that place the order for it. I have the pc CE in my cart right now but the checkout won't load, neither will the account settings on the store.

So pretty much I was trying to confirm that there is no rush. Obviously there's a lot of site traffic that's reminiscent of trying to get into comic-con but those badges are very limited and high demand. But if buying through SE directly means that I can at any time place my order, rather being first-in-line on a digital storefront, people can just do this later. After nearly two hours of trying though, I finally got through all the site traffic. Two CEs and two early access codes ready to go. This is a step up from the previous affiliate, but damn it all if I didn't get the same blasted invalid login errors Digital River gave me. At least it didn't invalidate my email like before, requiring me to input 3 emails before I completely gave up.

Anyone anywhere have any news on NA stores ie Best Buy/Gamestop starting their preorders for the physical Heavnsward CE yet?

At this moment, ARR/2.0 CE is still available at list price from the Square Enix store.

Amazon, however, seems to have finally sold out of their legitimate stock, so now it's being sold at ridiculous markup (200% or more? not worth it even with "free" shipping!) by the usual scalpers and scammers that infest Amazon. I guess some people buy cheap NPC shop goods for absurd prices on the market board, so maybe it's ignorance, or money laundering... Fortunately they do warn you that 1.0 is not actually playable (not in the sense of having problems with gameplay or performance, but rather in the sense that 1.0 has been shut down and replaced by ARR, though the codes might still work for ARR, which is nice!!)

It's possible that 3.0 will be much worse than 1.0 and 2.0 CE in terms of availability and scammers trying to cash in, but hopefully not!

In other good news, the Mac version (download only?) seems to be available for pre-order now!! :D

I did indeed order my CE for PC from the online se store...with a heafty 2 day delivery charge to Canada arghhh) lol....BUT I also had ordered one regular physical version of the game from Amazon.com for PC.

As for an early access code for the regular version from Amazon...this is the email reply I received from them when I wrote to them: :mad:

That's the bundle with ARR+Heavensward which I don't think ever had a collector's edition version, standard expansion only would be www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00UUYVMHQ for £27 which compared to the US www.amazon.com/dp/B00OM6SAK0/ $39.96, is actually a dime cheaper according to the exchange rates on google I'm sure that makes up for the £40 difference for the CE.

The same thing happend with the Realm reborn CE it took a few days for them to actually get them up there.

Gamestop stores here in the US do have the CE available. You just have to ask the person at the counter to check their online ordering from in-store or whatever it is.
