Heavensward CE preorders not being released in AUS???

The thing is Arielyanna I spoke with the person who does that job in a GameStop warehouse (I was good working friends with that person when I was a store manager for that company); they said nothing was slated...so basically SE Store Online.

I'll concede that point... however in the past we have sometimes received titles released here BEFORE NTSC territories and we have received quite a lot of CE of many other titles in the past. I have a feeling that even if a forum mod or rep from SE themselves were to respond, the official info would be that 'preorders will start on the 16th of March'.I'll agree also that yes it is frustrating not knowing, but until the official date has released (personally, I'd wait til the 18th before contacting EB Games/JB HiFi/etc... give them sometime to update their systems), just be patient and wait.

I'm friends with 3 store managers as well as the state manager for EB Games in my state and they can not take preorders for any title, until head office has put the relevant information for the title in their system. I admit, while they are taking preorders for Mass Effect 4 now (with a release date of 30/12/2016 and a RRP of $9,999,99) and not for Heavensward is weird, but hey... that's the way the company does things. Thing is, how can stores like EB Games/Gamestop/JB HiFi and the like, take preorders for something if it's not in their systems yet? They can't, they have to wait for the companies to inform their head office with the info, so they can update their systems and then start taking preorders.

Officially, we won't get anything concrete infowise, until the 16th... and like I said to Mayoyama, wait until the official date SE has stated for preorders to commence, then contact your store of choice (again, I'd wait for the 18th, to be sure that the systems have been updated) and ask if Heavensward is in their systems and be available for preorder.

The thing is most stores have not had any SE CE's since ARR because SE has choose to do them exclusively on their own online store, many calls to stores have came up with they aren't getting the CE. Which leads most people to believe the CE will be SE store only just like the last 5 or so games they have released.

Arielyanna, not to be pessimistic here, but the person I talked to is the person who is in charge of adding those items to the inventory so STORES can start taking reserves on them. Based on my standing friendship and that person's knowledge/foresight on inventory quantities. She would already know by now (less than a week) what amount of CE they would be getting if any so they can begin to plug in the quantities for the stores to reserve from (this process is usually done a week in advance and implemented/updated on the date in which the developer wants it to be reserve-able).

The fact this this person said there was nothing noted, leaves me to believe that it will be a SE Store Exclusive...and that GameStop and their umbrella companies (EB games, Game Crazy, etc etc) will not be receiving this item.

If SE is taking every one of those orders they are going to be jam packed and probably end up crashing the website due to traffic.

This is going to be a royal cluster- you-know-what.

Which means that CE's will be exclusive to Japan, the US, Canada (I think) and a random European country (France, Sweden, Germany or something. Even the UK misses out). Though that's if the CE is SE Online Store only.

Yet the Final Fantasy Type 0 Collector's Edition is being released here... I'm picking my preorder up next Thursday from EB Games. So if that CE is being released (which EB Games hasn't told customers that they aren't getting in), why wouldn't the Heavensward CE be released?

Most companies release info for when preorders can be commenced for products, and that info is released to them at the discretion of the Game Company themselves. Almost everyone in this entire thread has been extremely pessimistic and negative in that because stores aren't taking preorders for Heavensward, that we aren't getting the physical copy. There is no evidence stating that SE is not releasing them. All we have been told is that preorders for Heavensward will be able to commence from the 16th onwards. That's all. Nowhere in the statement released by SE does it say that they will not release the CE in Australia or New Zealand etc.

Once again... instead of jumping the gun and being negative and flame SE... just be patient and wait. There is nothing to confirm or deny that the Heavensward CE will not be coming to Australia. Almost everyone in this thread is going overboard here and giving the stores nor SE time to put the information through so that preorders can commence. Talk about being impatient... sheesh

EDIT : I'm not saying your friend is incorrect or anything either. Just to be patient and wait til the date specified has come and THEN make the judgment call.

I see they have a CE/preorder information live letter this weekend... hoping this will clarify things a little

I don’t think people really understand the complications of releasing or marketing something on a global scale.

I work in marketing and when ever we come up with something we always have to stop and think “Oh, will this work in that country?” and talk to our lawyers first and then find out we can’t because it will offend some guy who lives in a shack down by the river.

Saying that it's not coming to Australia/New Zealand due to your source saying that they have no info on their system regarding Heavensward, and then we get word from a Mod saying that there will be 'Equal Opportunity' for everyone to get it... I think you are the one being over pessimistic in this situation, you are assuming that anyone who says anything other than "Everyone who wants a CE is getting the CE and it's gonna be at all retailers!" is saying that "No one is ever getting the CE because SE Online Store hates you!" That's clearly not the case, however most people are basing their outlook on TRENDS within Square-Enix's way of dealing with Collector's Editions. If this is the only SE game you play on the regular then you might not be the best informed, as the past 7 or so CE have in fact without a shadow of a doubt been SE Online Store Exclusive (this is not an opinion, again this is fact), and it wouldn't be surprising if it continued on this trend. Now if you are further unaware the SE Online Store just underwent a massive rehaul, in both distributor as well as design (and it was for the better). Who knows maybe Aus/NZ can end up getting it from the Online Store, maybe they have an exclusive partnership with another AUS/NZ Online Store who will distribute it, who knows.

People are not being overly pessimistic, they are being realistic. And there is a big difference, learn it.

Just because your 'friend' says that there's no information yet, is NOT gospel. Nor that the past '7 or so CEs are online store only'. Now that a mod has intimated that there will be equal opportunity for it, now you say it may NOT come to Australia/New Zealand. You fail to understand that stores can not take preorders until the information is in their systems and that can only be done once the game company has released said info to retailers for this purpose. Is that too hard to understand?

For the record I play other titles, earlier Squaresoft ones at times so your saying that "If this is the only SE game you play on the regular" is misguided and misinformed. You don't know me, so please do not presume to judge me either. What of people who do not want to purchase from a online store, who rather get it at their local game store? They should be penalized for not getting online? SE is in the business of making money and with a online store, yeah they get revenue there... but also to increase their chances for more revenue, they'd be stupid not to release in local retail stores.

Heyo, I actually work for MightyApe (hopefully I don't get in trouble for saying this >.>) and I've already asked out product manager about this. We haven't got confirmation just yet if we can get it, but I've definitely got my fingers crossed.

That said, I am pretty hopeful that we'll get it, since we got the previous one. I'm just glad that SE hasn't forgotten us NZ and Australian folk!

I feel like we will get the Digital Download Collectors, but am doubtful atm about the physical one. But I still have hope

Does anyone have a idea about which retailers in AUS would be stocking FFXIV heavensward CE have square enix stated whom will be stocking it etc.

Hopefully we get the physical CEs.
Would be nice if you guys could sell the time cards as well.

Small update;

We're just awaiting a response from our suppliers regarding this, but it's definitely looking hopeful.

Also, this is good news for both Australia and New Zealand since we share a region, and we ship to both regions :P

I'll post asap in here if we do get it available.
