My standard combos are all on the right trigger with huton also ending via right trigger, this gives me alot more fluid transition back into my combos
are you aware of the additional hot bars you can create via the hold downing of both l2 + r2?
these i save for my 3min cds and poisons
Wait, there are people who didn't jump on the secondary cross hotbar like it was the greatest thing since the cross hotbar itself? It should be standard equipment for everyone using a pad. That and L1/R1 targeting.
On the subject of Mudras, I have them all mapped to the D-Pad on my secondary bar (Ten up, Chi down, Jin as both left and right), with the Ninjutsu skill itself as "up" on my primary bar, for easy Fumas/Futons.
I sometimes have to use the Monster Hunter Portable "claw" grip to dodge and Mudra at the same time, but that's a natural motion for me at this point.
It's so weird to never see a lolmnk considering their constant positioning...Hm...I guess they have more awareness because of it.
Never had a bad MNK.
What? I can't see your TP to Goad you.This thread is like mad pointless because everyone just zergs everything and even in WoD you got people still trying to zerg it. Mechanics over DPS priority in my book. No one should be needing Goad in WoD. >_>;
And please, do not goad WHM, tyvm...
I have to say, I think some people seem to forget, we can't see other players tp bars. Unless there is a setting for that? We see hp and mp, but tp is all invisible. Although I main sch so I don't have to worry about it myself, when I think about it, it would be smarter, and easier, for a call our for goad(which I have seen a few times) I mean
it's a long cool down... Would you want them trying to guess your tp and popping it when your fairly full? Or wait for you to actually need it and call it out so you get full use out of it?
Dear Ninjas,
Please pass your Chuunin Exams so you can all eventually work your way up to becoming Hokage.
WoW this place is really toxic.

Please don't stay here, it's dangerous !
Dear everyone else who puts down classes based on a few they've seen,
Shut. Up. kthnxbai.
I do ^_^.
Seen some terribad MNKs. Then again seen some terribad *insert any job here* also :D
I also, when on SCH alt, seem to end up healing NIN more from avoidable AE damage than anyother, they have the fastest passive movement speed and still fail to dodge so much! *boggles*
Funniest I've seen was a BLM in WP HM, fire 3>blizz 3> Fire 3 > Blizz 3 in every single fight. BRDs in ilvl about 120 never going above 190 DPS in AK HM. SCH not using a fairy at all and never dropping out of clerics stance (3 wipes on first pull). They totally ignore any friendly advice given.
Eh, I've tried it a few times and it's not that great. It sounds like a good idea but the clouds die pretty quickly and randomly spawn, so you'd have to just get lucky that more than one even travels through it wherever you place it. Better to just quick nuke them with Raiton in my exprience. As for slowing them down, if people would quit hitting the clouds from the back and stand in front of them instead, that would work better.
Personally I use myself as a gauge for TP use. If I feel like I am in a situation where TP usage is heavy, I'll pass off Goad to another melee DPS. If it's a long fight or a large pull, I'll Goad the Warrior. It's situational, but I don't see why anyone would not use it at all just because they can't see TP. Anything is better than nothing.
It does kinda bug me to get Goad requests when there are 2 Bards in the party though....
NIN goad always takes priority over BRD peoen. The reason for this being that your goad doesn't drop your DPS by 20%
The most ideal way to goad? Open on Melee #1 a few seconds after the fight starts, then do #2 once the cool down is up. This way, Goad I s basically extending both of them.
Judging from the first post, the point was to remind NIN to "use everything you have, stop holding back and making the fights harder than they need to be," something every DPS should take to heart, since you see bads of every kind.
No, seems to be more of a "get better and master your rotation" type of thread.
People think we know well their TP, think we can rely on what their are doing to see their TP Issues, the only way for us to know their TP is based on our own and it's not really an exact science, that is why most of time a ninja goad... another ninja, it's a way to told them "hey i'm running out of tp so do you, i give you goad, give me yours !" and it work perfectly, nearly all the time.
i usually use it on war too when he's doing big pull, or on a recently raised target.
other than that, if you dont ask, you dont get, unless i'm running myself out of tp or we set it before the run.
Thinking like this is why parties have a hard time in Coil and EX Primals. Thinking like this is also what leads to aggravation from the rest of the party. If you're not pulling out a full rotation, not only are you making everything harder on the tank and healers, you're also making the other DPS have to push even harder.
but i like the bunny jutsu
As long as they are enjoying the game good for them. I'm honestly a middle man. I will play my job to the maximum of my ability(95% of the time) but I will not berate/harass/belittle other players for doing their own thing. This is a game after all and it's meant to be played to have fun. Not to stress out over "oh man I'm not doing this perfectly I must be a disappointment to the entire world I think I should just kill myself from everyone hating on me"
See in that regard, yes I agree with. What I don't agree with is people expect me to push out very high damage output. This causes people to think damage is the priority and not the mechanic. People that don't do the mechanics right, yeah that would piss anyone off. Only in DPS checks, yeah go nuts but that's the issue I see a lot. Some people expect too much from a player.
Nah lol, If you ask for it, I'll give it. I don't goad those who demand it. Please and Thank you go a long way.
Well then I'm gonna start to not agree with people who expect me to hold aggro, which should be my job as TANK.
Though I understand this game is about fun, but every role in this game has it's certain Job. Tank tanks, DPS dps's and healer heals, simple as that. If you aren't good at doing your job, don't get surprised if people call you out on it, and "I play how I want bruh" is a lazy excuse.
Nope, I've never been called out. I have a nice rotation pattern that works for me. I know how to do the fights Im doing cuz I want it done.
Well I don't have the patience to do my relic since its just gets more and more dumb. I don't like coils at all because its more of a chore to get done then being fun. If I get to Final Coil, cool. Do I care for the loot? Nope, I just want a clear and move on.
I've seen a lot of BRDs just DPS and don't do support. Do they deserve Disembowel? Not if they aren't gonna use their songs. That 20% damage is not the end of the world. I've tried DRG and that class just doesn't work for me. It's to work together and not care only about yourself.
If they are causing the other 3/7 in the party to not enjoy the game because of that attitude. Then there's a problem. If I found fun (I don't) in intentionally wiping parties, I'd be enjoying the game. Or I was a healer that never droppde out of clerics and never healed, or a tank that never took aggro I could be playing in a way I find enjoyable. Sucks for the other 3/7 players tho :P
A DPS is doing just that be performing under the minimum needed for content, any job is. I play as I want with a like minded party (eg running dungeons with crazy setups) or in single player games where my actions don't affect others.
Disclaimer: I don't play to those examples, they are just examples.
I don't know what Wod's you get into but when I get into mine, there's usually at least 4 dps missing at any given time between the alliances because people got the loot they wanted and left or they couldn't take the usual sea of trolls the CT's have to offer and then there's the usual "Ain't nobody got time for all our parties to refill between pulls even if one of their heals are missing and they need to MT Cerberus." So the fights might drag out longer than usual and the leftover melee *can* run dry trying to meet the requirements (specifically that dragon that casts the raid wide aoe wipe if you don't kill all of the heads off in time). Next time I will be sure to elaborate more in my posts =) and yeah, I agree. A TP bar would be wonderful. Wars and melee could really use it to help look out for each other when they can.
Yeah this whole discussion is why I stay put in Japanese server with english speaker free company... The amount of dramarama, rude behavior, the idiotic "i play how i want - stop telling me what to do - even if i completely suck at it and run around like a total idiot and have no clue on how the mechanic works - and utterly clueless on what my combo and rotation should be" - pretty much everything you would expect from the worst players. And this amount of trolling happens always half the time whenever I use duty finder... I think SE is getting rich from all those transfer fee.
When I'm playing my Ninja (or Bard), I always wish that I could see the TP of tanks & melee DPS. Otherwise, I just have to take a guess and hope I used Goad when it was most needed. I don't mind if people ask for a Goad, demanding on the other hand...
"You never Goaded me, so I'm not giving you my comm." - this one WAR tank I had. Actually outright said it at the end of a run. Even though he did noting but Butcher's Block combo and Overpower the entire time, meaning I was keeping up Dancing Edge on bosses for his wonderful tank DPS.
People can make whatever demands they want, but you don't have to listen. Especially if they won't play their own Job correctly.
Which I agree with mostly.. However, people seem to forget that Goad is also single target and has a cooldown. If you have a group with a majority of TP users, Goad has limited effectivess in comparison to a BRD who can buff everyone.
Also, with the cooldown, just because you're asking for Goad doesn't mean it is available.
I definitely don't see any reason to be lazy with Goad though. It's instant, just use it. The blind TP issue isn't really an issue because NIN is a TP using DPS so you should be able to roughly gauge what situations are resource intensive. You shouldn't be waiting until someone actually runs out of TP and screams for it. It'a a gradual replenishment.
