I just realized that Biggs and Wedge are also the names of two pilots in Star Wars.. How the heck did I never notice it until now.

They are all great. And even though someone mentioned they feel out of place in a FF game. Thing is... they are there for our benefit not the lore/story aspect of it other than a basic placeholder instead of "Quest 001".

The new Odin quest, Fear and Odin in the Shroud , looks like a reference to the movie Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

In southern thanaland there is a fate named "Blood, Augur, Hex, Magicks" a reference to a pretty old Red Hot Chili Peppers album.

To add a few....I remember the "Iron Contra Affair" FATE in western La Nocea, obvious reference to the real life incident and the "Chill is Coming" FATE in Coerthas which is a pun to House Stark motto in the ASoIaF series...

Before that, Biggs and Wedge were in FF6...and before that, Star Wars. It *is* a Star Wars reference that has made multiple Final Fantasy appearances.

The Scenario Quest: "Let us cling together" I think is a reference to the SNES game "Tactics Ogre: Let us cling together" back in '94 by Quest (Later acquired by S-E). It was the precursor to FF Tactics games.

"Fear and Odin in the Shroud" must be a reference to the book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson.

Karlybos is from FFV, same attack and all.

I'm kinda sad that two users missed the Queen reference. Let Us Cling Together may be referring to Tactics Ogre, but Tactics Ogre is itself referring to the band Queen. It's been confirmed that the director of the series named the games after Queen songs/lyrics. Their song Teo Torriate has a lyric that is "let us cling together." Queen also had a song called Ogre Battle. Granted, these are older Queen songs from their earlier progressive rock days.
