Hopefully I can finally over throw Monks for top DPS, tell Kiyo I said hai hai.

SMN - 428 for me this week. i115 + nexus
Sphairai Nexus (31crit, 30det, 15acc), Dreadwyrm head piece, ironworks body (i120), High Allgan striking gloves, Dreadwyrm sash, ironworks pants (i120), gloam boots, High Allagan ears neck and ring, ironworks ring (i120), shiva bracer.
I goad him when Kaliya is at like 62ish% before the adds pop, then my 2nd goad goes to our bard. During tethers in the final phase I move for the seeds, while he stays on the flank/rear for his positionals. Aside from when nerve gas causes Kaliya to spin around a lot he definitely can get off his positionals a majority of the time I would think.
465 on t11 as nin, lb3 and lb1. i113 (2 poetics acces and shiva bracelet)
jealous of monks
so glad I'm not the only one having problems with agro during t11 add phase as blm D:
though our tank does unchained+berzerk in addition to my quelling strikes I have to switch to the group's add alot, and that's just with ilvl120 weapon... it's getting even worse when I get my 130 upgrade this week (and hopefully getting some caster drops despite of the ring..) >_<
It's so annoying to me that a lot of DPS is dependent on Foe and if it's voiced or not. It just really upsets me that it's really out of my control. Of course you must also be a very skilled BLM to pull that off, but I get one foes at the start without voice or anything.
Hi.
That's nice to give 500+ dps values from guys with i135 weapons, but I do not think this is what the OP wanted to. If I understand well, he just asked what is a good dps value to down T11.
We did our first T11 down with my full static recently, the four dps (2 Nin, 1 Blm, me as a Brd) were all ~i112-113 with i115 weapon.
Here are our dps:
Brd: 370
Blm: 390
Nin 1: 410
Nin 2: 430
Tanks were around 200 as far as I remember.
SCH did also a bit of dps with DoTs.
So we are really far from these 500+ I read before, but that was enough to clear.
You could say a Monk DPS is dependant on Goad or TP song also. It's about building a team that sync well and MNK/NIN/BRD/BLM offers a lot for a BLM.
Also, I first clear with 115 weapon I was at 439 and I was still figuring out how to slip my spell and not lose spells.
The thing is though, when the MNK runs out of MP he always gets a goat now or paeon because the BRD in my guild runs out of TP. At my first clear with ilvl 115 I was around 400. It's quite unfriendly for me though. I can't stand near the boss at last phase when missiles hit so I can't hit it for a bit. And I only get one unvoiced Foes. I'm pretty sure if I would have 420 at least. Don't think I can reach your level though, at least not right now. What's the reason for you using only thunder I by the way? Just swifter casts?
Just hit 490 yesterday with I115 weapon as BLM :D Crit hit throughout the fight was 29% though. Can't wait to see next week now that I have gotten my I130 weapon.
Two battle voiced foes, Selene and Trick Attack <3
Crazy BLM damage. Jelly
Hi, maybe this is not the right place to ask this but seeing the deeps of those BLMs I feel obliged to do so. Our BLM is doing poor dps in t10, he's not even doing over 400. I know his deeps is enough for the first turns and we can carry him but I don't think that can happen in t13. He would love to improve but he don't really know how to do it. I'd love to hear tips from you guys, any kind of advice is welcome.
Yeah, if he is i110 he sould at least do 600 dps on t10, tell him to get it together
/endsarcasm
You seem very "offensive" regarding your blm. You seem to have just started out so i assume he has close to i110 gear, and you are still learning the fight. You are not "carrying him" if he doesn't do 450 dps. If he is around 380, that's what i would expect from him in those conditions if he is good. Of course more intimate knowledge of the fight and more confidence will allow him to increase that. But for now, if he is not doing 340 dps or something, i don't see why you get so worked up and offensive towards him.
The monk in our group is slowly improving, he did 412 in t11 and just over 400 in 10. This is much better considering he was in the low 380s before. Turns out he wasn't using ToD properly and as letting it fall off and not using it very much. I feel confident with more practice he'll rise to the job's true potential. I did kinda bad in 10 today tho at like 418 but then picked it back up with 450 in 11. I went into 10 today half asleep. Don't ever nap before a raid and then go in sleepy. Or BLM did around 405 in 10 and 433 in 11. Bard was at like 370 - 380ish in both turns.
I'm going to need information on your parsing parameters. 400 DPS is good depending on what it's set at. I'm the top DPS in our group with 412 and we beat enrage handily but our parse is also set up to count the whole time. There's no 6 second or 30 second delays or anything. If you are parsing with a delay then maybe that 400 isn't "great" but it's probably still not terrible.
At i111 with the Diamond Grimore, I was nowhere near that. I see not many groups in this thread are running SMN for raid, but for those who do, any pointers? I had to swap from a 116 WHM that's been my main for over nine months to SMN because of raid derpery, so try not to be TOO harsh on me, but I only did 340 on this week's clear, with me dying at like 1% (tether partner ran over the other group and got two stacks right before Nerve Cloud QQ).
I ended the fight with a sizeable portion of mana (over 2k?), so I'm thinking I might have hedged on my Shadow Flares too much trying to save MP. Even then, no way in heck is that a ~90 DPS difference. We cleared with a little under 45 seconds to enrage, so my group assures me that I've got time to get better, but I don't like feeling carried.
So, any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Edit with some additional points:
-we don't usually run a BRD for raid, though we did this week because our MT was missing and people swapped around (so usually no Foe's, no Ballad)
-our BLM MT'd this week and he is normally on the non-magic-resisting add so my numbers are actually usually worse lmao
-I didn't have to Egi-swap because I was on the cube, and yes Garuda was in range of boss during final phase, so that shouldn't be the reason why my numbers were bad
Parsing Summoners is odd anyways, because it is just an estimation model, but no real data about dots is parseable. So in a specific try the parse and the reality can widely differ (in dependence on how much crits you got). If your group doesn't understand this problem, well...
Our 2 SMN parse 375 +- 15; I'm ok with that, we kill the boss, that is what counts.
As a smn, I do around 380-400 dps with i115 weapon and I was ilvl 111-113. This week I got 411 dps with i120 weapon. I'm mostly targeting the sphere though cause blm is on cube... :(
Hopefully, next week I can get higher with the i130 weapon I got.
Mnk - 486 for me this week for T11, i113 + glove,leg,boot pentameld + i120 weapon
I see tons of posts in this thread that give a misconception on what each class' dps should be. First off, without knowing any facts, even being a little under 400 dps in t10 is ok but these numbers also depend on a lot of factors. Which app are you using to measure (some tend to give inflated numbers from what I've seen)? Are your settings set for a raid encounter (i.e. won't split it up)? Do you have Foes (how many times, BV etc?)? Pots, food, gear?
i123 here. i started hitting over 400 at around i118. pretty far off from the 450+ that ppl online seem to be easily hitting at i110 with an i115 weapon but what can you do.
last run was 415ish.
other than making sure dots never fall off and SF is up as much as possible, dont forget to auto attack as much as possible. doing 65-110 dmg per hit adds up.
im pretty sure your dots, once cast, will stop doing dmg if you get out of melee range during the last phase so spread around the boss and not away from the boss during bombs.
when taking down the cube, cast dots on the egg and follow it around so they do dmg to it. i used to cast dots on the sphere as well just for extra dmg but i find it too mana intensive. by the time the cube and sphere are down, the egg can be brought down to 90-95% by dots alone.
340 is a tad low. for our first few clears as an i110smn with i115 weapon i was getting like 380, which isnt great.
Having no Foes will have a huge impact on your dps so, theres that for starters. Ill take a look at my parse and get back to you on (IDK if i swapped to ifrit that time) some details of how I prioritize buffs/pots etc.
Also, the +32 DET I get from nexus is pretty significant. Wouldn't be surprised if i can push 450 this week once i get Apocalypse
I don't think I can hug the egg during add phase, as our BLM already stands outside of the group to DPS the cube (I'm on sphere most runs, which actually makes my numbers worse lol >__>). We don't run a BRD, so having as many people as possible to soak Cannons helps our WHM not go OOM on the add phase by having to spam too many AOE heals. Also, as the poster above said, no BRD = no Foe's, so I know I'll never hit the numbers posted in this thread, but I need to do better in general. I WAS spreading to the back for Seed (two melee and a BLM usually means I'm the one disconnecting from the boss, along with our SCH), so if it's true that dots don't tick if you're out of range that might explain some of it. I'll try a different spread method this upcoming week to see if that helps.
At some point I'm gonna sit down on a dummy too and see how I do. I'll post the numbers back in this thread when I get around to it. I don't want to feel obligated to quit SMN just because I'm not very good at it... I really enjoy playing it. So hopefully with time and practice I'll improve.
also, i dont know how new you are to smn, but you can review the advanced summoner guide on youtube.
your group composition is definitely not doing you any favours in t11 but as long as you're getting the clear, its all good. having a black mage is great in t10, 12 and 13
So, I did two types of parse yesterday to try to see where I'm flagging. I did a full burst parse until I was OOM (about 4:45), and a 10-minute parse to simulate how I'd fare in an actual encounter. Both parses were with food, pots, and two bouts of Foe Requiem (first one always BV'd):
-1st parse, full burst for 4 min, 45 sec: 460 DPS
-2nd parse, 10-minute stress test: 405 DPS.
This is as a 113 SMN with the 115 book.
Any thoughts? (Sorry for thread highjack, BTW! ;__; )
I don't know if it makes sense that your dots stop hurting if you're out of range in T11 during the last phase. You already cast them and they are on the boss. Since the buff comes from the egg, I know when I'm dotting up the egg (I dot up the egg and the sphere), even if I walk out of range, I still see my dots ticking. So unless the buff changes from egg to boss, I don't think you have to worry. I'll probably test this the next time I'm in T11 to make sure because to me it doesn't make sense.
T11
Around 425 as SMN
BLM/MNK/BRD as others (War on Sphere for slashing debuff)
I RS Contagion the dots on Cube. Then SC Ifrit with Rouse/Spur on Sphere.
I only Miasma the egg for Heavy because it's a waste IMO for anything else due to its HP Regen. I use all my Aetherflow stacks on the Sphere to burn it down. Keep dots 100% on Cube.
For finishing the egg off I dot it, then R2 + AA till dead. I prefer to keep Ifrit out for the last phase cause he's easier to manage then and doesn't seem to get killed.
Our BLM handles cube, and he runs neck and neck with us on sphere it as it is. I don't think RSing a set of dots on it to inflate my numbers is worthwhile with our group comp, sadly. Does your BLM also do cube? Do you both swap onto sphere at some point? I imagine you focus sphere after applying dots on cube, but like I said, our BLM wrecks cube completely on his own, so my dots would force him to come to sphere near the end for no practical reason that I can see. He also handles the heavy on egg with Blizzard.
I might try Ifrit in the last phase, though Garuda is a lifesaver to me because of how much Contagion saves me on MP (no BRD). I wonder if the potency increase is worth maybe having to sub in some Energy Drain? We have a WAR for slash debuff too, but I thought it was the MNK move that boosted Ifrit? I'll pester some friends to help me test today.
Maybe it's as someone said, and my group comp is part of the reason? I think some of the numbers I'm seeing are probably with things like Foe's/Ballad, no other caster DPS in the raid, etc. There's probably a lot of gear discrepancy between other players and me as well, since I just swapped last week after spending all my Poetics on healer. I AM looking forward to seeing if I can get better in raid this week, though. I've been playing SMN near-exclusively since I made it my main, and trying to fix a few bad habits that I had.
I think Ifrit's auto-attacks are slashing whereas everything else is blunt. I use Ifrit on T11 and my highest parse so far has been 407 (that was when we downed it. We have a bard and he was doing his best to play foe's as much as he could since we run SMN+BLM) and unless I have to raise a lot, I don't ask for ballad for myself. So at 407, I have a lot to improve on still. During the add phase, Ifrit does help soak damage whereas Garuda will probably be too far out of range to do that (or if she's not... you're spamming heel so she's not attacking or she's getting hit with everything else and dies). If you are able to figure out your MP so you don't need to rely on contagion to conserve MP, then Ifrit will do better DPS overall.
As for wondering about if Ifrit's potency will make up for Garuda, you could probably test it on a dummy. Just figure out how much longer it takes to go OOM with Ifrit vs. Garuda and then try to put in some energy drains to make up for the time discrepancy and compare numbers.
Ifrit way out DPS Garuda on all the numbers I've checked, including the 3 Ruins you'd get from reapplying the dots. If you use Miasma II with Contagion and if you weave in Fester with Bio instead of Ruin II, I find that Ifrit has about the same 'mana issues' as Garuda.
My groups BLM does Sphere duty. Yes it is a DPS loss for them due to Magic Resist but our party dps is higher due to me going all out on DoTs.
With both Slash/Blunt resist Ifrit is doing something like 155 DPS to the Sphere and yes, soaking Cannons. VS Garuda @ 115DPS and not soaking.
So for me, RS Contagion on the Cube is a necessity to kill it fast enough while blowing all my Aether on the Sphere.
SMN - i122, Apocalypse - 450 this week. Raging + pot (optional poison) etc for opener. Raging should be up again for the cube, if not shortly after the phase starts. Swift ifrit after the cube dies (my group has a mnk and ninja). even had to raise someone and we had a few deaths in the last phase so its not unlikely to see 470+. Still FAR shy from the numbers i've seen BLMs post up though
Quick question. I see a lot of people saying that their DPS is this much or that much, with LB. Just confirming, ppl usually add the LB DPS on their own DPS? Since it's possible to separate it from my own on act, I have never put it together. Should I?
I ask this because I usually see ppl claiming to get higher numbers than I can on boss fights, and I am always looking to aim this numbers, but always ignoring the (melee, in my case) LB DPS value.
Casting LB might sometimes be a DPS loss take monk for example, the LB cast time is long enough that you risk your GL stacks falling off. Think that is what they mean.
But about DPS I'm a i114 bard with HA bow averaging 400-430 during T10-T11 (just starting on T12 so no information about that yet) then drop down to about 380-400 when singing songs, maybe lower depending on how lucky I am with BL resets.
I obviously start fight with Battle Voice+Foes Requiem then I sing 2-3 times a fight
T10: Paeon after every add phase starting to sing during electric burst, then battle voice+foes during when the last add dies during the 2nd add phase then switching to paeon after electric burst.
T11: Paeon at 67% then battle voice+foes during the egg, switching to paeon when egg dies then maybe a ballad during the last phase
