It'll be sadly ironic if breaking the ring will have a low chance to succeed -_-
[QUOTE=Erudain;2607318]Singles party at my house tonight, with booze, blackjack and hookers. In fact, forget the party![/QUOTE

My IRL wedding cost me about $50.
It was actually patch day too. We both started the day playing Syrcus Tower, and ended the day playing Tam-Tara Hard Mode. Needless to say, the events in TT HM was a little jarring considering I was wed only hours before.
Either way, can't wait to spend more time and devotion to an ingame marriage than the real one. My wife is pretty excited too.
So whats next after wedding.. children at 3.xx, that would be interesting..
Seriously?! That's how much it's going to cost?? Fuck that noise, I love my husband dearly and would love to be married to him in game since we are married irl, but I ain't dropping that kind of gil for it... I'll wait for the civil ceremony method that FFXI introduced years after their wedding system. Me, my husband and an NPC. Done. We got rings and a certificate to hang on the wall. I already had the "wedding" dress from before.
It's also speculated that the wedding dress and tuxedo will require a max-craft crafter and rare as hell materials. Hopefully this will not be the case.
great, first we turned homeless now we'll stay single
oh well haha xD casual content turns hardcore while endgame content turns into fluff
I'm so excited for this so I can marry...
No one and just go around killing things in a wedding dress that is "reasonably" obtainable like the best man's tux and the bridesmaid dress.
*ahem ahem, cough cough, wink wink, poke poke, nudge nudge, punch punch SE*
I'm just gonna leave this here... Fan Fest interview.
This interview was just conducted at the Vegas Fan Fest, so the information is fairly recent.Quote:
GE: Will there be any in-game fees for the ceremony?
Y: No, but you will need to craft a ring, so there could be market costs associated with that. Free Companies might make the rings as a wedding gift for example.
Also, for those concerned about having to craft the outfits. From the same interview:
Quote:
GE: You spoke briefly about the reservation system for the Eternal Bond ceremony. Will there be a faster system for people who don’t want a full ceremony? How will the system work?
Y: There will not be a faster system to avoid the reservation system, but the ceremony will not require GM support like what was needed in Final Fantasy XI. There will be a 2 hour window for each ceremony, which can be reserved by both players a week in advance. When the time comes, the people who received an invite will be taken to a waiting area, and the bride and groom will be taken to separate waiting areas where they can choose their costume, coloring and hairstyle. Then when both players accept then the ceremony starts. It is built to take promptly 2 hours. Once you have reserved the slot it is yours. The ceremonies are scheduled one week in advance, and they are planning on doing a weekly reset. It is reserved by talking to an NPC when the slots are opened up.

doh someone beat me ><
Did anyone catch the entire slides? Looking for the wedding hairdos.
I really hope you can wear them outside the ceremony too! :<
That of reserve it one week previously and having to choose between 2 hour slots seems like an annoying option especially in crowded servers, perhaps... Isn't there any fast way for those who doesn't want a ceremony?!... Like going to a court/tribunal and do it there in a few mins!
It was confirmed a while back that there would be no "fast lane" options. The Eternal Bond ceremony is designed around the quest and reservation system, so you have to use those unfortunately, even if you don't want to have to reserve the time.
So i guess 70% of ppl wanting to marry won't be able to as reserving will take a while lol...
1st come 1st serve with a reset on each weekly reset?
Worse than trying to buy a plot?
I can't say for 100% certainty on the reservation or lockout system, as we haven't been handed all the information on it yet. For all we know it could be handled in a reserved instance that more than one can be open during the two hour window you reserved, but only a certain number. So even if you have 6 other couples trying to get married at the same time, as long as all the instances aren't booked, you can all still get married. Or it might just be one couple per server per 2hrs. We don't really know. All we know is the ceremony is booked a week in advance, is reserved in-game when the window you applied for opens up by talking to an NPC, likely at the Sanctum of the Twelve, and the application is taken care of via the Mog Station. Most of that info was mentioned in the Gamer Escape interview I linked earlier, so it possibly has changed.
Granted, I also may not have seen all information out there yet either, so that's just my speculation and should be taken as such and not 100% fact
