    No, no, no...the obvious answer is the rings can only be broken at Mount Doom which is gated behind the brand new ultra-savage-combo breaker-coil of Bahamut

    You have to commission Gerlot, Master Blacksmith. to break the Indestructium ring at Mount Doom. This is also an escort raid through the Ultra-Savage-Combo-Breaker Coil of Bahamut, and failure will result in him moping about his life sustaining lethal injury, resulting him being finished....here.
