Everything is the "worst content in FFXIV" for somebody - that doesn't mean everything should become barely worth doing.

I'm fine with poetics staying out of hunts, but they should really give more Soldiery tomes. Nothing wrong with hunts being a great way to farm those tomes. As it is at the moment, only S feel worth going to.

The match may take 15 minutes, but the queue takes hours. I'd absolutely adore to PvP, but the insane queue times kill it for me completely.

Man, SE just can't win, can they? They add Hunts with great rewards, and everyone complains that there is no reason to do anything else, that they have to hunt, that too many people are hunting, and that hunts are boring. So, they release 2.4 where hunts still give rewards, but toned down. Now, I keep hearing people complain that not enough people are hunting and they have to do other things besides hunts.

Seriously guys, there are reasons why we can't have nice things. The reasons are that when we get what the vocal minority wants, another vocal minority surfaces to complain about it. No wonder SE rarely listens to the fanbase!

The huge issue was hunts gave way to much, now they give way to little considering the price requirements.

i90 gear was 20 allied seals, i100 gear is 400 allied seals...how does that even add up? 10 more ilvl and it shot up 380 seals?
Im not saying it should be 20 but dear gods SE seems to not now how to balance correctly when it comes to rewards and reward requirements.

Should A ranks be dropping sold and poetics like crazy...no, but I think the reward for A ranks should be at least doubled considering costs for obtaining items, S ranks I think should be doing like 100 sold and 50 poetics, they are S ranks afterall.

The great thing about hunts was that it was more community driven thus more interaction in a SOCIAL game, I was gone for over 6 months due to wanting to focus on college(yeah my choice) I came back to a friends list that looked horrid, after about 3 or 4 sessions of doing hunt stuff I had a healthy friends list again and did stuff with these new friends all in different fc's outside of hunts as well.
It was casual friendly and I fear too many people frown on the word casual these days.

We both got raised, had a laugh, and parted ways.

This is what hunts was designed to be like. Not gather 100's of people and all zerg it down in 5 sec and move to the next S rank. Also, no more blacklisting, shaming, and bullying other for acidentally pulling it early. So no, hunts is finally working the way it suppose to be.

I guess they just want ppl to do the new dungeons more than to farm tomes with hunts. It kind of make sense if you think about it.

However, I think if they gave A's at least 5 poetics, it would inspire a little more to do them than to have them give nothing but allied seals.

Please no. Hunts are PERFECT right now. A ranks people shout in zone. Wait for full PT and then kill. With 8 people some A hunts are a challenge and fun. This is how SE invisioned them.

So how are you getting your allied seals? Hunts are alive and well on Balmung, yes a little slow but still alot doing them. I've been doing them for the last 3 days alot more relaxing then spamming dungeons your right there. And no dealing with duty finder babies

Haha it just to show u how hunts were a terrible idea.
Most Ppl didn't do hunts because they enjoyed them "thrill of the hunt", they did it because of the easy tomes and gear ( and some for the vanity )
Now tht it has lost it's charm, ppl r like meh i need to cap tomes and not waste time on hunts.
So good riddance hunts i hope to not see u a become a big thing till patches 2.5/3.0

I hated hunts in 2.3.
They gave out rewards far too quickly compared to other content and created a lot of drama in the community.

Hunts are great now. The fights are much more fun with less people doing them, and I still see 1 or 2 groups doing hunts in PF most days so they aren't totally dead.

Wasn't the original intention something like solo for B, light party for A, full party for S?
If anything changes I hope they just drop the marks' HP back down to their original levels, not up the rewards.

I like the current hunt system aswell, Where I can do something.

I've done more hunts in 2.4 then all of 2.3 for A and S ranks.

I would like it better if Hunt bills were used a bit more since the pace of hunting has toned down significantly.

I almost feel like this is boiling down to the needs of a hard core server and a casual server....

Yep im casual, shoot me for having a life and enjoying the few moments I do get to play the game.

SE seems to like dealing only in extremes. At first, hunts were way too well rewarded, and now they're barely worth doing. Buff them up to a middle ground, please.

They're both boring and horrible. One -was- faster though.

They should make B ranks the way they were before. Now that the reward is so little.

The tome rewards is crappy probably because 2.4 was recently released. Wait about 2.43 or 2.45 and they'll probably up the amount again. First release of anything, players need to suffer for it, and then as time passes, SE eases it up.

Just a trend I've been noticing, but not 100% if it's actually their plan.

The question is why is 20 soldiery for an A rank all of sudden not worth the same as the same 20 soldiery before 2.4? What in the calculations has changed for people? It is not like people cared about the myth gear, many people just let sit capped at 2000.

Since hunts are just mindless zergs it should not be possible to get as good equipment as it used to. I hope they never go back to that ever again. If they want hunts to be useful, make them claimable otherwise good riddance. Also, no I don't think grinding dungeons are much better, I think they should work on getting many things less of a boring grind.

Not me. Once I capped Mythology, I bought materials and sold them to make more Gil, then start all over. That's what I was doing with Hunts once I was done with Soldiery.

I think what everyone that wants Hunts to be the way it was before needs to realize is that it's not that it promoted socializing amongst the community, nor was it anything to do with it being "fun" to do. The absolute most important thing about it was that it was the fastest and easiest way to gear up in the entire game. It has zero to do with the "fun" it was or the socializing to be had... which, in all honesty, was rarely ever something that the majority of Hunt LS members even actively participated in.

Simple. Soldiery is no longer capped. Being capped to 450 a week made this rate perfectly acceptable. Now that it no longer is, we keep seeing these threads. The disparity between collecting Myth then (at the time, lesser tome) and collecting Soldiery now (now currently, lesser tome) is quite ridiculous.

Really only applies to armor, since the cost of everything else bought with soldiery is, or is near, 50% cheaper.

I miss the hunts because they were good for server community. On Excalibur we have a very friendly open to all way about hunts and it was fun teaming up with people on the same server.
Duty finder is too much like playing with NPCs with AI, going into a timed instance where people rarely bother to even say "Hi" is not fun to me (why bother talking if we'll never see them again right?)

I just hope SE doesn't totally give up on Open World content.

Well soldiery is not the issue. More will not change that. The issue is that it is missing poetics. I like hunts like it was, but I like dungeons more. But it looks like poetics are low across the board compared to how soldiery was even before the hunts. I think this is intentional on the part of SE.

Right now when you hunt you get allied seals and soldiery, so if your getting soldiery gear, this is actually 2x soldiery in a sense. For sands and oils, ST is faster and better place now by far. And CT at 100 soldiery is probably fastest for soldiery if efficiency is all you care about.

Good riddance. Hunts are now where they belong. I actually somewhat enjoy them now that they are not clogging every bit of the game.

Hunts simply need to give better Soldiery rewards, or have the Soldiery gear not cost 660 allied seals apiece when A-ranks drop 20 and can take up to 15-30 minutes to find and kill.

Putting Poetics on them will make them too efficient.

No, instead it's down to dungeons once more as only viable option to get the tomes. Which are obviously the best place to get such gear. Oh wait, not. And yet people keep wondering why they're getting kicked from expert roulette runs for wasting other's time by watching cutscenes and all that nonsense. SE limiting our options to farm our tokens, outside of actual raiding content, is not going to make things any better for those not interested in tome rushes.

How is it SE's fault Players are asshats?

Let me expand on that. You can still get Tombs from hunts, yes? What then has changed? as I said in my previous comment "the newest, fastest, path of least resistance" has changed. Unfortunately players dont seem to do content because they want to do it or because they like it, they do it because there is a generation of people who want everything to be the best in the fastest way possible, then complain "there's nothing to do".

I bet people would implode if all content was completely equal in all regards. "What do i do now? there is no cookie cutter best way to do things any more!"

I didn't realize that a 30 second cutscene at the start of an expert level dungeon or before the final boss was really that much of an issue. Because in those dungeons that literally is all there is. Good to know though so I can steer clear of those people unwilling to let others watch 1 minute worth of cutscenes... once.

Huh, on Siren hunts are still going pretty strong. Not as awful a zerg it used to be, but still more than enough to where we down thngs easily.

I honestly think they undertuned this time, overtuned previously.

Needs a perfect middle-ground.

Even when the hunts were at their prime, I stopped taking part halfway through. They're just overtuned FATEs for bored level 50 players to do in between queues.
