Really wish I could find some pants that fit the poetics chestpiece.

At this moment, I don't really care about stats, seeing as it's very hard for myself to even find a T5 capable group to clear it, without having to pay another FC gil to clear it.
Honestly though, this gear looks 10x better than the soldiery gear. I never understood why they chose to go with that design...

stacking crit mindlessly is pretty dumb. After a certain threshold you have diminishing returns as u need a lot more crit to move on the next tier of crit %. All these ppl saying i have crit over 9000 r funny. Thats cool and all, but whats your DET look like?
Im getting the ironworks robe first for my SCH. The increase MND-VIT are well worth the loss in crit.
i110 BiS SCH full crit build is 561 crit - 263 Det
I would much rather take a mix build that has me around ~500 crit/ ~300 Det. Heals will hit A LOT harder and crit only about 1-2% less than full crit build.
With my mixed build set my physick hits for 1300+ (Non crit). GL reaching that at i110 with full crit build
i think the healer robe looks like garbage honestly, would have preferred the caster set
The tank set looks amazing. I've had PLD at 50 since 1.0 but never used it. Screw the War Lion, I'm gonna start tanking for that bad ass armor!
The BRD/NIN set is the best looking, IMO. The Caster looks great too.
Tank on a highlander female looks so bad though :( Was hoping to maybe get it for glamour (T13 is my tank body of choice...and I can wait for it til we clear it within then next few weeks) but not anymore...
With the poetics you use to buy a big piece, you can get 2 small ones and get you the same exact mind/vit as 1 big piece alone, plus giving your BiS class stats as secondary. Eventually, people will get full set (they're just now with the dilemma cuz it was just released) while hopefully dropping Dreadwyrm pieces. Myself for example, I got poetics shoes + bracelets for my SCH and my static killed T10 this week. I got the same VIT-MIND stats from those pieces combined as someone who bought chest instead, but I gained more BiS stats. And believe me, in FCoB, you'll want to mitigate dmg as much as you can, so stacking crit is better than det as SCH. With this, I have 301 det and 548 crit (no food). Researching around, apparently the formula for det is 6 = 1 main stat. Your heals won't increase by hundreds, but your shields will benefit more with crits.
I would like my healing robe way more if it didn't have that stupid orange patch. >_<
I think if you mix it with the pvp gear its so cool

I wish I could see the robe paired with the Allagan cane from T5. I know it looks great with the scholar book.
Ask and ye shall receive (tried to grab a few different angles). :P

My personal fav's is pairing the coat with the Thyrus staff (these pics don't really do the glowy awesomeness justice)

Love the new robe... except the battery pack on the back... if they removed that pouch it would be perfect
Okay, see the problem with what you are saying is that det is literally a shit stat. You get more out of 1 main stat than you do 15 det. Crit on the other hand stacks quite nicely. As a reference I stated i have 600 crit chance which adds up to 23.3% crit. Crit chance for anything that relies on big numbers will always reign supreme. Even though base damage/base healing may be higher by increasing det or main stat, critting more often weighs far heavier. If you can Crit 1/4 of all your casts you are getting far more out of your slightly lower base than you would with 15% crit
I wish robes for males were a little more on the elegant side. For example, instead of leaving it as it is for both gender, why not cut open the robe in the front for males? So it can look more like half a robe and half a tuxedo or something.
But in general I wish the team would be a bit more original with mage equip designs.. we don't have to wear robes and gowns all the time you know :\
Im not saying stack Det over Crit. But after a certain threshold Crit is not worth stacking because you would need a substantial amount of crit to increase your crit % by 1. You cant count on critting a spell so steadier more powerful heals r better. And when your spell does crit its gonna crit for a lot more because of the extra Det. The difference in full crit and mixed det/crit build is only around 2-3%.
But watever, keep on getting carried by your WHM ;)
WHM on 369 det (592 mind with party bonus):
You recover 1372 HP.
You recover 1322 HP.
You recover 1358 HP.
You recover 1374 HP.
You recover 1313 HP.
- Critical! You recover 2054 HP.
- Critical! You recover 1963 HP.
- Critical! You recover 2020 HP.
-----------------------------------
SCH on 572 crit, 301 det (586 mind with party bonus):
You recover 1362 HP.
You recover 1342 HP.
You recover 1318 HP.
You recover 1303 HP.
You recover 1320 HP.
- Critical! You recover 2025 HP.
- Critical! You recover 1970 HP.
- Critical! You recover 1944 HP.
Such difference, much carry! wow! ._. I even had to remove 5 lines because they crited :3
Edit: Added the crit logs. It took me forever to just get 3 crits on whm. and only 4 physicks to get 3 crits on sch.
why r u comparing whm vs sch? Wat im talking about is different sch builds
The "keep getting carried" part was just in there for the lolz
Naw not really. Not sure who told ya Crit has diminishing returns but it doesn't in this game, it's straight gains so its safe to stack to your hearts content. Also you're severely underestimating the crit loss while overstating how much more powerful Det makes your heals, especially this tier with crit and det being split down the middle (minus bracelet). Like the coil body alone provides close to 3% crit whereas the Poe body will give you about 10hp heal gain through its det. To make the comparison a full Det stacked build will Physick for 1356 avg. with a 10.35% crit chance with det food; Meanwhile a crit stacked build Physick for 1301 avg. with a 23.38% crit chance with crit food. So really your choice is 13.01% crit or 55hp heal gains or somewhere in between if ya mix an match.
That said, go with what you want cause honestly secondary stats are pretty trash in this game and are merely the forte of min-maxers after they get tricked out. Like the only reason Sch's stack crit is because it's the least trashiest of the trash since it synergizes so well with the galvanize mechanic.
Comparing both WHM and SCH with a huge determination (and a bit more mind) difference, while having barely any difference in heals. Which makes SCH stacking crit, even if its just for 1-2% as you claim, to be most reliable when the rest of your healing spells are mitigating ones, which you need for endgame (especially FCoB). I guess I did it "for the lolz"!
I don't really understand as a noob SCH. Should I be saving poetics for this body or mythics for the other body if I atm only have "AF2"? Just wondering since people seem to say the poetics isn't great for SCH but the myth body is?
U compared a full crit sch vs a full det sch. My example wasnt comparing the two extremes. It was comparing the full crit build at 561crit/263 det to a mix build. Mix build putting u at ~500-510 crit/ ~300-310 det. Exact crit/det numbers will vary on which crit pieces r swapped out. These r without food.
If you guys r going to discuss the content of post, at least be consistent in analyzing the example that i have put forth and not bring additional ones that r trying to skew wat im saying. So far all ive gotten WHM vs SCH comparisons. or Full Det vs Full Crit SCH.
Is the slight downgrade in crit % from 561 to ~500-510 iworth the increase in Det from 263 to ~300-310? thats really wat im proposing.
After the det/crit argument, you can get your own conclussions. Do you wanna heal a tiny bit more? or do you wanna have higher chances to crit more? If so, get soldiery set and try to upgrade them with sands, and the poetic pieces that have crit (or you'll eventually have full poetics set anyway), on your own references. If you plan on doing endgame raids, for progression (if you don't have any i100/i110 gear atm), poetics would be better for higher VIT.
