Qarn Hard final boss seems WAY overtuned.

It's all fun and /hi5 right now because your running with FC members and friends. Wait until you have to do these long tedious boss fights / dungeons on your daily roulette, day in and day out, with people who don't know the fight (ie, one-and-doners and those that got carried). You'll be changing your "I enjoy the challenge" opinion real quick, guarantee it.

People just need a bit more practice is all, it's still a new dungeon and many can't play 6-10 hours every day. Give it at least a week, it'll get much easier. (Just did it via DF and even with once tank, then healer getting mummified, we beat it easily. Then again, we all have done it several times already.)

everyone needs to dodge every single one, because they do massive damage AND give a stack of the mummy rot, and let me tell you it's been really frustrating as a healer seeing the tank/dps get hit every single time.

please make it easier to dodge or nerf it's damage. margin of error is important.

I LOVED that final Qarn boss too :). He is super scary but his mechanics are super fun!

I've had zero problems with that boss. It's fine. Fun, actually.

I don't know what you're talking about. I could heal through that fight fine, and it was really fun. Sounds like you had a party who wasn't as experienced as you, instead of asking for nerf, maybe you should try explaining the fight to your party members?

I'd rather they didn't change anything. The difficulty of all 3 are a breath of fresh air. It's nice to have a challenge for a change.

I like how these bosses arent pure faceroll, was fun being a human pinball in Sash HM.

The Quarn final boss wasn't that bad, people just need to pay attention and have a modest sense of spatial skills. It's actually kinda fun.

The only dungeon I thought 'well, that was a workout' was Satasha HM...and that was likely b/c I was main heals with a lower geared tank/dps. (ilvl 90ish for the other 3 party members). Basically, this one I'd like to try again w/ some ilvl 100+ peoples...bet it'd also feel perfectly fine.

Pretty sure in a month or two though once people know the drill on these dungeons+have higher ilvl gears, these will be fine.

Well I personally haven't done this dungeon, maybe it's not the mechanics that are to hard but other things.

Party being lazy?
Bad connection?
First timer?

With newer dungeons it takes a while to get used to the grove of things. Now I've never played as a healer but I've rolled both DPS and a tank and whenever someone says they're new to a dungeon and that's older ones to sometimes I like to run it through how things go, If I'm a tank and the healers new than maybe I won't pull so fast. If the tanks new than maybe I won't go ham as a DPS so I'm stealing hate.

If all else fails, just run stuff with your friends or FC, I've asked my FC for help on the higher end content and dungeons that I have yet to touch on and they give me a brief overview of how things go and I have lots of fun with them cause I'm soaking everything new.

There are lasers in this fight ? >_> All I noticed is that the boss said something at like 1% HP left and then boom. I have not seen any other mechanics than the mummies...

in all honesty they are. They're a step higher in difficulty comparing to the others (on par with AK and Pharos in their time I'd say, maybe a bit more difficult), but they are still super easy to go through in 30 mins with 4/4 beginners.

Get out and get some fresh air if you got frustrated instead of bursting out laughing when you saw yourself turn into a mummy and ran across the arena.

Yeahhhhhh Satasha is definitely my least favorite of the three right now.

Qarn is a lot of fun. ^^

I haven't done this one, but with the way the servers have been lagging (for me anyway) since the update went live all of Snowcloak was very difficult. I don't think it would be if my ping weren't jumping between 50 ms and 3500 ms, but it at least seemed interesting that all of the bosses required us to pay attention a bit and figure a few things out (though they were mostly simple mechanics). Might be others are having lag issues and 'getting hit' by the lasers no matter what.

So far all the 3 dungeons are great. And I got lucky enough to go in with new people that have yet to run them each time. So we had fun figuring it all out.

I intentionally got mummified cause I wanted to see what would happen hehe.

And yeah from what I saw the mobs in the new ones actually hit a tad more than a wet noodle.

More such dungeons please. And PLEASE stop moving them to drhigh.... it gets boring on drexpert with just 3 dungeons...

Or you could not dodge it....
On our first run we were derping out a bit and just took Lunar Cry to the face. The bite afterwards hurts like hell but no one died. But that probably only works with high ilvls, if you go in at the minimum you are most likely doggie feed.

Had an immense amount of fun with the snowball fight though!

This may indeed make a big difference. I did Satasha and Qarn with 2 friends from the FC, and Snowcloack with an all FC party. It is fun to discover things together, even if you need some time to figure things out.

This is the first set of dungeons that actually makes me feel like i have to focus rather than holy spam or cure spam. I cannot deal with anymore dumb faceroll dungeons. You would think its a nightmare to dodge stuff for 3 minutes. Its fun, focus and enjoy the ride.

The tailspin can also be interrupted as tank. That makes it easier on the healer.

The pistol spam, is there any tactic to counter that that anybody is aware off? Only ran Sastasha HM once thus far. He appeared to be randomly targeting someone. The first pistol spam wasn't bad. It just hit for a few hundred. However at roughly 20% it did another pistol spam and 2 shot both DPS. It simply kept nuking me for 2k damage till the end of the fight. Which as the healer had to continously heal me, no time to to res, CD's had to remain up, and roughly 800k total incoming damage later it felt rather off. Either we bugged him out in some way, or there's some sort of mechanic we missed or whatever. It didn't feel as intended for an iLvL 80 dungeon to constantly be nuked for such amounts on an iLvL 110 tank :p.

The last boss was a complete joke again. At first I was like, AoE and add overload?! But then I quickly realized 'wait, this doesn't hurt. The blind doesn't even make me miss'. I could just stand there as tank, be pretty self sufficient whilst the healer and DPS were doing something on the background with arms and tentacles.

Just focus fire on the boss when he fires his gun. That will interrupt him. It is just like the BLM mog in Mog trials.

It is my understanding that if the DPS do enough damage to him while he's shooting, he'll stop.

When I ran this dungeon however, my DD's lacked the gear/dps to do this effectively enough for me to know for certain if this actually works. (I just hard-cure spammed it all)

I found that part even funnier my 2nd time through(as tank). First time I only got 3 stack so I didn't get mummy'd, but second time I went with another group of friends. As tank I got hit with that 4th stack.
Me: I'm out for 30s...
MNK Friend: Shitshitshit *pops all defensive skills*

The MNK was 2nd on the enmity list, other 2 were a BRD and SCH.

Really? I feel like it was the easiest boss of all the Hard Mode Dungeon. I haven't yet to see a party wipe on this Boss. I feel like the opposite Dungeon are too easy and no challenge. Bring back the day of Pharos and Demon Wall pre nerf please. The only boss I find even difficult in this hard mode dungeon 2.4 Patch is the Pirate Boss and the Cactaur where I see a few wipe on this.

Most of the time even doing this 1st time I thought there is no mechanic because haven't wipe yet even during 1st time.

But Laser in this fight? I think the OP is talking about Normal Quarn then. If that is the case I do feel normal mode is harder then hard, last boss anyway, lol.

Also the 2nd boss, just popping regen and a stoneskin would make the target only drop down to like 95% hp at the most lol.
Dunno why ppl didn't take much dmg from the supposedly op mechanic the boss had. O wait maybe cuz ppl don't use stoneskin enough.

I just think when ppl have shiny gear and suck over and over again is cuz either they dunno how to play with randoms and were sheltered within their fc/ ls groups or they came fresh back from hunts going like wtf this is harder than zerging down a fate like boss.

Pistol spam >> Targeted player runs through the boss, he stops shooting. LOS kinda thing.

Arms and Tenticles >> we kinda figured to leave the tenticles alone. If there are 2-4 arms up, kill them or you get tornado'd, if there are 6+ up just focus on the boss.

Weird, I feel Qarn final boss is the easiest final boss of 3 new dungeons.....

That boss is my favourite in the entire game currently. I didnt find it hard, but so much fun.
I thinl you just need to practice if you find it too hard. Maybe start practicing ifrit hm. And when you think that is easy you can practice titan hm. And if you manage to kill titan hm that boss should be easy!

So we finally get a good boss who requires more than just bashing your face on keyboard. Better nerf that!

Just my two gil on this but I will say I did love the new Qarn :D granted I only did one run of it so far but it wasn't bad with the party I was with. To the OP it might have been just the luck of the draw because yeah I could see the laser being iffy to dodge while mummies are doing their thing.

I enjoyed both Stasha HM and Qarn HM. Like probably more than I should have. Took a few wipes on Stasha to figure things out but finished it after figuring it. First time I did Qarn, we got stuck on the Cactuar, the SMN and BRD in the group at that time couldn't understand the mechanic. So we plugged away. Wasted a lot of time. The BRD left after the 4th wipe to it. SMN left after we beat the second boss. We get replenished with two BRDs with like 18 mins left. We decide to push forward. Make it to boss with seven mins, but Heals got ate at 2 mins along with a BRD. So that run failed. I re-Q'd and almost felt like I speed ran it. I was comfortable with the DMG I was taking so I would gather larger than normal packs, plus it helped to have a BLM, BRD and SCH grouped up. Each boss went down with ease. I found Qarn to be the easier of the two so far. Stasha has some punchy mo-fo's in there lol.

Working on unlocking Snowcloak tonight. That looks like a lot of fun.

I recently did Qarn... and LOVED it. To be fair, it's actually the easier of the three dungeons, and the final boss I'd argue is actually one of the easier bosses in the dungeon. It's just dodging, which we should all be experts at by that point and while the laser beam doesn't have an AoE marker, I think it adds to the much-needed difficulty a little bit more.

In my first ever run I only ever got 2 stacks of mummy rot. One from not realizing that the mummies had a 'radius' which inflicted the rot and merely sidestepping to avoid them. The second from the laser beam as I had been expecting an AoE marker before it fired. Once I got hit, I learned quickly and it never touched me again.

Sastasha HM is the one thats overturned, yes Qarn HM last boss may suck but its not THAT bad.

Nah, these are perfect. Do not change please. The difficulty level is appropriate. Goes back to the days of AK/WP. If you can't beat the phase, run some other things to gear up. I like them just the way they are.

Satasha 1st Boss had me crying for mana song and I had two bards in the party.

Yes! This feeling is so good. We wiped 3 or 4 times to Fenrir because we thought we had to run away from the crystal. Ended up just powering through while getting frozen constantly haha. Totally worth it. I wish we'd wiped that much on the other two dungeons.

I felt Qarn was a bit of a let down :( Old regular Qarn was my favourite dungeon in the game, where everything was a puzzle and bees made you DPS like a madman. That final boss fight is so funny and cute that it makes up for it though ;D

None of them are overtuned. I'm sick of people going here crying for nerfs because they can't beat anything on the first day.

All 3 of the new dungeons are stupid easy. Why anyone thinks they need to be nerfed it beyond me.

No thank you.. Am a tank and healer and no, just no. Fight is fine as is, it's easy, easy, easy fight. Bad tanks and lazy healers is not a reason to make it easy.
