How will Ninja Gear work.

But, from my understanding they will really only share left side gear (armor) and not the accessories. So I don't really see where the "double" comes from necessarily.

Also, we don't know the stat values they will add to each piece of gear. The initial BIS set up for release could very well entail different prices for the armor side than mnk.

Higher parry rate also gives more Haymaker procs, which is the biggest single potency for Monk, except for True strike on back. Since parry can proc on AoE, it's not even a problem if you're not the main target.

I don't have the exact calculation, but some said "Approximately double the parry rate for MNK, and approximately double the parry strength for NIN".

That's a huge boost to survivability.

If you look at a full High allagan set, you gain 168 points. Natively, you have along 260 points, so the bonus is not a small part.
Since DEX and STR are the main stat, we can assume that the DEX value will be the same as the actual STR value.

No this is for all gear pre-2.4.
It will be a long time before i110 armor is really OUTDATED.

That much I understand, but we don't know how much dex will be on each piece of gear.

The setup for bis on the armor side could be slightly different. Maybe neither class will get the full str/dex as the other?

It was said explicitly that it would be either DEX or STR, but people still argued that it will be STR only and not DEX, so it's their own fault.
Personally I went with a safe route of 10 letters, 2000/2000 mytho/soldiery & 7/5 sand/oils. And thus i was safe even if NIN would be PIE based class with completely separate from any other class gear. I was lucky enough to save myself a bit of time (as I am archer main) but nevertheless it would only cost me some time on soldiery farm for accessories.

Huge? My bard negated by parry only ~1% of received damage in the last T9 run. Even if this number is doubled - it still insignificant.
DPSes are not tanks, they don't receive a lot of physical damage to parry.

Somewhat disturbed about it, but the real kicker was I passed on many High Allagan Aiming accessories and have to go back for them. Fortunately, it was a minor setback because BiS for 2.3 gear will likely be 4/5 Auroral and High Allagan Ring of Aiming (if you were BiS MNK now). The only thing that could change this is the stats on High Allagan daggers, but serious Ninja will be grinding Nexus anyway.

All of that depends on how stat allocation is on armor side. We don't know how the will allocate the stats ( if dex will be one foe one with str). Plus I thought the good dex accessories were HA choker/ring and then gloam ring/earing/ring.

Which in all honesty won't take very long to get since soldiery will drop like candy. The only thing that may take a bit is HA mnk gear from coil, and even that won't take long with a farm party.

Even the "bis" pieces that will more than likely be from soldiery tomes won't take that long. Plus, people will be farming gear for their main jobs anyway. Trust me, most people aren't going to main nin until is is..

Proven to be at least be able to keep up with the other top dps classes.
Rotation is not too complicated and players/theory crafters have already optimized it.
See how it performs in a party dynamic setting and figure out it's "role" within the group.

then there are the people like me..

I've got 6 sands/2 oils ready to go and everything to get relic atma ready upon hitting 50. Still collecting alexandrites (at 30) but it's all good. Smarter thing to do anyway upon release is get i110 weapon asap along with any other weathered gear you can and start doing FCOB for those item drops while working towards nexus weapon in your spare time. (Which is a lot)
