Im not asking to run around in heavy armour I'm asking for armours that have EXACTLY the same model to be glamoured across the board for all the classes that can use that item. Yeah sure my smn and blm can glamour that robe but my whm can't even though its visually identical. Im not asking to be able to equip it either.Quote:

I don't know about others, but I'm not asking to be able to dress my casters like tanks or vice versa. What I'm asking for is, I'd like to glamour the summoner AF over my evenstar coat for summoner, and the Lightning outfit over the Evenstar coat for black mage. This is not currently possible without glamouring everytime I switch between blm and summoner. If you don't have multiple geared 50s that you switch between as the situation calls for, it's probably not as much of an issue. But that doesn't make it less important to the people who would like to see it happen.

I would love to be able to glamour my warrior and paladin differently even though they're wearing the same gear (except for weapon/offhand, of course). Same goes for scholar/white mage and summoner/black mage.

I am looking to dressing my War/PLD in Soldery gear. Just. I want my Paladin to look different to my Warrior. The red fits the warrior theme without altering much. But my it just doesnt fit for my Paladin.
All those multipurpose gear would be awesome if you could glamour it acording t the job.
Yeah we can glamour as often as we want. but If i am switching more than once a day jobs and want my specific look i need 5 prisms every time I change. And even if I make them all by myself. The crysals aren't cheap.. yeah "mine them yourself" but crystals used on prisms are prisms lost on other stuff -

How about a system where (just for high level unique or difficult to obtain items) they added a system that would essentially let you get a second untradeable/unsellable/un-desynth-able copy of an item much more cheaply/easily once you've obtained the first one. That way, even on items that could (and therefore normally would) be shared between classes, you could instead just get multiples of them, and glamour one for each look you want.
Advantages:
1) It keeps the glamour system itself pretty much unchanged, which I'm assuming would help developers (and whatever system limitation concerns led to the initial development of this system rather than cosmetic slots).
2) It provides a lot of flexibility. You could set different glamours by job, but could also set up different glamoured sets to suit your mood if you want.

I had more sleep and time to think about this.
When I first spoke I didn't re-read and didn't accurately get my thoughts across. What I meant by my earlier comment is that they put this in place to force people to change back/forth between the vanity (if they had to) like the person who stated above about pld/war. If they were able to glamour each separately, those are prisms that won't be re-bought later once they are "satisfied" with their appearance. (Then again this is all on the basis that people don't change glamour as often as someone like me or others.)
Second: A slight resolution brewing?
I want to point out someone above mentioning changing the gear to be wearable by other classes. They could be planning to allow augmentation crafting of popular armor pieces, and these augmentations may be different than the AF augmentation. What I mean by this, is that we maybe able to craft augmentations of gear that changes what jobs can wear it. Thus, not increasing the character data retained server wise (the server won't have to account for anything special as in multiple glamour sets.) meanwhile allowing jobs/classes to have more gear they can cross-dress in. This isn't a complete solution to what people want, (many want their war/pld to look different using same gear.) however this would help alleviate that glamours not working if you change jobs. -

I completely agree with this topic. Absolutely.
I have the full sets of the Swansgrace, Elkhorn and Wolfseye, and right now I can't glamour the way I really want to because of the shared Daystar and Evenstar.
For example, I had the Swansgrace set glamoured on my WHM. However, I removed it because I also love SCH and cannot stand to look at the Daystar set (because of how hideous it is). In addition, I cannot glamour the Evenstar gear to be both Wolfseye on BLM and Elkhorn on SMN, and I really want to be able to. -

I agree with this. I have a nice glamour for my Summoner, but when I switch back to Black Mage I look hideous because of the range of gear I'm wearing. I can either have one look nice or the other, or have them both look exactly the same in un-glamoured gear. It would be nice to be able to glamour them separately :)

I'm sorry, but this is is extremely unlikely to happen.
Currently each equipable item has 2 model identifiers: the items base model and a Glamour redirect. To give you what you want every item would need to have 20+ model identifier, the base model and 1 Glamour redirect for each class and individual job even if it was not equipable by that class or job. This is a massive increase in the amount of data each equipable item would need to have. -

I still think they should ditch the glamour system and move to Glamour slots.
it would solve these issues right here and it would not take up much more data, think about it for a moment.
if each gear set had this it would be pretty much the same as it is now as you would have your glamor items in slots it would also take care of some issues like mutiple slot items such as the Odin Armor(dont remember the name) since it takes up 4 slots it cannot be used with the current system. but a simple tab with a on/off button that has slots for all your vanity choices would work.
alas they chose not to do this and now the players crafting glamour prisms are out of control with the prices too. -

note: they could even make it so that to use the armour as glamour you would have to bind a glamour prism to it. thus they would still have a use. -
