maps give gentle
tried on boarskin, and unhidden
someone did levi ex and got bright glow
Right now I'm assuming its on a point system. Like gentle glow gives 2 points, brilliant gives 5 (obviously, numbers are just examples) and that once our total points equal a certain about the zodiac glass' message will change and eventually we'll collect enough total points to upgrade to the nexus weapon.
Blew through a Ifrit HM from Trial, got Gentle glow. He only jump twice so was pretty fast.
Also blasted through a ST in less than 30 min and got Newborn star.
Seems kinda random looking at the other posts, but there probably is a system to it.
Might be diminishing returns to keep people from rerunning same content too much and slow the pace a little.
Expert Roulette (Stone vigil hard) - Brilliant
Hydra & Chimera - Feeble (both had new people)
Ifrit HM - Gentle
Titan HM - Gentle
CT - Blinding light (Joined in progress at atomos, 50~ minute run with lots of new people)
Might as well add as well that I killed over 10 A ranks (full credit on all of them) and got no glow from any of them.
Anyone get a confirmation on how exactly the stat re-allocation stuff works? I want to try it but I'm scared it'll reset all my Nexus progress.
Doubt it. If it wanted specific things there would be a way to keep track of it like the Animus books. Most of the relic steps so far is just reusing content.
This new step just looks like a point system with each level of light adding a different number to the overall total.
It seems like doing "harder" stuff just adds more "points" to your total faster.
Once you get enough points.. you just turn it in. This seems like a "do whatever you want, turn it in when point total is reached" type thing.
Warriors? Born from the Light?

I'm a bit worried they have a fatigue system attached to this thing. If you're grinding too much to get your glows, It sounds like it might be eventually going down to a trickle or "feeble glow". So far I haven't seen anyone doing ST and receiving anything lower then blinding. We need someone to grind something like that or a expert dungeon, to see if this fatigue thing kicks all the way on, where your either Feeble, or nothing no matter what you do for the day. God I hope not, I wanna be able to grind on the weekend...
Looking forward to when actual points can be tagged with messages. Who knows, might be faster to get 5 feeble from turn 4 than it would be to get 1 blinding from ST.
Actually, despite the lack of information (as intended), I find this stage of the Zodiac quite interesting. Ah, I got brilliant from expert roulette (tam-tara).
I think it depends on how many people have the Novus in your party. I did pharos run and I was the only one who had a Novus and I got gentle light
Has anyone with 2+ novus weapons tried? I am curious if you can upgrade multiple ones at a time.
2x low level fates = both feeble
2x ST runs = both blinding
2x Piestskin maps = both feeble
1x alexandrite map = gentle
Anyone tried Frontlines to see what it gives (if anything)?
So far on my Thyrus Novus
Syrcus Tower - Newborn Star
2 FATEs in Upper La Noscea - Both Feeble Light
Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 1 - Bright Light
Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 2 - Gentle Light
Binding Coil of Bahamut Turn 5 - Bright Light
Stone Vigil HM (Expert Roulette) - Brilliant Light
Tam-Tara Deepcroft HM - Brilliant Light
Are you... telling me *twitch* that I could have just loaded up my Novus *twitch twitch* with any level, any substat Materia... and I could have *tremble* saved over 10 MILLION GIL by just halfassing it like everyone else...?!
...
*collapses on the floor in a sobbing, shrieking, hysterical heap*
Can you explain a little more on what you did? I'm still confused?
For example. You have Det and Skill speed on your novus capped. You want to replace the Skill Speed with Crit. What do you do? Do you loose alexandrite? Do you need new CRIT Materia to replace with? Thanks
Well original post says you have to RE-MELD the stats, so no, we have not wasted our money/time in it.
for reference, the original post
Quote:
According to the Novus/Nexus reset description, you don't have to re-do the whole process, all stats will be transferred to a clean sphere scroll, so then you remove each stat individually, re-meld the new stats and re-apply them to the Novus/Nexus.
If this is correct, this is the BEST relic upgrade yet.
So let's say you infused:
44 Crit
24 Det
10 Acc
now let's say you want to reallocate the 10 accuracy points in order to cap Determination, you should:
1. remove the 10 points of Accuracy [for free];
2. infuse 2 DetIII and 8 DetIV materia to the scroll
3. re-bond the scroll to your Novus Weapon.
At least that is what I get of it.
The next question I guess is what happens once you've got your new desired stats. If you've obtained nexus, will it jump back to nexus or will you have to grind again?
You buy a new sphere scroll (3 enchanted ink, 1500 myth), go to Ja-something in North Shroud, choose to readjust the stats of your novus, give him the relic and the clean sphere scroll and he will transfer the stats to the scroll, now go back to central thanalan to the NPC who sells the scrolls and he will be able to remove one infusion from your sphere scroll (repeat until you remove the amount you need) and then, using alexandrite and materia re-infuse the stats you need, go back to Ja-something and he will update the stats of your weapon.
EDIT yeah exactly what Guevara said, I overcomplicated it lol
No I don't think you have to grind again, the explanation for Nexus doesn't say anything about losing your progress, BUT when you get the stats transferred to the scroll you will work with i110 stats, not i115, after you're done and re-infuse it your new stats will be boosted to i115.
I'm speechless, they really made it so we can re-customize our novus/nexus without gating it behind a massive grind (maybe it's a hint that nexus itself will be a massive grind?)
Also thank you for getting rid of the piss yellow glow.
The sphere scroll just gets a direct copy of the relic's stats - and if you want to replace a stat you'll have to remove it from the sphere scroll one by one, so you'll need the alexandrite for the new infusions. Once you're done take relic and scroll back to the guy, and he'll overwrite the relic's stats with the scroll's stats (I think, haven't done that part yet).
I'm guessing different lights maybe different %. Like blinding maybe 2% and Star maybe 3%. Just judging this in comparison with other 110 gear.
Has anyone else confirmed the thing with changing Novus stats? I'd really really like to just finish my Novus with four Accuracy materias so I can start on Nexus, then come back and swap those out for Crit when I get the money, and NOT have to redo all 75 infusions again.
Not that I don't trust those who tested it, but it's a lot to risk when there's little information out.
I've already taken the risk - the relic itself won't change if you choose to transfer its stats into a sphere scroll. The scroll basically gets a copy paste of the relic's stats and you can remove the infusions one at a time, throw in what you want, then transfer the new stats into your relic.
Ran Hull breaker twice: Brilliant both times
Ran ST once: Blinding
Examined Novus "The relic exhibits no aetheric activity."
Will update once I see some activity.
I wonder if going into a coil instance, say Turn2, and letting the timer running down to enrage, then beating it might make a difference? hmmmmm....
Fates i've done got me feeble.
Ifrit and Titan hm got my gentle, one titan hm got my bright
got bright from hard roulette
exp roulette gave me brilliant
ST once got blinding
Alexandrite maps give gentle light,
So far no Newborn Star from anything
I am nowhere near getting a Novus yet so cannot add anything. Does the new upgrade not require you to do fates again?
If not finally Se has it right, if so well the heck with the upgrade i am so tired of fates
