Odin's Shield; Will we ever get this?

I'm kind of hoping the shield would be crafted; since I have like 24 mantles just collecting dust on one of my retainers and Square-Enix won't allow me to move those mantles to my alt. T_T

+1 for Odin's shield and possible reimplementing the Cape to the body armor once Direct X11 comes out.

While the development team does not have a time frame for when Odin’s Shield will be implemented, there are plans to add a way to obtain the shield in the future.

A little OT but could the Odin armor please be broken into different slot components (chest, hands, feet, etc.) so that it can then be glamoured. Then update the vendor accordingly and put a trade in option so those that have it can trade in the one combined peice for the broken up set. Hell I'd even be cool with only being able to trade it in for one piece and then having to obtain the rest. As it is an armour piece that has stats making it only viable as a glamour yet can't be glamoured serves pretty much no purpose.

Would be nice for all multi-slot equipment. It really messes with the glamour system.

While this is awesome and all, but for the love of the Twelve, can we PLEASE get word on when the Odin armor (4-slot gear piece) and the chocobo suit (3-slot gear piece) can actually be glamoured? And for people thinking of replying with a comment such as, "But you can glamour them already if you find darklight tank armor or another piece of gear with the same amount of slots to equip over". That is not the point of these requests people keep asking for. This glamour system should encompass all gear, as long as it's acceptable by that class.

And what about putting the cape back on the Odin Armor? It was there during Beta but was taken out. Could we possibly see it put back in when Direct X 11 is usable?

People will lash out at me for this, but you might get it when PS3 is phased out. Because honestly, that is the most likely thing holding a more robust system back.

Ha thanks for posting this, now I remember why I was levelling my Gladiator again. Would be cool though if we could get new mythological characters to add to the Odin/Behemoth category, there's plenty of Summons (or whatever you want to call them) to choose between from prior games. Then you could introduce themed gear for a class with a tie-in to theirs, vs. having an Odin-everything (bow, staff, grimoire) introduced... though it does kinda suck there's no gear for DPS's/Healers in this category, other than one second-place DoW Behemoth mask that's much less cool than the helm, and then the lol DoM Behemoth mask and that stupid dragoon spear.

That's about the only type of open world large scale content so far that doesn't create more collective misery than good... ATMA fating is retarded esp since it's in lower level synch'd areas primarily... Hunts, enough said.

Ok.. so Odin is now a 8 man raid single raid boss.. No sign of his shield in his drop tables.

Yeah, I know. You can get all of his armor, his sword, AND his horse (sure, last via cash shop, but still)... but nope, no shield.

What drives me under a rug is that they said they'd introduce a way to obtain his shield. The recently released Odin trial would have been a perfect way to implement said shield as a drop rate; yet there is no shield in his loot tables..I seriously hope this DOES NOT become a gold saucer token reward..

If it was going to the cash shop; I'd think they would had added it in along with when Sleipnir was released as a mount there. :\

Personally I'd rather have that cape over the buckler, or an upgrade for the sword or armor to Shivas ilevel. Otherwise they should at least let us craft the shield out of those mantles.

I want both the cape and the buckler. Either that, or remove the mantle from the armor we can use. As is, it looks pretty damned sad from the back.

Why be grateful? That shield makes no sense being in the Gold Saucer much less for that grand of a price. It's a tiny shield that looks flimsy in comparison to every other shield... For 10k of GSP.

I saw Skjoldr my self and that is pretty much Odins sheild, 10,000 MGP (Manderville something something). Or something that very much looks like it. LV 50 for pld/blm/whm and their classes. Now how long will people grind racing and tetra master for 10k points.

Don't get me wrong; I'm grateful they added it to the game. But it should have never been added to the Golden Saucer. It's primary drop should have been from the Odin trial fight which everyone was expecting it would be a drop from.

have to tired farming odin for glamors? there is already way to much for rng to bite you with. it would have made MOST sense would be to buy at the same place you get the sword with odins mantels.

I definitely agree it should have been added to the Odin Mantles vendor. In fact this was my original idea that it would be added to the vendor or crafted with Odin's Mantles, way before we learned there would be an Odin trial added to the game.

10k is cheap compared to the fenrir mount =D

Ugh.. don't remind me about Fenrir.. I'm avoiding spending any of my MGP to make Fenrir the first thing I buy before I focus on anything else.

At a rate of earning a solid 5k MGP a day total; that doesn't include having to spend some to play mini-games or TT; it'll take 200 days give or take if I get lucky with cactpots.

Odin’s Shield can be obtained in the Golden Saucer and the counter Prize Claim under Prize Exchange 1. It’s called Skoldr for 10,000 MGP

I wondered why that shield looked familiar in the trailers.
And then I realized it's the exact same shield in the game already lol.
It's a golden saucer item from the prize claim 1 tier under weapons/armor tab.
